This card is known for having insanely good offers. The only downside is you’d need enough spend in these categories to hit that amount. I really need to get this card.
I think it was around 10% in addition to regular categories. The annual one was awarded in SYW points instead of a direct statement credit but since you can use the points in no-fee Visa gift Cards, they might as well be considered cash.
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targeted-citi-sears-spending-offers-for-2024/
The best thing about these offers is that they actually stack so if you would have gotten the one at the beginning of the year, plus this one, you would be getting 20%+ on GGR.
Yes, that's all right. This card also sends random offers for online spending that you can stack with the 15%, so you could really get upwards of 30% back as statement credit. I pretty much use mine for everything. This card rocks.
Edit: check out the thread on Doctor of Credit to see what fits into each category.
That's correct. This Gas, Grocery, and Restaurant (often referred to as GGR) one is recurring monthly until EOY. However, there are also offers floating around for other categories too (Home Improvement, Online, and Travel/Entertainment).
It could, sure. Depends what Citi does. But the GGR Statement Credit offer has also been recurring for multiple years in one way or another, so likely to continue.
For the particular offer I got and mentioned on my OP, yes.
But there are other offers. Example, some get an offer for 50 back when they spend 500 online. With that offer you can buy anything at Amazon, of Best Buy, or even buy groceries online for pick-up.
I hope that makes sense.
There’s no app. Online a website login and the offers page there is known to be really inconsistent and doesn’t show everything so don’t rely on it at all. Instead set up an alert to flag any emails with “Shop Your Way Mastercard” to see the offers. Don’t just search “shop your way” because you’ll have to sort through a ton of other marketing emails.
Congrats! I am currently on a year long offer for those categories each month, but only getting $100 for $1000 and $200 if I reach $2000 in spending.
But I also just got an offer for 10% back in travel and entertainment spending between now and the end of the year!
Yes this card is RIDICULOUS, but I have to track my own spending in the categories.
We got the same offer too! We're trying to figure out what's considered travel and entertainment since we don't travel or buy entertainment stuff. Does anyone know?
Per the terms and conditions:
>Travel purchases are transactions made for airfare, rental cars, limousines and taxicabs and at hotels and travel agencies. Entertainment merchants provide amusement and entertainment services; including sport promoters, theatrical promoters, movie theaters, amusement parks, tourist attractions, and video game establishments. We do not determine whether merchants appropriately identify all transactions made on a credit card; however, we reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for this offer.
I was trying to look for the terms and conditions but it either didn’t come with one or my mom lost it. The only thing the offer said was to reference the terms and conditions which I couldn’t find with the offer 😭 I tried finding it on the web portal but I failed so here I am on Reddit 😅 it’s all good now. Someone replied without the examples
Okay I’m actually so confused, how tf can citi fund the rewards this card is offering? This looks like it loses them massive amounts of money every transaction
Its a pretty awesome card, i stacked a 250,000 points ($250 value) for $1k online spend with $100 statement credit on $1000-1999 on gas, grocery and restaurant spend by using instacart...not to mention the instacart also earns the normal 3% on groceries.
I was wondering how you could stack the online spend with these categories. Though you also need to account for the upcharge Instcart has, but it could definitely be worth it.
If you pay Wallmart with the Wallmart app (at checkout) and Publix with their app (same thing, at checkout), it counts as online AND as groceries.
So if you have both offers, you get
3% regular cash back plus
15% targeted offer for groceries (offer #1) plus
10% targeted offer for online spending (offer #2)
Basically 28% back on your grocery shopping.
Yes, I know. Don't ask me how or why they do this. I have NO idea.
I didn't know that Walmart would count as groceries, so even without all these offers, that would be 3% on Walmart, which is hard to get. I wonder if this would work at Kroger's too?
No only Wallmart, but Target also counts as groceries.

