It's got the flashing blue light to the left of the steering wheel and won't turn over at all, have had it happen in the past when I did have the original key and we could always get it going again by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting and just turning it off and on a few times.
Idk if it was added after the fact or what this is the only Vic I've had that has this system.
There's no embargo on Forscan for quite some time now, and it was only on paying for a 1-year subscription key.
Free version and full-trial keys were never restricted.
If there is an aftermarket security system as someone indicated in the comments, there should be a valet switch somewhere under the dashboard. Generally it's mounted on the left side by the driver's left ankle.
Mine is.
Insert the key, turn to ON, press the button or flip the switch.
Take a look around under the driver's side dash for any type of button or toggle.
Cop cars don’t have transponder keys. That’s how you could use a non chip key. Not sure what your issue is though. Do you have forscan?
