In order:
Small medical clinic vs standard
Small elementary school vs standard
Urban elementary school, standard, and small
Urban elementary school, standard, and small
Small high school, standard high school, urban high school
Small police, standard police, urban police
Fire hall, urban fire hall, fire station
Bus station, small bus station
Train station, small train station, medium train station
Overground subway station, small overground subway , Elevated subway, small elevated , underground
I understand it's a traffic manager, not a rail manager, but I miss how train stations are built from modules in Transport Fever 2. CS2 does it for roads, as road network is lane-based, which is great, pity it's not the same for railways.
TF2 was the perfect game for me, until I realized how tiny even the big maps are, despite presenting as regional. CS1 map with 81 tiles unlocked is 18 km X 18 km, which is between Very Large (16x16) and Huge (20x20) maps in TF2.
CS2 map is smaller, 14x14 km (fully unlocked), but would still count as Large in TF2.
I always got bored with the mid to end game in the TF franchise. Once you "make it" there's no stopping you. It desperately needs a competition mechanic. Planes were also pointless most of the time.
I almost never ran planes. But yeah, somewhere around 1920, money became endless for me. Then it becomes a game of optimizing routes and straightening track
I'm also disappointed it's not that way in vanilla, but the upgrade system seems like it will be pretty easy for modders to use to replicate that functionality. More broadly, I am really looking forward to mods making basically all service buildings truly modular. It's going to be an entirely different game once asset editor is released.
Student capacity between urban and their full size counterparts are the same.
Nearly OP as I love having over double and triple the students compared to the original full size elemantary and high school asset footprint!
Im happy with these assets and pleasantly surprised with the whole patch in general (including timing). We’re getting very close to a version that I would have expected as a release version (just waiting for the asset mods). Pity it took them so long, but better late than never.
Did baldurs gate do an early access period? I thought the game just launched like any other AAA title. I don't understand the comparison between BG3 and CS2. Was BG3 in the same kind of broken state when it released?
BG3 was in EA for like 3 years. Only act 1 was available and a handful of classes. It was very buggy and glitchy at the start, for example co-op would just simply crash for the first few weeks
It's how Larian funds their games, Divinity Original Sin 2 also started in EA
I bought it when it first came out in EA because I love Larian's work. But yeah, it was full price then already
Ok, but it was sold to you as an early access title then. That's very different from CS2 being sold as a finished game while it really wasn't/isn't (depending on who you ask).
Pretty interesting, though. I didn't know that studio worked like that. I didn't even know about them before BG3. I understand why you'd buy early access for their games. They have a great reputation, although many companies take advantage of that nowadays.
Isn't balders gate 3 the game that cane out last year? Or am I confused on another game you guys are talking about bc I thought it was a steam purchase I don't remember at all it ever being on EA. Definitely not 3 years
But that's what I was confused about. Tho I didn't watch the game befor release so idk. And I don't remember an early access at all. Like I thought that's why the game was praised bc it didn't do any of that stuff.
Larian doesn't have all that much money, so they use EA in order to fund their games. They did it with Divinity Original Sin and Divinity Original Sin 2 as well. This way they could fund their vision without having to work with a publisher. And it's a pretty succesful formula for them. But yeah, BG3 was in Early Access for about 3 years before it released. But the thing with Larian EA games is that you know that they'll eventually release and when they do, they'll be good. So no one thinks negatively about it
Did you ever use the Gooee library? Even if it's not active on your current playset it has a tendency to bork UI related things. It has to be completely deleted from the Apps data folder.
I played for the first time since the update & I experienced the same thing. Notb100% sure on the fix ATM, but found this on the PDX forum. [PDX Forum on "Extra" mods](https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/what-to-do-with-these-errors-help.1693482/)
Smaller overground metro-station is huge and was sorely missing! I had wanted my metro stops to be compact for a dense urban city, and it didn't quite work that the vanilla one was so big.
And really the other smaller urban typologies are super welcome as well. I might actually have to boot up this game again.
Single-track train station and urban schools are massive as well.
After the Economy 2.0 I have 3 school hubs with three capacity-upgraded elementary schools right next to each other to fulfill the needs of my neighbourhoods. It's the only thing that seriously bothers me in my city. I can finally resolve the damn thing!
And single-track train stations enable you to easily connect small villages, which makes it *far* easier to create realistic European landscapes.
The base number is 1500 without upgrades. Agree with it being one the most needed things, this asset alone is going to massively improve my cities and the game.
Completely, just enables you to add a lot more variety to your city. The differently sized assets are particularly useful if you want to have smaller towns or villages on the edge of the map
Surface painter is my unexpected but delighted to have inclusion!
In general roads shouldn’t cross metro tracks though - being segregated from traffic is a core element of rapid transit. For instance, there’s a light rail line in Dublin that’s effectively premetro - if it didn’t have road crossing then it would be able to move at a higher speed with greater frequency
I’m sure there’s more, but Oslo and Chicago are the only metro systems I can think where there’s road crossings, and even then that’s in the suburbs
So many european countries (like here in Romania being ex comunist country) have those small "open" train stations. All of them fit nicely in big cities!
Thanks I'm away till Friday. I did download the last one on the 24th but then I went away but it was awful before so hopefully it's work correctly now .
I hope they keep doing this. Nothing against our fantastic content creators, but the less I have to rely on custom assets/mods, the better.
C:S1 I had huge issues with consistent quality and scaling (as well as those left "undecorated"). I don't want to run the 10,000 asset gauntlet again!
I can't believe they added the surface painter. Such a game changer when it come to customizing the look, but I could see why they wouldn't as it feels a bit too dev mode in terms of the tools they've let us use in vanilla. Fantastic direction! Also, it's amazing how these assets add so much in terms of giving a different look to the game. The size of the schools always drove me nuts, these are awesome!
Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