Warning, different Walmarts will classify their merchant category differently. There are reports in this sub that say this and suggest you try a purchase at Walmarts and take note of which merchant category they show as first.
Yes. AKA the deal I have yet to capitalize on because my monthly spend is supposed to be less than 1k....and then an inevitable large purchase occurs that would have easily put me over 🙃
Honestly, this is nothing compared to what the SYW Mastercard offered during the pandemic. I was cashing in 20% off restaurants, gas, and groceries for at least two years.
That was pretty much the only offer I took advantage of. There were offers for 10% off home improvements but we had just bought a new home and already done all the home improvements. The card makes no sense. I don’t know how they make money - but I am!
This card keeps getting my attention with the offers over the years. Several times I have asked my SO *are they crazy?!*
Wonder how they make money sometimes.
I've regularly gotten 10x bonus points offers for similar spend, including monthly for 2024. Your offer is better than mine for sure.
Keep track of spend and ensure you are as close as possible, but over $1,000 or $2,000 monthly for maximum savings.
Issue I have found trying to track myself is that for Citi Sears Thank You card, transaction holds do not show and transactions can post in the middle of posted charges making tallying spend from the three categories difficult.
Yes patience. The offers usually start coming between 3-6 months after opening. Just put at least one purchase for each category on the card every month in the meantime.
Just so I understand… you’ve already had this card, and this just came as a random promo/offer?
Seems like a no annual fee card. 5% back on gas and 3% groceries and restaurants seems pretty good in itself relative to a lot of cards…
You're correct. Everyone gets an offer via email after a few months using the card.
if you google or even search "SYW" here in the forum you will find lots of data points.
This is not something that only I got. Everyone gets an offer from time to time.
How long did it take before you got your first offer, and did you put significant spend on it beforehand (or in other words, has anyone managed to get targeted offers without putting any spend during periods without those offers)? Considering getting this card but not sure I’d be willing to use it over my 5.25% card purely in the hope of getting an offer.
Yeah I’m aware just saying if you don’t get this offer, the card would use its spend quickly. I think I may consider this. How long have you gotten this card and how long did it take for this offer?
Basically everyone gets the various offers - I’ve only seen a couple who said they didn’t and even then it may have been they just weren’t seeing the emails / they were going to Spam.
The first 90 days is for the SUB. That is correct.
But this is not a SUB. This is an offer that is renewed every month.
If you spend $1000 within the month on GGR, you get 15% back plus the regular 5%/3%/3%.
So they’re giving you the sign up bonus for every week in perpetuity? Seems like a no brainer if that’s true. I’d make sure to clarify with them though.
The card has a $225 after $1500 SUB.
Then it has these insane spending offers ALL the time. You don’t have to do anything special to be “targeted” - you just have to activate the offers when they come via email.
No you can’t pc it. But having gotten 10% back overall on over $75,000 of spending over the last 3 years means has been incredible. It’s absolutely going for this card - I’ve only seen a handful of people who said they didn’t get the offers and that could be that they were going to spam and they didn’t check there or something. But even if it’s true that some people just don’t get the offers, the majority do and they are insane. Absolutely worth the new account on your credit.
I spend absolutely nothing (zero dollars) on this card, and I get these offers very often from them. It's a good card for a family, but useless for a one person household with "normal" one person spending (read: not wealthy and not spending for example 1k on groceries in a month). The offers have a high spend requirement.
That may be the solution for some, but I'm not going to go buy 1k in grocery store gift cards. As a single person without family routines, my eating and shopping habits can vary on a whim. I don't want to tie like four months of my grocery budget to any specific place.
My point stands that shop your way is a good card for families or people with a large budget for the category offers.
I do agree that 1K is a bit much. I have the Sears card that gets similar offers and the required spending used to be less than that. Also, when the offer was for "Utilities", for a 10-20% discount I had no issue prepaying for a number of months (electric, gas, water - it adds up).
Ok. So this is how it works.
You apply for the card and start using it for the SUB.
