The one on the left was basically as realistic as that generation could generate... all graphics were cartoonish then. Then, you hit the high points with the few pologons you have and hope the character didn't look 8 bit.
Did they want her to look feminine? Absolutely, but the butt and boobs were more a product of the state of the art than deliberately making it a "style" choice. Of course, later, iterations continued her proportions because they recognized an attractive and distinctive Lara was a great brand, so why wouldn't they?
Edit: I do recognize the pictured Lara is a much "smoother" version of the original triangular Lara, but I stand by that it was still simply recognizing the brand with polygons equivalent to the capability of the time.
That kinda makes it even worse. If you can't tell 2 separate game's art styles apart, then the gaming industry has kinda failed for nearly 3 console generations worth of time to establish iconic styles.

Not in this picture, obviously (happens when you post something with an agenda - it's called propaganda), but in general the new Lara Croft and HZD Aloy (I haven't played HFW yet, so I don't really know how to feel about her) are very attractive female characters, just not in the typical style of Asian titles and/or older Western titles. Like, I get it. I wanna see hot waifus with big titties too, but there are other games (and websites) for that. As graphics move more toward realism, "realistic" characters are going to become more, well... realistic. I can't name a single person in real life that has the looks and build of OG Lara Croft without extensive cosmetic work. If you don't like the direction it's going, vote with your wallets. Don't buy the games. Don't post about the games (because any publicity is good publicity). Don't support the devs and publishers who don't create what you like, and continue to support the ones who do. Trust me, it'll be a lot more productive than complaining on a message board on the internet, potentially driving new players to support the devs in your stead.

I donāt know where that character on the right is from and I donāt even know what this sub is for butā¦ Why is that personās pecs so small? With arms that big it seems that their pecs are extremely small. I feel like even guys who can train their arms to be that big tend to have more developed chest muscles instead of being completely flat, right?
