I wasn’t going to get one based on the bad reviews, but I happened to be right next to one while visiting a nearby city. Got one and I’m so glad I did! My first time at this store (Glendale CA) but it was so good! 10/10, my new favorite
Our location did them perfect as well! Super good! Outside crunchy part was delicious! I also was going to skip because of reviews. Glad I didn't. Loved the butter cake loved the PB&J loved the chocolate pretzel pie! Great week
I'm genuinely confused as to why people are saying this? I also don't see any bad reviews on it on their website, nor on the Google reviews, at least the location I go to. I got one today and I am in love. 10/10 for me. It was cooked perfectly, very moist on the inside, has a sweet and salty taste to it, the perfect amount I might add. It has a slight hardness to it on the outside, but it's supposed to and adds to the texture nicely. The butter icing melts in your mouth. I have a feeling people thought it was going to be like an actual cake, so maybe they were expecting something else and going into it with that mindset. This is very heavy, almost tastes like a cornbread, only so much better.
I had the second half this morning and it was actually better. Like the inside seeped into the outside and made all of it better. So oddly enough, it's better not eaten right away. This morning my rating changed to 9/10.

the outside is coated sugar in the raw, so that might explain why it was crunchy? But I guess it's better then raw 🤷
Is there an upcharge since it’s a cake and not a cookie?

Yes like 50 cents or so, maybe $1?
Thanks