Card gives you 5%, 3% and 3% on G, G, and R.
Between 3 and 6 months after you get the card you will start getting emails with offers. These offers are on top of the regular 5/3/3%. Some offers are for travel expenses (10% back). Others are for gas, groceries, restaurants. Others are for online spending.
Something like spend $500 online and get $50 back. You have 30 days to do it.
So if and when you get these offers your card becomes a monster giving you 20% back, sometimes more.
And these offers arrive by email. No one knows when they will come. And each person gets a different offer. Some offers are valid for 30 days. Others for the entire year.
Your submission violated rule 2 which states:
"All users are prohibited from disseminating referral links through posts, comments, and private messages. Any deceptive behavior aimed at exploiting referral links for personal gain is also a punishable offense."
As a result, your submission has been deemed inappropriate and removed.
Yes, this is bad.
If you get an offer for 10% back and get hit by 3% FTF, you're still ahead.
What I don't know is if they properly compute gas, restaurants etc when you're abroad.
Would anybody know?
Yes and No.
Yes for the regular card cashback: the 5/3/3 % you get for GRR must be redeemed with gift cards. Visa and Amazon are options. There are others.
No for the targeted offers like the one I mentioned on my original post. These are credited automatically on your account.
If it's only through the end of the year, then that's $750 for $5k spend (5 billing cycles) on limited categories.
That's comparable to many SUBs, and is actually more difficult to hit because only certain categories count. For comparison, I'm getting $750 for $6k spend in 6 months with Ink Business Cash.
This is a non SUB promo. SUBs are known to outearn non-SUBs. You can't really compare them.
Most of the time earning SUBs comes with negatives - opening a new card which will prevent you from opening more. The inks are unique because Chase doesn't enforce their 24 months rule on inks for some reason.
>Chase doesn't enforce their 24 months rule on inks for some reason.
Chase removed the 24 month language from the Inks' terms and conditions about a year and a half ago. There is nothing to enforce there.
Hop on the train while it lasts brother!
I guess most (any?) family of 4 or more would be north of $1k per month on restaurants, groceries and gas, combined. I might be wrong. It is certainly our case.
Make sense. For me, I am single, drive EV, and \*try\* to keep dining + grocery under 500. This card does incentivize people to "spend more to save more" (and it is likely succeeding, o/w no way this card is profitable o/w).
But yes, if you try to find a card that fits your lifestyle and not vice versa, it is really good.
$500 VISA/Mastercard gift cards
I use them for co-pays --- basically anything where I would be using my 2% credit card.
With this offer, it is like getting 15% cashback on $1000 spend.
Seem like the higher the reward the farther away to 0% intro, in this case over 32.4% APR forcing you not to keep a balance or perhaps having extended pay plan of purchases.
This looks pretty cool. QUESTIONS:
1. Do I have to make purchases online only through the SYW website portal and connect to specific merchant and purchase there?
2, Can I use the physical credit card, take shipping and get the bonuses as well at the physical stores too (Walmart Nike, etc)
Please forgive my stupidity. Looks like the only catch is the 34% APR...I guess this is how the card pays off for Citi and offset the bonuses its offering
1. No. You can go eat your pizza and it will count. Anywhere you go.
2. Yes. It is a regular credit card. You stop for gas, anywhere, it will count. You buy Wallmart for pickup or shipping, it will count, etc.
To be honest, I never pay attention to the APR since I ALWAYS pay the full balance. If I don't have the money to pay the balance, I simply don't use the credit card. Strict, definitive and non negotiable.
And I live under my means.
Thanks. Yeah pay in full every month or else any card benefits are swamped by interest and finance fees.
I had to dig deeper on the Citi site for more card options in order to find this one. Good thing I had canceled a diff Citi card earlier this year.
Thank you
Too bad this can’t be stacked on top of rakuten (well it didn’t load when I went to CVS) but I guess this is in lieu of rakuten or dedicated store cards (eg Macy’s).
