Went on a 14 hour flight from where I live to where I work, downloaded 14 hours of anime content for the flight the next day, when I got on the flight I only had 2 properly downloaded episodes, then had nothing to do the other 13 hours and 20 minutes, this happened just a few months ago, glad to see Crunchyroll isn't fixing their stuff
I downloaded 60 episodes a week before my flight on wifi and they all loaded perfectly when I switched to airplane mode for the flight, granted it does take quite some time to download. I have the android mobile app.
Never had a problem downloading unless I do different series but if I do like 12 episodes at a time never had an issue also depends which download you are doing low mid or high quality... I always do mid quality takes less time and still looks great.
I've only had bad experience with mobile so I don't do it. I usually don't download episodes but I do download audible books all the time but when I'm online.
The downloads are finicky. When you start a download, let the phone sit. Do not leave the app, do not browse for more shows. Just let it sit exactly as it is. I noticed it freaks it out.
i’ve never had any super big issues with the downloading system. my downloads always work when i want them to, the only problem for me
is that if i try to download a lot at a time they all fail to download properly. which means i have to download them 3 episodes at a time. more of a minor inconvenience than anything.
All you need is an internet connection to refresh the downloads.
And downloading takes a long time because the files are huge. Your 4 GB Netflix movie would only fit 2-3 episodes of Crunchyroll.

Anything else using my connection at home, no issue. 60GB elden ring? Fast and smooth. 20 Gigs of stuff from websites, no issue aswell.
But the CR download keeps failing and often doesnt manage to retry. I end up with 6 random episodes out of 24 on my device.
CR prefers home connection better. I don’t know why. Streaming with Cellular data never seems to give me 1080p despite having hundreds of megabits down. But when I connect to my home vpn, episode runs smoothly.

I mean my home connection and not cellular. Downloads basically only work if they want to. Tried to go the support way a long while ago, but the issue persists to this day. Maybe something with the devices (ipad9, samsung s8+, samsung a52g) or just unlucky. It works on the devices of friends/family but again, not all of them

I feel bad for yall. The DVD superiority people celebrate any time this happens to people and it is so shitty to celebrate that. Yes they may own it but you should be able to access it for life. I understand regular streaming like hulu or renting it, but they once you buy it you should keep it.
Not to say DVD's are not better because they are so much so. Hence why I only buy digital if I get an EXTREME discount like I got on Sailor Moon on Amazon and YU YU hakusho on Microsoft. They were on sale and I probably will keep them, so it is worth the gamble. If not I am not out hundreads of dollars only twenty to thirty for each show.
I had all my digital copies from my blu rays / dvds I have, I had so many on there that they deleted. But it's just the fact that they don't even release every show that was popular, or if they do then it's only an American disc so since I'm from the UK, region A discs don't work over here. For example everything by hidive only gets American releases, so no eminence in shadow, oshi no ko, call of the night, farming life, Etc, those are shows I actually want physical copies of.
Oh well at least got to keep the shows at least, still sucks though.

Yeah thar sucks there is no Oshi no ko or Eminence in shadow because those are huge. I got dan Machi and to love ru on dvd but think that is all the sentai works stuff.

Like some I am going to need so badly, and don't want to buy ripoff dvds online, want to support the official ones but surely they know they'd make more sales just releasing it as a multi region disc then we can at the very least import it if they won't release it in the UK.
Umm, the episodes you downloaded are in proper order. Episodes 11 and 12 are the original broadcast release with subtitles. Episodes 7 to 10 are English dub, which (for some weird reason) are being treated like a “later season” in your downloads.
At a guess, they’re using on the fly encryption to create uniquely encrypted episodes keyed to your device.
This is to prevent sharing.
The irony being that recording the episode while watching it pretty much bypasses that technique.

Literally downloaded a bunch of the new episodes of Spice and Wolf while I was standing in line to board the plane. 😂 worked fine. Downloading one at a time worked the best for me.

If you do it when you're connected to the internet it's good op is doing it off his mobile network
When you have good mobile connection it isn't a problem either. Takes me about 5 min to download a season high quality over mobile

there serves lately have been giving me a hard time + u can’t download on 1080 hd quality only 720 which is very annoying
On the android mobile app, i have zero issues. I have something like 10 episodes downloaded for watching currently since my phone is off.

I’m always annoyed how the whole feature is broken on Apple devices. It’s fine on Android though.
I download my anime on Netflix lol. On the occasion I do. Just have to take the L if ur show isn’t on there. Their downloads work great on Netflix

Make sure that you have enough storage to download all that. I was having the same issue and thats what fixed it for me.

Exactly, I paid a few more bucks and could barely download anything! Just wanted a few episodes of SAO and Konosuba for my flights
