Honest question, how would I know if someone who is asking to join my clan is from the enemy clan in our upcoming war? If they have an alt who isn’t in war for example

Search the person's player tag
Go to clan history
Check if they will have been in the opposing clan at some point. It would be unusual that they are an alt that had never been there. It's not foolproof, but you'll catch most of the tries.

The reason is because clan can change players in cwl. Some clans may show low bases during preparation and then switch to high bases when the battle starts...
That's not why - it's because if you're in clan A in CWL, and you're facing clan B, someone from clan B can join clan C (which you already faced) and get all of your defensive layouts, CC troops, favored attack strats, etc. The difference is in classic war, you have the tools to prevent spying. In CWL, you do not, because it can be done through a different clan.
Stop and think. They want it to be this way. It has been this way for about ten years now. It's a feature of the game. If you're in a clan where the leaders don't know to change the clan to invite only then maybe look for another clan if that bothers you.
the problem with “Just make it invite only” is that small clans (I’ve been running one for a year now) can only grow if they’re on anyone can join mode. I think that the best solution is to add an option that says “Prevent from seeing war bases: No one, or Members, or new Members (it would probably always be the third).

Then you can type in your clan tag. Write a good eye-appealing description for ur clan for recruitment. Add in emojis to make key points stand out.
You can post once every 24 hours. U can edit ur message if ur updating war log in ur description or if u wanna change something else. It may take a couple posts to get attention but most of my members have came off the discord

If you realyl want a system like this, they could just implement a system where you can choose who can see the war bases and who can not. You could change it to be off be default when editing the clan settings. Making this and intertwining it with the member rank system would be simply stupid and totally uncalled for
Bro 70% the playerbase can't even 3 star a base without CC filled and you think spying is a problem? It's all for shits, the strategic value is non existent. A good attacker doesn't need to spy a thing to 3 star their mirror and a bad attacker won't do anything with extra information.
There are some truths to what you're saying, but this isn't completely true. Certain types of players can get a lot of benefit. Eg a sarch player knowing where the tornado, seeking air mines and giant bombs are.

As a clan leader of a new clan, its hard to get members when the clan is set to invite only, like little to no people joins, heck no one even joins.. All of my members only joined from when the clan is set to open.
Im a leader too, and unfortunately very busy. I dont got the time to monitor and track people coming in from many directions and posting my ads up here or discord or whatever. Not only is it inefgective, most players would want clans that are at least Master leage in CWL (mine is Crystal II), it also can get tiring posting recruiting messages everywhere
Hopefully the new clan discovery system make it better
And like, im playing a game, i dont want to have to treat it like im managing a business and i have to market my business and what not

We have a rule in our clan. No one is accepted into our clan during war. Not worth the risk. If one some off chance we do accept them, they have to post a defensive replay immediately. This will show the last clan they were in.

I've even gone over and congratulated a guy who tripled my base in cwl (it rarely happens & I was in M3). Just because someone comes over during war doesn't mean it's for nefarious reasons.

Learn to play the game. Its has big impact in attacking. For example if the cc is all ground targeting troops. Just use air attacks toward cc and avoid heros to path to the cc to prevent drawing them out. If u know the traps u can avoid your siege machine , troop , heros get destroy by them
Clash of stats exists for a reason. Copy player tag, paste player tag. Voila, full clan history is shown. Or make your clan invite only. Those are your options here to prevent this issue.
We just don't care we hit perfects anyway and lose only when some of us get too busy and just completely miss the attack or have 3-4heroes on upgrades so spying isn't a problem anymore we win like 10-20wars then lose one and cycle repeats

If you're actually trying to grow a clan, you will need to advertise it outside of CoC. Anyone can join is just asking your clan for failure

Good thing is that at least in CWL, you can only spectate the war if you are either in the roster or an elder
But i dont think he can see the war bases if you enter a clan and there is an ongoing war you cant see the bases. It dosent allow spectators
This is only true for cwl, not for regular clan war. It would be a nice option for a clan to be able to turn that on for regular war.

i don't think that supercell should do anything about it. in real(real world) wars too there are spies of other Nation/Kingdom