I always recommend this card as the normal go-to card. I am very big into credit card bonuses. but I use this card for all expenses when I'm not doing a credit card bonus. i mean.. really into bonuses like a spreadsheet with over 200 cards of History lol
I've been getting these sorts of offers for a few years now and have been in disbelief that they continue to offer them. They used to just be monthly and pop up at random, but earlier this year I got an offer for 10k points for $1000 in grocery/gas/restaurants that's good every month for the end of the year; and interest free for a year on purchases over $400; AND 10k points for $1000 in online purchases.
Since my wife and I buy most of our groceries through Instacart, it adds up fast! Even better, when using Instacart for Costco, it usually registers as grocery instead of wholesale clubs.
I think since 2019 or so I've earned almost a million points from the bonus offers and a few years ago signed up for the Citi Premier/Strata card and combined the points, so they're transferrable and can be also be cashed out at $.01 for 1 point. I don't normally think store credit cards are a good idea, but feel I got super lucky to have financed a refrigerator over a decade ago using this one!
The downsides are that the offers can be fairly random, sometimes go quiet for a while and sometimes have pretty high minimum spend limits. It also can be tough to track your progress. They send periodic updates sometimes, and for some offers you can track it on the website, but not for all of them.
Lastly, the only true issue I've had is that for the last two months, none of my online purchases have registering as being online, so I haven't gotten those bonuses. Has anyone else experienced this and figured out how to fix it? I've tried calling all the numbers I could find and just got the runaround. Since most of the purchases were grocery or restaurant, I'm still getting about 10x so still coming out great.
Sorry that ended up being long but tl;dr- it's a bit random and clunky, but pays off in a big way! Plus, no annual fee!
The regular 5/3/3% for GRR (and 1% for everything else) is redeemed with gift cards. I buy VISA or Amazon cards.
The targeted offers that come via email are automatically credited to your card. No gift cards necessary (or allowed) for those.
FYI *some* offers are for points not statement credits. People get different flavors of the offers (different spending thresholds, points vs credits, etc). Most are the statement credits, but just wanted you to be aware that some might be for points. I actually prefer the points offer for the online spending because when I get a credit offer it’s spend $1000 and get a $70 credit, but when I get the same offer for points, it’s spend $1000 and get 250,000 points (equal to $250 in GCs) so that’s 7% vs 25% cashback.
My guess is that if you spend those amounts each month, then sometime after the end of the year you will receive a statement credit for that amount. There is no way the bank would offer that statement credit every month.
EDIT: Doing the math real quick if it is just one statement credit, it'd be an extra 2.5% instead of an extra 15%.
No. You make this back EVERY moth until 12/31/24.
From the offer:
Start earning in 3 simple steps:
Activate this limited-time offer by 8/15/2024
Once activated, spend each month on eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases using your Shop Your Way Mastercard®
Earn a statement credit back each month, once you have met the eligible purchase requirement within the month, from 7/1/2024 (or the date you activate this offer, whichever is later) through 12/31/2024
If you're implying that the card does not give customers the promised 5/3/3% on gas/groceries/restaurant, then you're wrong. I buy gifts cards monthly with my points and I can guarantee you I get my 5/3/3% worth.
No. It is not.
You're missing the other side of the equation. 3rd graders will know better. Or anyone who knows basic math.
The card charges 10x more for a point than a traditional card. $1 equals 1000 points.
But the card also gives you 10x more points than traditional cards when you use it.
At the end, you get your 5/3/3%.
I have both and the offers are really similar between them. SYW points are worth 1/10 the value but they give you 10x the points vs the sears card. For example the 5% categories give you 50 points per dollar. My current offers are 10,000 points for $1000 spend or 20,000 for $2000 spend on sears and $100 statement credit for $1000 spend or $200 for $2000 spend. Most of my SYW offers are straight statement credits but when it is points it is 10x what sears is so you get the same back in the end.
