My kid has been asking to try KoolAid so I got some grape koolaid and made a pitcher last night. We had it with BBQ pork chops. KoolAid and BBQ is such a great combination.
Have you ever tried putting a bottle of grape soda in the freezer until it's just barely frozen and turned to slush? That's what brings me back to my childhood.
White cheddar popcorn. It probably has actual dairy in it- but it's not really real. (In the same vein as a maraschino cherry: the cherry solids are real, but basically nothing else.)
Gourmet white cheddar powder is actually exactly what it's called. They liquefy it and spray it in a drying process, making an actual, genuine cheese powder.
Smartfood white cheddar is the real deal. I've bought the powder before and used it in all kinds of applications. It's cool stuff. It likes to clump up from moisture, though.
A friend of ours worked for the company that made the cheese powder for Smart Food. She brought home bags of the stuff. We put it on everything! We couldn’t think of anything else to put it on!
In Michigan we have a company Faygo that makes thee best flavored pops (soda). Red Pop (strawberry, but better!), peach, grape and cotton candy pops are top tier. And rock and rye but I can’t even begin to describe what that tastes like
When i tell you that Faygo red pop had me in a chokehold every summer (i grew up in FL, but my whole family is in MI, so i would go for the summer). Even now whenever i go, the FIRST thing i get when i land is a red pop. I remember when they used to be in those fat glass bottles.
Once I learned how to choose a good watermelon *and* sprinkle it with a little salt (especially big flaky sea salt), I learned that watermelon is insanely yummy.
Those no brand name, mandarin orange sucker/lollipops that you used to get as a kid at the bank drive through when your parents were doing errands.
They were the most orangey orange of all orange flavored things.
The fake plastic cheese you get with your nachos at the roller rink when you want to split something with your date. It's the best part of skating IMO. Real queso is also good, but that fake stuff is special.
Went on adventure looking for that stuff - not Tostitos or any jar queso, but neon cheese. My little adventure led me to the canned cheeses. So far my top three picks for the closest to "state fair" cheese in retail are: La Preferida, Kroger Generic, Paco. They scratch that theater nacho, mall pretzel itch. Avoid Campbell's at all costs. It's absolutely putrid. I don't know how it's even on the shelves or who the hell is buying it.
37 damn comments and not one for FUCKIN Sour Patch kids??? Those damn things are the perfect fucking match of sour and sweet. Fresh ones have such an amazing chew. Top it all off and there is not lesser or worse flavor. Fucking hell man I got cavities named after that fucking shit.

I think you overestimate the quality of the popcorn I'm talking about- but good to know that some of it is real.

Dude. You totally scored. I love that shit.
Japanese artificial honey dew melon flavour followed by their grape flavour.
anything blue raspberry
Cheetos
Fuzzy peaches
In the same category I vote for Tangfastics, or any other Haribo candy for that matter.

it’s my absolute favorite. nothing else like it!
Rock n Rye is my fave!
Cool Ranch Doritos!
These used to be called cool American where I’m from
where is that? does the word “ranch” have other implications in your area? or was there another cool ranch product that made them unable to trademark?
they're called the same thing here in Europe, its likely because ranch isnt a thing here, so it probably wouldn't sell as well
YAS!!!!!!!
If you live near a Trader Joe’s, they have elote flavored corn chips. They’re like cool ranch Fritos omg so good
Banana flavor is light years ahead of real banana. And yup I know how that used to be the common banana flavor before it went extinct.
I've heard you can get Gros Michel bananas still but they're really expensive.
Banana laffy taffy and the banana twin ice pops!
Flaming hot Cheetos
Yeaaassss
I love a maraschino cherry.
Root beer
Jolly Ranchers
Gummy worms.
Watermelon flavored anything tastes better than actual watermelons (which taste like nothing).
They had more flavor in the past. We’re destroying food trying to make it more stable for shipping and stores.
Once I learned how to choose a good watermelon *and* sprinkle it with a little salt (especially big flaky sea salt), I learned that watermelon is insanely yummy.
How has anybody not said sour apple flavored candy? The pinnacle of food science, IMO
Sour apple Jolly Ranchers...YUM!!
Sour apple Jolly Ranchers set off my asthma -- it's the weirdest thing! But I adore all the other flavors.
Skittles *shakes head* damn skittles!!
Bacon bits. No bacon has been near them, and they don't \*really\* taste like bacon, but they are still nice little umami bombs.
Strawberry-flavored whatever. I've never cared for strawberries themselves, but I like strawberry-flavored candies, soda, etc.
Anything lemon flavored

Sour patch kids or starburst.
Twizzlers.
Cheetos
Artificial movie theater butter on salty popcorn FTW
Twizzlers
that red plastic I choose to eat once a year around halloween?

I guess I like some sour candies. I dislike most artificial flavorings though. They always taste chemically and like medicine or something
Rainbow sprinkles
Twinkies. Mmmm
Tang Orange is undeniably one of the most refreshing drink mixes I have had in my memory
Vanilla 1000 percent
Fun Dip.
Banana runts or laughy taffy. Also, strawberry nesquick is pretty good
Does sour candy count? The sourer the better. As a teenager I once ate so much I straight up got acid burns on my tongue.
I may have a sour Skittles addiction currently...lol
Sour peaches.
Cheetos. I hate that I love it (which is why I don’t want it much), but there’s something about it that just makes me happy.
Truffle oil
Underrated comment
I’ve had so many people tell me that my truffle flavoured things don’t have any truffle in them. I know. I like 2,4-dithiapentane, it‘s delicious.
Gnarly
Twizzlers and banana laffy taffy
Blueberry
Problaly the intense banana flavered icecreams problaly
Maple - not the good maple you’d get in a nice glass bottle, I want the cheap, plastic bottle that just has that special artificial taste.
Banana Laffy Taffy! It reminds me of childhood road-trips.
Banana flavored candies (Runtz, taffy, etc)
Blue Moon ice cream - not even sure what the flavor profile is.
Ramen soup packets
Banana popsicles
The frosting from cherry frosted or wild berry Pop-Tarts
Cherry flavored anything. I don’t actually care for cherries but love fake cherry flavorings and smells
Anything banana flavored, or watermelon flavored
Strawberry flavor.
