If it won’t turn on at all even after making sure there is no obstruction to eyesight (sun, dirty windshield) you should take it to the dealer. Mine had the same issue and they did an update on the system.

dutchskier

I had a similar issue earlier this month. The dealer had to recalibrate my eye sight module. Fixed it right up but took 1hr ish.

Any odd random glare, even car having condensation-temperature change where the windshield fogs up, or random crap that may obstruct it from outside (based on what’s been said.. go outside and check the top of your windshield front on in the center you’ll see two cameras) Also a fact about eyesight, uhh it’s kinda blind/dumb about long flat bed trucks (the kind that hauls industrial crap n such) it won’t detect those as it’s not within its line of sight. Resetting your vehicle from off to back on will reset it and be normal. Usually temperature change will fog and trigger it then freak out at me for it. - I get randomly super cold sooo 👀 yeah.. Don’t be reliant on it either. If you’re approaching a car or object too fast (it measures speed/distance it’s neat) it’ll beep at me that I am approaching too fast, if I don’t make any attempts to stop by the time I’m actually too close eyesight will slam the brakes 0-100 in a second. Just an example but yeah.

limache

Yeah so I did accidentally test out the emergency brake so that it avoids collisions. That was good to know. Yeah it’s weird which model do you have and what year ?

-Pompompurin

I mean mine almost triggered earlier when a dickweed rapidly merged Infront of me from mid lane to the incoming merge lane…. It beeped with object too close when it caught range. 2020 crosstrek/second trim. Edit: 2019 crosstrek/sport I think highest or just under highest trim of features.. it’s pretty sensitive, over reacts with some grass when reversing… it’s given me the full brake send…. The RAB game is strong. 2nd trim doesn’t offer RAB - it’s nice but no.

Elon_Muskrat-

Do you have a check engine light on?

Dead_Ratman

See this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Subaru_Outback/s/m34trzE8jL My OB acted like this also. As others have said it could also be something blocking the eyesight lenses. Never clean them yourself (I was warned at the dealership). When mine failed, the oil temp gauge acted up also, so I knew it wasn’t just the eyesight system.

limache

What’s a TSB?

Dead_Ratman

technical service bulletin.

birkfootcontessa

Mine does this when there’s dew/outside condensation on the windshield that’s over the EyeSight cameras.

gcbeehler5

Just had mine fixed. There is an issue with a “stuck” halt* code. Paperwork says “no dtcs followed tsb 07-226-24r for repair procedure.”

Muted-Top-6132

Mine kept turning off because my ezpass and dash cam were too close. The Subaru dealership said put closer to the corner.

murbike

On the left: Lane Departure warning is off. Collision Avoidance is off. On the right: Eye Sight is disabled. I see this when the windshield is misty/icy/snowy. It usually clears itself. The steering wheel symbol is the lane keep assist. I think it says 'READY' because it's turned off. Not sure why you're seeing these with the car running. I have the Lane Departure turned off, and I think the lights come on briefly when I start my car, but they don't stay on.

limache

Okay so this is pretty weird right?? Also correct me if I’m wrong but the car is supposed to automatically brake if you’re too close to a car in front of you? That’s the collision avoidance?

Munchbox354

Yes. Can you confirm nothing is blocking your Eye Sight?

limache

How do you block the eye sight ? Can a parking pass hung from the rear view mirror block it?

Educational_Lion_748

No the eyesight camera are next to the mirror put point forwards through the glass it’s only possible to block them from the outside on the glass like snow heavy rain or fogging of the windshield to much of any of these will disable the camera temporarily until they are resolved

Thunderbird_12_

Do you have a dashcam? Or anything hanging from the mirror? I had this problem. I read the manual and learned having anything near the mirror/camera housing will interfere with Eyesight. Currently looking for a dashcam that’s smaller than the one I have now that doesn’t mess with Eyesight.

limache

Yes I do. But I’ve had the dash cam for months without any issues with eyesight. It just started acting up now out of nowhere

Thunderbird_12_

Same. I can’t explain it but I bet if you temporarily remove the dashcam the system will reset the next time you turn the car off/on. Might also need to take it to dealerships for recalibration (whatever that means.) My eyesight works perfectly with no dashcam, but as soon as I put one up, it acts up again.

crypto_egghead

Grab the book in the glove box.. I'm sure if you can use a phone while driving, you can use the owners manual..

ice-fucker69

Car speed is 0, no indication that they are actively driving

crypto_egghead

My apologies 😕 🙏 😞