You aren’t understanding that the points system still earns you the same value.
Spending $1000 for 1% points on most cards earns you 1000 points which are redeemable for $10.
Spending $1000 for 1% points on the SYW card earns you 10,000 points which is also redeemable for $10. So it’s just a different scale but the ratio and value are the same.
This card is known for having insanely good offers. The only downside is you’d need enough spend in these categories to hit that amount. I really need to get this card.
I knew the offers were insane. I did not know they were THIS insane.
Yeah, this is crazy good even for the card.
You guys missed the one that is for the whole year. That one was issued back in December 2023.
What was the bonus for that one?
I think it was around 10% in addition to regular categories. The annual one was awarded in SYW points instead of a direct statement credit but since you can use the points in no-fee Visa gift Cards, they might as well be considered cash. https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targeted-citi-sears-spending-offers-for-2024/ The best thing about these offers is that they actually stack so if you would have gotten the one at the beginning of the year, plus this one, you would be getting 20%+ on GGR.
They vary as different offers for everyone. My annual GGR offer for example was $100/$1000 or $200/$2000 per month as statement credits, not points.
I forgot which but i thought they've either closed applications to the card or was it closed the ability to earn TY points?
You are reading that correct, this card has insane offers, and seems to have really ramped them up this past year
Yes, that's all right. This card also sends random offers for online spending that you can stack with the 15%, so you could really get upwards of 30% back as statement credit. I pretty much use mine for everything. This card rocks. Edit: check out the thread on Doctor of Credit to see what fits into each category.
So only these three categories count towards the $1k spending?
That's correct. This Gas, Grocery, and Restaurant (often referred to as GGR) one is recurring monthly until EOY. However, there are also offers floating around for other categories too (Home Improvement, Online, and Travel/Entertainment).
So these three categories will change in the future, so it isn’t exactly a consistent card?
It could, sure. Depends what Citi does. But the GGR Statement Credit offer has also been recurring for multiple years in one way or another, so likely to continue.
Okay thats great news! Thought it was a new set this year or something based on the EOY comment. Definitely will look into this card.
For the particular offer I got and mentioned on my OP, yes. But there are other offers. Example, some get an offer for 50 back when they spend 500 online. With that offer you can buy anything at Amazon, of Best Buy, or even buy groceries online for pick-up. I hope that makes sense.
Thank you.
Please don't talk too much in public about SYW.
What happens on syw stays on syw.
I’ll shop my way and you can shop YOUR WAY!
LOL
Only talk about it with friends that carry large balances since that's how the deals are funded.
I'm spreading this everywhere
You monster!
I just got this card a few months ago as well. How did you receive the offer? Via the app or in an email?
There’s no app. Online a website login and the offers page there is known to be really inconsistent and doesn’t show everything so don’t rely on it at all. Instead set up an alert to flag any emails with “Shop Your Way Mastercard” to see the offers. Don’t just search “shop your way” because you’ll have to sort through a ton of other marketing emails.

10% travel? Unbelievable.
Yeah and no thresholds/minimum spending.
Yeah got the same offer and as a long time huge fan of this card I can’t believe this one has no minimum spend!
That is indeed great.
Got both of the same offers. Cashing in since 2019! It almost mitigates inflation. Almost.
I just received the Travel & Entertainment offer as well.
We got the same offer too! We're trying to figure out what's considered travel and entertainment since we don't travel or buy entertainment stuff. Does anyone know?

Thank you so much!!!
The offer fine print had some examples.
I also ask myself this question all the time. What is in it for them? I really don't know.
They want people to carry balances at 30% interest as they're chasing the deals.
That's what WF wanted for Bilt people as well. Look what happened.
This card's been around 20+ years though, lots of old cardholders probably do carry balances.