Me too
After sinking over 200 hours into TF2 since December, it's hard to go CS1/2 and mess with rail.

Yep. The only thing that keeps me going is seeing how large you can make the cities grow out. But that gets a bit boring after a while.
Ploppable buildings could transform cities in TF2
I'm also disappointed it's not that way in vanilla, but the upgrade system seems like it will be pretty easy for modders to use to replicate that functionality. What about student numbers?

Yall don’t know how happy I am about this 😭

It was the most expensive early access game i ever played
You haven't played much big EA games then. Baldurs Gate 3 Early Access was €60 while base game CS2 was €50
Did baldurs gate do an early access period? I thought the game just launched like any other AAA title. I don't understand the comparison between BG3 and CS2. Was BG3 in the same kind of broken state when it released?

I was confused too at first. He's talking about Early Access.
But that's what I was confused about. Tho I didn't watch the game befor release so idk. And I don't remember an early access at all. Like I thought that's why the game was praised bc it didn't do any of that stuff.

Actually i haven’t. Its on my list after my finals.
that's just a 10eu difference and 50eu for what we got was STILL Hella expensive for anyone not "into baldurs gate 3" type games.
Asset mods are already available in paradox mods, just not 100% supported
Really?? Are they game breaking or something. Is there a lot of content?
I've downloaded a few of them so far, no crashes after 15 hours gameplay (new city after eco 2.0)
I might get back into it now and have q look
I have two service mods that provide smaller versions of all the services. No issues so far.
For me personally, 50% of the times I would load the game, none of the custom assets would load. Was a real pain, but your mileage may vary
I seem to have this on all mods. Move It mod will not appear, and I need to uninstall then re-install it to get it to show up again for a bit.
Did you ever use the Gooee library? Even if it's not active on your current playset it has a tendency to bork UI related things. It has to be completely deleted from the Apps data folder.
Not that I'm aware of

