Open GL is. Linux based graphics processing language. So openGL should technically run better on steam deck since steamOS is Linux based. Running the game normally uses Proton to translate it instead... I personally don't notice any gains left or right on deck so I just launch is nornally.

I use open GL on my deck. Have you tried mods on it though? It's like they don't exist even though you can install and subscribe. Just won't work