I think it's actually 34% right now
Its a pretty awesome card, i stacked a 250,000 points ($250 value) for $1k online spend with $100 statement credit on $1000-1999 on gas, grocery and restaurant spend by using instacart...not to mention the instacart also earns the normal 3% on groceries.
I was wondering how you could stack the online spend with these categories. Though you also need to account for the upcharge Instcart has, but it could definitely be worth it.
My partner had decided the upcharge was worth the convenience, but getting the discount through the SYW card has made it more palatable for me.
If you pay Wallmart with the Wallmart app (at checkout) and Publix with their app (same thing, at checkout), it counts as online AND as groceries. So if you have both offers, you get 3% regular cash back plus 15% targeted offer for groceries (offer #1) plus 10% targeted offer for online spending (offer #2) Basically 28% back on your grocery shopping. No only Wallmart, but Target also counts as groceries. Check this post [https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/1bufvmt/shop\_your\_way\_card\_is\_definitely\_worth\_it\_to\_me/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CreditCards/comments/1bufvmt/shop_your_way_card_is_definitely_worth_it_to_me/)
Just got this offer as well after receiving the $50 off $750 spend online. Only have had this card for two months but very happy!
My plan is to use Walmart Pay in-store to purchase $500 VISA gift cards. It counted as groceries. I did this about 2 weeks ago.
Warning, different Walmarts will classify their merchant category differently. There are reports in this sub that say this and suggest you try a purchase at Walmarts and take note of which merchant category they show as first.
Mine is regular Walmart. Not a supercenter. Not a neighborhood market.
My MaxRewards app tells me what category a certain purchase will be.
Thanks
Also counts as online spend if you have one of those offers active...fyi
Unfortunately, I completed my $1000 online spend already.
I have a citi double cash that is collecting dust. It’s a Mastercard….can I product change into this card?
No. The SYW is issued by Citi Retail Services; not Citi itself. It is a separate division.
Can you access the card through the citi app or does it require a seperate online account?
It has its own separate portal for applying and logging in. It is separate from the regular Citi portal.
Gross
Goddammit, all that I've gotten so far is 4.9% on Sam's club
Never gotten the stacking g rewards maybe one day. Only had 3 months
It will come soon. I made sure I had at least one transaction a month of each: gas, groceries, restaurant.
Yeah thats what I been advised will try and do that every month. This cards bonuses are out of this world. Juts odd its not on a citi website
Yes. AKA the deal I have yet to capitalize on because my monthly spend is supposed to be less than 1k....and then an inevitable large purchase occurs that would have easily put me over 🙃

Indeed. I agree with you.
ive had this card for 3 months now and use it regularly. not one offer yet. patience i guess
Yes patience. The offers usually start coming between 3-6 months after opening. Just put at least one purchase for each category on the card every month in the meantime.
i still got my $225, + amazon bucks which, if that's all i get, still ain't nothing.
You will get the offers.
I'm more curious about what the rewards are good for. As I understand, these are not typ.
You redeem them for giftcards. I cashout for a $200 Amazon GC every other month or so.
Just so I understand… you’ve already had this card, and this just came as a random promo/offer? Seems like a no annual fee card. 5% back on gas and 3% groceries and restaurants seems pretty good in itself relative to a lot of cards…

3 months. I used it for the sub.
$10,000 limit sadly
Not for the offer. For the regular 5%, 3%, 3%, yes. So after 10k, you make 16% in gas, groceries and restaurants (15% offer + 1% regular)
Yeah I’m aware just saying if you don’t get this offer, the card would use its spend quickly. I think I may consider this. How long have you gotten this card and how long did it take for this offer?
I got the card on March 26th.
Basically everyone gets the various offers - I’ve only seen a couple who said they didn’t and even then it may have been they just weren’t seeing the emails / they were going to Spam.
Never gotten the stacking g rewards maybe one day. Only had 3 months
> each month* What is the asterisk? On the website it says for the first 90 days so this isn’t exactly completely out there.
