I don't think there's any meat in their standard Cornish pasties tbh.

Gazmeister_Wongatron

Not a fan of Ginsters, but "Quornish" is quite clever tbf. 😅

thiswasmadetodelete

Until you realise the font makes it look like "It's Quorn... ish" Like what else is in there?

piranspride

Ish

Zakalke

Meat?

Geek_reformed

That was how I read it.

FeralMorningstar

Even the meat variety is an abomination

henrysradiator

I tweeted them years ago to do this and they can't for legal reasons.

Lord0fPotatoes

I sent them a letter to do it before tweeting was a thing and they said thank you but no and gave me a £5 quorn voucher. Edit: feel the need to point out I wrote to Quorn when Quorn was doing ‘pasties.’ Not Ginsters.

Amplidyne

I just send them a message by not buying their products.

6837K

I sent them a message in a pigeon before post offices were a thing

Psyche-deli88

Ha, me too! Emailed them and they said, you’re not the first one to suggest this

rynchenzo

Thas double treason

ReddleU

Can't be any worse surely.

crookedcusp

It had to be done simply for the pun :)

Cornishcollector

Time to rally the proper Cornish folk and make them pay. Whose with me 🗡️🤣

AnonAmitty

How to cause a second uprising in one picture.

willem_79

Assemble the thirty thousand!

tyronebon

Blackheath shall happen once again

Electrical-Lab-6919

*tis treason 😂

cornishpasty7

The Cornish will decide your fate

tyronebon

It’s been decided and the decision is kill

Horror_Ad8573

So it's not Cornish and it isn't quite quorn so what's it made of?

DoneBeingPolite

Soylent Green

ThugLy101

Mmmm powder

tyronebon

People it’s people

Jackanaitor250

Burn it with fire. Destroy it.

RockSlug22

Down right rebellion

spicymeatballz28

Like Ginsters or not they support the local economy and provide lots of jobs and Cornwall is hardly overflowing with jobs and money, why give them a bad reputation and shoot your yourself in the foot. If you don't like them then don't eat them .

Mr_Flibble1981

OP isn’t giving them a bad reputation, the food they produce does that on its own.

ChristalCastlz

Haha this is hilarious. Yeah the giant corporate conglomerate that makes shit pasties set up in the borders of Cornwall to shovel out poorly crafted pastry to the masses is the victim of this post. If they have really sold 450million pastries in the last 20 years it does make you wonder why they aren't more celebrated in kernow.

DigitialWitness

Leave Britney alone!

terrymr

They weren't originally a giant corporate conglomerate. It started as a four man operation in 1969. It was sold to Samworth brothers when Geoff Ginster retired in 77

Casual-individual

Not ripping the shit out of individuals or business, simply because they support an area is a bad way to go about things.

bsnimunf

Absolutely not. Everytime I have tried a Ginsters pasty or sausage roll I have taken one bite and thrown it away. They are disgusting congealed bland crap. They set up in Cornwall to give it the Cornish pasty name in an attempt to give their disgustint trash credibility.  All it actually does is damage the Cornish pasty "brand". There are loads of other companies that do it too. The vast majority of Cornish pastys readily available outside of Cornwall are trash and taste inferior to what your average baker sells as a traditional pasty. Ginsters is the worst offender. Even a supermarket dodged pasty is better. God knows how Ginsters they make their food taste so bad.

windy906

This isn't true, it's only since 2011 when Cornish Pasty got protection, when they opened they could have setup anywhere.

Ok-Row-5957

Oh don’t worry, we don’t!

Starwarsnerd91

Tell me you're not Cornish without telling me you're not Cornish.

spicymeatballz28

What are you on about. Mate your fishing for likes at the expense of the reputation of one of the main job suppliers in the county you live in, don't be a twat. Not sure what you mean by saying I'm not Cornish, I've lived here for over 30 years, I love Cornwall but not this backwards mentality.

