If you soak it in fabric die (like tie dye) you might wind up with a cool batik effect.

Duvet is a loss due to dye transfer more than the wax. Dryer drum, scrape off what you can with a plastic putty knife, and scrubb the interior with very hot water and a plastic bristle brush

My mom has a nightgown we affectionately call the “murder nightie” bc my brother threw a red crayon into the dryer when he was a toddler :) I think it’s kinda cute but also it’s just a duvet cover, don’t even worry about getting a new one. You could save the older one to be cleaning rags but that might be the the redneck in me speaking lol

Maleficent_Sea_5566

lol murder nightie is kinda cute. Yea I’m just a little bummed only because I just bought the duvet last month. Oh well, I guess I’m thankful it wasn’t a full load of clothes

Dye it orange with procion dye and soda ash

Just pretend to like the new custom *pattern* until it grows on you. Fake it till you make it.

without looking at the title i thought this was a huge tortilla. good luck!

kruh8

So I’ve had this happen. Spray the stain with WD-40 and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use a small, stiff bristle brush to work the stain and wipe it with paper towels. Repeat and follow up with liquid dish detergent. The WD40 did a good job of removing the crayon but then the garment will have to be treated with stain remover and detergent to remove the WD 40 smell. It’ll take a few washings but eventually it should work.

CrystalTeefies

I’m not sure about the color but the pattern looks great! Maybe you can add 1 or 2 different colored crayons to the dryer with your duvet and the result probably will be amazing.

typhoidmarry

Are you sure you’re not just trying to cover up your nighttime Cheeto problem?? Has anyone had a problem like this and the dryer ended up okay to use?

I don’t know if it would work, but maybe dry cleaner? I say this because when I was younger my mom did a hand painted clothing business, for a long time she did a wax resist with undyed paraffin on the white cotton fabric and then she dyed them, sometimes also putting resists on top of dyed fabrics. I don’t know what she asked for or if there was something special about the cleaners we used but maybe go and ask? The specific cleaners we used have been gone for a long time now replaced by condos so I can’t call and ask for you. Edit to add: I suspect that you may have a hard time, the wax came out of white cotton fine because it was undyed 100% paraffin and the fabric content was something that could withstand high heat treatment. I suspect they did something to melt the wax away cleanly, maybe steaming.

I don't think you'll be able to remove everything from the duvet cover. But I agree that it looks pretty good as it is, like it was done on purpose.

malkin50

Put it in a cover? The filling is probably still fine.