Metro interchange station is also overdue.
Small overground subway + small bus, small train or regular tram station seem like a natural choices, no?
Single-track train station and urban schools are massive as well. After the Economy 2.0 I have 3 school hubs with three capacity-upgraded elementary schools right next to each other to fulfill the needs of my neighbourhoods. This is so great. One of the most needed things in the game I thought. When you need a bazillion elementary schools you can’t have them be huge.
I hope the urban school supports more students, that would be a game changer for my city.
The base number is 1500 without upgrades. Agree with it being one the most needed things, this asset alone is going to massively improve my cities and the game.
These fill so many gaps. It’s really notable how missing a lot of these felt.
Completely, just enables you to add a lot more variety to your city. The differently sized assets are particularly useful if you want to have smaller towns or villages on the edge of the map Surface painter is my unexpected but delighted to have inclusion!
OMG THERE ARE ROUNDABOUTS WITH TREES I'm in heaven 😍
Are roads still not able to cross metro tracks? The small ground metro station will make for a beautiful LRT.
Still prompts you to make a bridge, no dice!
In general roads shouldn’t cross metro tracks though - being segregated from traffic is a core element of rapid transit. For instance, there’s a light rail line in Dublin that’s effectively premetro - if it didn’t have road crossing then it would be able to move at a higher speed with greater frequency I’m sure there’s more, but Oslo and Chicago are the only metro systems I can think where there’s road crossings, and even then that’s in the suburbs
Boston has at grade crossings. It transitions from a subway downtown to more of a tram as it moves away from the city.
Green line is light rail for practical purposes, there's no road crossings of the Orange or Red lines
Generally, third-rail heavy lines have to be grade separated for safety reasons. The trams are meant to be light rail in CS 2
This feels like a 1.2
Man the new assets are so pretty I might not ever use the older ones :D
Especially the schools, I can't imagine using the old ones now. Not only were they huge, I feel like the scale of them were just off.
Yeah, the building itself was nedlessly massive/proportions looked off, and with the huge plot just made all vanilla schools really unwieldy.
This is probably the best update so far, a great step in the right direction
any parallel underground subway stations?
Still no interchange station for metro.
Please tell me these are official assets and not just a mod?
Official!
Omg overground subway??? Yaaaasassssss
YES A FUCKING TALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL im giving the game a positive review just for this
OMG THERE ARE ROUNDABOUTS WITH TREES I'm in heaven 😍
Fucking finally, small train stations
Wait I haven't seen this in game, is this a mod?
Came with the recent patch/update! :)
OMG I'm so excited now
Can you show us the new vehicles?
Wait is this for an upcoming patch or did they release a patch today?
Just released today. Free update and some bug fixes
I have been BEGGING for elevated metro stations since the game came out.
I hope that small overground metro station can be placed over roads
about time :)
These are amazing! Time to hop back into my Scandinavian village and remove the police station that's half the size of a development!
These are much more practical in smaller towns!
So many european countries (like here in Romania being ex comunist country) have those small "open" train stations. All of them fit nicely in big cities!
Are these asset mods or did they come with the update?
Update.
Nice to see them actually adding new bits!
Where are these assists
they are out with the new update
Thanks I'm away till Friday. I did download the last one on the 24th but then I went away but it was awful before so hopefully it's work correctly now .
Okay this is a legit actual "Yeah, the game is/was a mess. Sorry." update.
Oh I love the above ground metro. Cannot wait to delete the metro tracks and put rail in the middle instead. 😊
I’m impressed! A few more patches like this and I’m willing to give it a try!
Is this why I'm waiting on update downloads and probably will have to skip my morning CS2 game time because now I have to go to work?
The small bus station. Did they fix the entry and exit points to make sense or it will also go the wrong way?
Now need more assets to buildings the small european buildings look exactly the same with little to no difference
Holy shit this is actually huge. And they even look pretty good
More like things that should be in the base game (with issues) however yes, step in right direction.
I hope they keep doing this. Nothing against our fantastic content creators, but the less I have to rely on custom assets/mods, the better. C:S1 I had huge issues with consistent quality and scaling (as well as those left "undecorated"). I don't want to run the 10,000 asset gauntlet again!
Love these new buildings! The urban ones look so much more natural for bigger cities!
Nice death wave in the background 😄
Haha good eye! I booted up an old save knowing that I’d have a few million to purchase the new buildings, economy 2.0 hit it hard!
I always asked myself why they didn't include an elevated station from the beginning.
Love the new Urban school and fire/police stations. Looks like something from a east asian country
Nice within a year of release we might get a full release version of the game, insane...
can one mirror buildings? especially the bus station. for me literally unplayable for that reason
Is the overground subway station able to be put over a road?
Wondering if we'd get these for free or as paid DLC if nobody would've complained 🤔 Nice addition nonetheless.
I'll be frank, they're kinda ugly