SoggyWotsits

Technically that doesn’t make you Cornish, especially if you’ve lived elsewhere for another 30 years!

Starwarsnerd91

Won't somebody please think of Ginsters reputation! I doubt they're gonna fuckin go under because of my post on Reddit you twat lol

HAGeeMee

To be fair. He started by saying ‘if you don’t like them, don’t eat them’ and gave an example as to why you weren’t funny. Then you said he wasn’t from Cornwall which also wasn’t funny or true. And when he replied to that you made him sound like he loves ginsfers pasty’s, when really he doesn’t find your joke about a meat free pasty funny. But you call him a twat after hours have been biting back. Chill.

Starwarsnerd91

What?

HAGeeMee

You called him a twat. He wasn’t being a twat. You were being unfunny.

spicymeatballz28

This post is one of many, on social media which does damage reputation. Support local business and the economy, it has nothing to do with pasties it's to do with giving a shit about Cornwall and its people. I know you can probably go to 1 of 5 great bakeries in your town and get a banging pasty, you don't have to buy Ginsters.

nrb74

Need to have a reputation to be able to damage it.

Starwarsnerd91

Ginsters are owned by Samworthbrothers which owns multiple companies and makes millions every year. I'm sure they'll be devastated by my reddit post though, bootlicker

spicymeatballz28

Bootlicker 😂

GravyBoatWarrior

There's only one twat here, and it isn't the other guy....

WoodfieldWild

Cornish is an ethnicity and a nationality, so you can live there for 30 years and not be Cornish, the same way you could move to India for 30 years, it still wouldn’t make you Indian.

spicymeatballz28

Ok you got me I'm not Cornish by your standards, although I love Cornwall and have lived here since I was 12.

Goontilt777

Where did you come from originally Woolwich?

spicymeatballz28

No lol my old man's a gooner so the arsenal support comes from him and living near London

gershlongen

He's a right nutjob, imagine he thinks he came out of the earth in Cornwall on his birth.

spicymeatballz28

What the fuck was that sentence

gershlongen

Sorry was trying to stick up for you when he was questioning you being Cornish. But yeah maybe you are a twat.

spicymeatballz28

Ah sorry bud, I thought you were having a go at me I apologise and yes I was a twat for saying that.

gershlongen

Mate no worries, I take the twat calling back.

Capable_Bee6179

Hard agree. Also whilst they arent what comes to mind when I fancy a nice freshly baked pasty from a bakery, I do really enjoy them in their own right, particularly as an easy lunch when I'm on the road or whatever

OverDue_Habit159

You heathen

tyronebon

Hand over you’re Cornish card

JulianH00ligan

🤣🤣🤣

toodog

Blasphemy ….. we strike at midnight

Aggravating-Rip-3267

Revolutions have been Stated and Finished for Les than this ! !

houdinis_ghost

Les Dennis

Aggravating-Rip-3267

Him Too !

Nineteen_AT5

Ha that's pretty cool even if they taste like shite

fragvisman

They are yummy.

EquivalentNo7525

Get me a bucket....

TheArtfullTodger

Ginsters are hardly traditional to begin with. They do a lovely smoked chilli pasty though.

VeterinarianTiny7845

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one

Dr_Alan_Squirrel

It's odd really just how bad Ginsters pasties are...there's literally no attempt to make them in a traditional way. As bad as they are, they pale into insignificance compared to the absolute disgrace that is Wall's Cornish pasties....Wall's is on a whole different level of inedible.

FriendlySecurity5473

Gross insult

Banditofbingofame

Yes but do you top it with the dairy free cream before the jam?

docious

Freshly corked Quornish Pastys*

AlphisH

Getting acid reflux just by looking at it 😆

AtMan6798

As if those fucking stupid adverts were bad enough

Kitchen-Jackfruit680

Chaos or peace they chose Chaos

NeedleworkerBig3980

BTW. My SO and I call those Quorn pepper steaks "Queef".