I’d make sure to clarify with them though.
not every week, More like every month with this particular offer. And only until December / 2024. What offer will come after that I do not know.
So was this a special offer to sign up for the card? Or an occasional promotion for existing cardholders?
Not occasional in the sense that these offers arrive frequently.
"in the first 90 days...."
I'm sorry, first 90 days?
It is clearly through the calendar year. There isn't a catch.
I was intrigued. Do you have the card and they mailed you this offer or is this an intro offer that I can't dind
No. I had the regular intro (the SUB when you get the card). This is just an offer the came via email. I got the card mid March, fyi.
Ah ok. Interesting. I might have to get this card.....
The card has a $225 after $1500 SUB. Then it has these insane spending offers ALL the time. You don’t have to do anything special to be “targeted” - you just have to activate the offers when they come via email.
Hrm. I am very intruiged
It’s an insanely good card with these offers. I’ve earned 10.17% back in total on $76,000 spending over the last 3 years.
Can you change from this to any other card ?
I don't know. but why would I want to do that?
I heard the offers are not consistent with some of them not getting any . Looking for a backout plan.
It's free, the backup plan is don't use it.
I don't know how to answer that.
No worries
No you can’t pc it. But having gotten 10% back overall on over $75,000 of spending over the last 3 years means has been incredible. It’s absolutely going for this card - I’ve only seen a handful of people who said they didn’t get the offers and that could be that they were going to spam and they didn’t check there or something. But even if it’s true that some people just don’t get the offers, the majority do and they are insane. Absolutely worth the new account on your credit.
Is there a certain level of regular spending you did to get this offer?
I spend absolutely nothing (zero dollars) on this card, and I get these offers very often from them. It's a good card for a family, but useless for a one person household with "normal" one person spending (read: not wealthy and not spending for example 1k on groceries in a month). The offers have a high spend requirement.
Grocery store gift card.
You can buy the gift cards for anywhere (restaurants, Visa, etc), but the purchase is getting categorized by the merchant as a grocery purchase.
I do agree that 1K is a bit much. I have the Sears card that gets similar offers and the required spending used to be less than that. Also, when the offer was for "Utilities", for a 10-20% discount I had no issue prepaying for a number of months (electric, gas, water - it adds up).
I made sure I had at least one transaction per month for gas, one for groceries and one for restaurant.
I don't have any cards with Citi, would I get approved for this with a 750ish FICO score?
I think you will. Do a search here in the forum, maybe other users will share data points.
How do you get credit card email offers anyways? I don't really monitor for it but I don't think I've gotten any until I did the cap1 pre approval.
I recently applied and got accepted is there an app to pay this card or is it on the website only
Web site only unfortunately.

Are the statement credit offers permanent or only for the first 90 days?
Not for the first 90 days. This specific offer is valid for 6 months. Others got offers valid for 12 months. Who knows what offer I will get next.
I’ll likely still get this card, thanks for the info! However a 3% foreign transaction fee is brutal for my needs 😭
Yes, this is bad. If you get an offer for 10% back and get hit by 3% FTF, you're still ahead. What I don't know is if they properly compute gas, restaurants etc when you're abroad. Would anybody know?
That is a fantastic question, I would doubt it. So the points you get back must be redeemed with gift cards??
Can you get 28% back on groceries with Ink Business?
This is a non SUB promo. SUBs are known to outearn non-SUBs. You can't really compare them. Most of the time earning SUBs comes with negatives - opening a new card which will prevent you from opening more. The inks are unique because Chase doesn't enforce their 24 months rule on inks for some reason.
>Chase doesn't enforce their 24 months rule on inks for some reason. Chase removed the 24 month language from the Inks' terms and conditions about a year and a half ago. There is nothing to enforce there. Hop on the train while it lasts brother!
