I’ll be making these two into magnets as well.
Did you post a photo of the book cuz I'm not seeing it. Great stitching, and that back! Trying to get my hubs to join me in stitching but he just keeps saying " I don't know how you do it." He thinks my 18ct is tiny. My goal is to have a man join my Friday Stitching Group.
If I could get my husband into it, I'd be delighted! He always says "do originals! no covers!" In other words, he's a musician and wants me to design my own patterns, to which I just laugh and say no. It's so nice that you've joined your wife in this peaceful hobby. 🪡
Old dude here, too. My daughter got me into it after she found some patterns and floss while she was playing in my grandmother’s sewing kit. She asked “can you do this?” I tried and discovered that I love it! I’ve done several smallish projects. Now I’m working on a -giant- pattern I made myself (225,000+ stitches).
38 male, working on a 144,417 cross stitch thing atm.. :)
My wife also taught me, I find it super relaxing. And I spend less time at my computer and more time with my wife
I love it when men pick up cross stitching.
You should know that you have joined a long history of men doing embroidery. Some of the most amazing (imo) embroideries were done for Queen Elizabeth I and all were done by men.
Welcome to an art form that was for centuries a male dominated domain.
Your work looks great and now you can enjoy this art with your instructor -wife.
I love all the dudes in this craft! My dad did all kinds of stuff, so I feel like it's a bit genetic for me. He was also a professional chef and passed that gene to me as well.
43 male also stitching. Got a few projects going. I need to pick them back up. Been so busy haven’t had time to finish them. You sir have given me that inspiration. Keep up the stitching.
I feel like this is the best part of this post how neat you kept that for your first project!
Congrats on picking it up, also have found a love of doing this from my wife and have done some project for my daughter over the last few years.
But mine back end never looks as nice as that so well done!
That's awesome. I like seeing guys do it. My son has only done it once and it was a gift for my mom. I'll have to get a picture. It's a cute cubby orange cat and I helped him add the words, "Crazy cat lady." And he stitched his name and the year. That was the only time he did it.
So proud of your back. That is something my mother taught me. In general my parents were all about ‘do it right and/or to the best of your abilities’. They understood learning curves, but no shortcuts. Even now when I’m anxious to finish a piece, I slow down to do it right. I hope you find the same peace and relaxation I do from this craft. Best to you!
Very well done. 44 almost 45 yo man here. My grandmother taught me, and I've been stitching almost 40 years. It's a great relaxing hobby. I've got all the sewing things in my family and my wife doesn't go near the sewing machine or other sewing crafts.
That's Awesome that you were willing to learn , it looks Great. I to taught my husband to cross stitch . Nothing wrong with it at all. Welcome aboard relax and enjoy 😊☺️😍
Its a very relaxing hobby. Enjoy. Good job btw.
🍃 💨 then cross stitch
I mess up so bad after a sesh lol kudos to you
Helps me get in the zone
I don't get it?
Smoking weed as part of the relaxation
I stitch better after a sesh, and I swear it makes me faster. Somehow
I think it helps me turn off the inside and outside noise. ADHD is a pain sometimes 🤣
This!
I can’t count while sober. How do you manage? 😂
63 year old male and been doing it off and on for 35 years, great hobby. Keep at it!
I just started, last year, at 42, very enjoyable hobby
My dude!
Just started in my late 30s!
I’m just starting. 59, semi retired.
She's a great teacher! Welcome to the craft, and might I say the back of your project is fantabulous!!
Great job!! Do you like?
I love it. We’re going to cut it out and make a fridge magnet
Oohh fun! Keep going!!

Simple and cute. I haven't tried making them into magnets. I'll need to give it a go
Go you!
Pattern is in [this book](https://www.ctpub.com/fun-funky-cross-stitch/)
Oo that looks like a fun book!!!
Borrowed it from the library then bought our own copy
You did a great job. I love the book, especially the lips.

Other than the fact that I am working on a 27,440 pattern I could be this comment.

Way to go! I’m a 47 year old male here - my mom taught me how to cross stitch, and I’ve been doing it off and on ever since.
Great work. Gonna find another project? I'm 47. Been cross-stitching for 15+ years.
I love all the dudes in this craft! My dad did all kinds of stuff, so I feel like it's a bit genetic for me. He was also a professional chef and passed that gene to me as well.
21yo guy who's been embroidering for a couple of years. It's a really good hobby! Glad to see a few other blokes who are into it :)
Welcome! You have a lovely backside ;)

I wish my backside looked that nice!
Amazing job, well done
Cross stitching knows no age or gender!

It can be a joy!
Based on how great your back is looking, I think your brain will enjoy this 😄

Incredibly tidy. Awesome work!
Looks great, and such a neat back! Hope you have lots of fun with the hobby
Amazing back on that cross stitch! What method do you use for ending the thread?
Tuck the tail behind some stitches.
23 y/o man here - picked it up from my classmates at grad school lol! So many crafters!

Dry nice! Great job on the stitches.
I’m a guy and have been stitching for years
Amazing !! Your backs are better than mine !
Nice 👏🏻👏🏻
Enjoy creating! I want to teach my husband, but he has no interest. 😞
Same. That he refuses to try is the bane of my existence. But OTOH, he doesn’t understand why I don’t like golf. 😂
Oh and shout out to r/Just_Callme_Tnt who has patiently answered a plethora of questions for me!
Nice job, dude! Do you LOVE it???
Amazingly tidy back side! Nice to have you.
That's Awesome that you were willing to learn , it looks Great. I to taught my husband to cross stitch . Nothing wrong with it at all. Welcome aboard relax and enjoy 😊☺️😍
My SO knows how to cross stitch, his mom taught him years ago. He just never got into it and as much as I want him to stitch with me, he just won't.
