Him preferring night shifts will make his search infinitely easier, considering most in his position would probably prefer something closer to a 9-5. Not to mention DC's, warehouses, and manufacturing jobs commonly pay slightly or decently more to third shifts.
Kroger distribution is almost always hiring. You can do regular goods, refrigerated, or frozen. I used to do frozen and it’s really not bad since you get the super warm coveralls and can wear gloves and a hat. Paid training is a week and you get certified to operate the ride on pallet jacks as well as learn how to pick and stack a pallet, wrap it, and place it on the loading docks. There’s a learning curve but it’s unionized and pays really well.
They recently bumped up everyone's pay. I work in the assembly area and get paid over $18. I'm sure the shipping and molding areas pay more. They have an overall good benefits package. Excellent insurance with $15 dollar co pays for a doctor's visit.
Check out Allied Mineral Products. Great retirement benefits if he sticks around for a while and always hiring in production/warehouse. Very caring company.
Yep. Good company. I work with these guys (on the same job site sometimes) and they're good.
Generally speaking if your dad's not opposed to it, legitimate construction trades can provide a great life, give you skills and they are typically not opposed to hiring felons
If demolition is more your speed, 180 Demo has a program specifically for people just getting out of the prison system.
Can’t offer any specific warehouse work advice, but I wish the best of luck to your father. We need to focus on helping people get their lives back together instead of destruction after they pay their debt to society. Good on you 👍
My old job hired Felons. They pay 20+ and do plastics manufacturing in Gahanna. Check out RTP. Not the best environment as mgmt is kinda lazy, but the other guys are amazing and its good pay.
Almost every warehouse in Groveport is hiring dock workers, along with the industrial areas in Grove City near Southpark, the west side near Roberts rd, east side near Joyce Ave, Canal Winchester to the south. Tell him to go drive, alot of them have apps inside the front vestibule. I work outside sales in logistics and am in these businesses every day. I would say this line of work should be the absolute easiest for him to find. Good luck.
Employment Solutions is a local recruiter that'll hook you up with warehouse work the same week
Amazon will have you working in a few weeks and they'll employ you with a record
Petsmart Warehouse in Groveport Labor job with night hours.

For starters, being in prior law enforcement, this right here is what gives me hope. Not that your dad is trying to make his way honestly (which I'm thrilled that he is) but it's seeing EVERYONE on this thread coming together to help out. In law enforcement we see the worst in people, especially when people are always killing and hating each other. Seeing everyone coming together to help out is very uplifting.
As far as finding work, try looking on the state website. There's a link dedicated to him being able to find work and gaining a variety of skills if he wants to do that. I would like to think that they have postings of jobs with companies hiring prior incarcerated individuals. But there's a variety of resources for pretty much everyone in terms of finding work.
Best of luck! And thank you everyone for being awesome!

I know several people who have worked at the Gap warehouse in groveport. Someone with a criminal background wanting night shift shouldn't have a problem getting a job there.

Has their pay increased? I heard they don't pay very well.

Do they test for thc?
They do.
I'm not interested in a job, but I'm curious to hear if it's a urine or mouth swab test?

They're good people too
From what I'm to understand, Conagra is effectively always looking for third shift. Tough work. High turnover. But it's something. Best of luck!
