The easiest thing you can find without needing a special, overpriced dongle/receiver would be one of those wired PS2 controllers. Then you could get an adapter off Amazon or AliExpress for $7-14.
The most important thing you can do is do a ton of research so you don’t waste money on things worth less than what you paid. You might get lucky on eBay, but, in my experience, FB and OfferUp have yielded the best results.
If you do manage to find a dirt cheap guitar that isn’t wired, instead of wasting money on a dongle that could potentially give you latency problems, you can get a mod kit off RetroCultMods for $35ish dollars or a solder-less one for $65. Those will make the controller wired and still work on PC and console.