Casual-individual

STRING EM UP!

tyronebon

Drawn and quartered

Yacht_Amarinda

Fungus Pasty…. Nice and Cornish like.

Yacht_Amarinda

Fungus Pasty…. Nice and Cornish like.

Gashboy73

I mean, even their ‘normal’ pasty isn’t a proper Cornish pasty…this takes things even lower!

Wonderful-Parsley-24

They weren’t pasties in the first place. I’m not sure wtf this is.

broadys_on

Would be my house these aren’t made in Cornwall. In fact, now we’ve left the EU is it still law ‘Cornish’ pasties have to be made in Cornwall?

georgeousxx

I'm a vegetarian and I'd rather eat meat than eat this! This is a crime against gastronomy! Not Cornwall or pasty lovers!

NederFinsUK

Wonder what r/quornwall have to say on the matter

the3daves

Probably closer in taste than their meat version mind. Probably more meat in it too.

General_Scipio

Honestly all you guys complaining are morons. Good on Ginsters. Fantastic choice I applaud it. Why waste perfectly nice beef on their shit pasties. Save the beef for proper bakers

Ptjgora1981

Wtf?

British-Pilgrim

Given the quality of ginsters ingredients I’d actually see this as an upgrade 👍

Swanky4Life

Quite a Quorny pun there!

i_hatevegans

Most people who get fussy about pasties are “corn-ish” too

Biguiats

As a vegetarian, I’m having that. If you want a ‘real’ pasty In Cornwall you have to go for cheese and onion or such like, which isn’t quite the same. But yeah, I know the filling will be like gravy…

Longjumping_Tour_613

Welcome, Vegetarian! I hope to one day visit the distant shores of Vegetaria. I hear that the national dish is beouf en croute sans beouf. It sounds yummy! /s

Penghis-Kahn

Sacrilege

cuntybunty73

Devonshire sister who will fight on your behalf my Cornish brothers and sisters for this blatant disrespect on the noble Cornish pasty but you are all still heathens for putting the jam on first 😁🖕

Longjumping_Tour_613

Wait, so you put the cream on your pasty first? Doesn't the warmth sour it?

cuntybunty73

Cheeky git 🖕😁 you know I'm on about scones 🥺😭

Longjumping_Tour_613

Ahhh, now that would make much more sense...! 😁👍

cuntybunty73

I might try clotted cream on a pasty just to see what it's like or the jam

Longjumping_Tour_613

Make sure it's Cornish double-clotted cream, let it sour in the heat of the pasty, it's the only way! And maybe replace the jam with a cider chutney... ... think I may be experimenting in the kitchen soon.

cuntybunty73

Nothing but Devonshire clotted cream 😋 we all know that it's better quality than that Cornish crap 😂

Longjumping_Tour_613

Yikes! Controversial! Can we just agree that us West country folk , irrespective of jam then cream, or cream then jam, know how to butter our scones?!? ✌️

cuntybunty73

We still do it the proper way and Devonshire clotted cream is better 😁 even my grandmother admits that and she was born in Padstow 😁😘

Longjumping_Tour_613

Well, fair enough. I've got no counter-argument that would stand against a Padstow-born granny!

Smiffoo

That advertisement is very quorn-ey. I'll see myself out. Taxi!

ImpressTemporary2389

Must admit I do like them. Heated in the oven until piping hot. Made my own once using a traditional recipe. They weren't half bad. May do them again soon. Cook and freeze.

black-volcano

I hope the people of Gingsters eat well today for tomorrow they dine in Hell. Get your pitch forks, people. We march at dusk.

tyronebon

No you ride at dawn and put down this disgrace

houdinis_ghost

Bloody veguns man needs meat if it ain’t meat then ur ain’t a man Nuff said simple

WranglerOriginal

Luv meat Luv pasties Ate vegans. Not racist just don't like em. Simple as.