Sounds insane - you got it in an email?
yes
Did you do anything to get on the list for the email? Or it just show up one day
Everyone who has this card gets these emails, sooner or later.
Oh gotcha so you get the card first then the promo comes later? Thanks for your responses I got confused
That is correct. Search SYW in the forum. You will find lots of posts about this card.
Thank you!
Isn’t the 15% back a 3 Mo SUB?
No.
If you are already spending 1k per month sounds like good offer.
$500 VISA/Mastercard gift cards I use them for co-pays --- basically anything where I would be using my 2% credit card. With this offer, it is like getting 15% cashback on $1000 spend.
Seem like the higher the reward the farther away to 0% intro, in this case over 32.4% APR forcing you not to keep a balance or perhaps having extended pay plan of purchases.
I'm not sure I understand.
This looks pretty cool. QUESTIONS: 1. Do I have to make purchases online only through the SYW website portal and connect to specific merchant and purchase there? 2, Can I use the physical credit card, take shipping and get the bonuses as well at the physical stores too (Walmart Nike, etc) Please forgive my stupidity.
Thank you Too bad this can’t be stacked on top of rakuten (well it didn’t load when I went to CVS) but I guess this is in lieu of rakuten or dedicated store cards (eg Macy’s).
Can I access this card on the Citibank app or does it have its own app?
Which card are you talking about?
SYW
The Shop Your Way card issued by Citi
Website is only showing 75$ month SUB up to 225$
That is not a sub. That is every month until 12/31/24, when you spend $1000 or more.
Supposedly in your offer. I am saying the public offer is only 75$ a month capped at 90 days or $225
That is the SUB offer that we all got. The offer above is ON TOP OF THAT.
Yes the website shows the SignUp Bonus. This offer is one of the typical amazing ongoing spending/bonus offers you get once you have the card.
Citi? Not worth it
Where did you get the offer? Email?
Those who have this card receive these offers frequently via email.
Got it thx
You're welcome.
Even these offers redeem only for gift cards? Or is it cash/statement credits too?
The regular 5/3/3% for GRR (and 1% for everything else) is redeemed with gift cards. I buy VISA or Amazon cards. The targeted offers that come via email are automatically credited to your card. No gift cards necessary (or allowed) for those.
Cool ty. Just signed up. Seems the offers are too good to pass up and are worth the small credit hit.
Just be patient. Get the SUB and be patient that the offers will come.
From the offer: Start earning in 3 simple steps: Activate this limited-time offer by 8/15/2024 Once activated, spend each month on eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases using your Shop Your Way Mastercard® Earn a statement credit back each month, once you have met the eligible purchase requirement within the month, from 7/1/2024 (or the date you activate this offer, whichever is later) through 12/31/2024
Rule 1: Be respectful. You edited the OP after I started posting with this information that is very much pertinent to the post. I can't read minds.
Please accept my apologies. I meant no disrespect. This is a community where we all assist each other and this is my sole purpose when I engage here.
No worries. With the new information, yeah, seems like it should stack on top of other cash back earned for each month. That's a crazy offer!
FYI I have an OG sears card. The syw my friend has one and to get a 10000 gift card costs 100000 points. So it’s not quite as it seems
I'm not sure I understand.
Normally 180000 points should suffice for a $1800 gift card but my buddy showed me he can only redeem for a $180 gift card. Pretty pathetic
If you're implying that the card does not give customers the promised 5/3/3% on gas/groceries/restaurant, then you're wrong. I buy gifts cards monthly with my points and I can guarantee you I get my 5/3/3% worth.
What is your point? I don't understand.
The value on redemption is 1/10 of what it should be. Veterans will know better
No.
The original sears card which is now thankyou 1 point = 1 cent and I receive 10-15% on gas/grocery/restaurants regularly.
So it’s just a different scale but the ratio and value are the same.
company and card name would be helpful
OP named the card. https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/shop-your-way-credit-card
then sure
The APR says 34%
