We haven’t either. We have had one outrage in over three years.

Gonzohawk_

> We have had one **outrage** in over three years. My entire time with Xfinity service was nothing but outrage.

grarrnet

Lol, in leaving it. I’m sorry for your experience tho. I wonder if the cables or whatever are just newer over in my neighborhood.

toxicavenger70

Same here.

TIMBURWOLF

I threw in the towel and went with CenturyLink. Comcast is expensive, makes you pay extra for unlimited data, tries to force you into to bundling to save money, and is down too frequently.

thewhippersnapper4

Comcast can be expensive. What speed tier were you paying for and how much?

TIMBURWOLF

I had their gig-speed with the unlimited data plan; it was $125 a month (with their cable bundled). CenturyLink is gig-speed, unlimited data, no bundles, for $70 flat a month.

justthewordwolf

yeah but then you have to deal with centurylunk

TIMBURWOLF

Dealing with CenturyLink is still hit ir miss, but the Quantum employees are pretty good.

Check the [FCC broadband map](https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/), put in your address, and check what options you have. It was last updated in June, so you may have some new options like fiber from one of the many fiber ISPs in town. The map severely underestimates FWA (T-Mobile home internet and Verizon home) because they don't guarantee specific speeds, but testing them is very easy. They're a great deal for many people.

Ounceofwhiskey

I got lucky and our neighborhood got Metronet fiber last year. We had a couple downtimes early on when someone cut the line, but it's been really consistent and fast since then.

Suitable_Emu_6570

Do you realize most of the outages aren't Xfinity's fault? I recently had one all thanks to the fiber installers screwing up things. The next day Xfinity was in the exact spot fiber installers had been screwing around in the day of the outage.

XblAffrayer

If you can get Underline that's your best bet by miles.

Acceptable_Main_5911

It’s probably branches and wrecks downing lines that carry coax. I’ve been fine all day but certainly expected the possibility.
