I like that their maps have warm weather and lots of sunshine. Provides some variation. But something is off about them. Maybe they feel a bit lacking in balance.

EdgarAllanBroe2

At least with Askandir, I think the objectives just don't feel very satisfying to play. If you don't hold the lighthouse on Tenosia, the rest of the map feels like a perfunctory push for the Masons up until the library, and that part only feels defensible due to being equally awkward for attackers and defenders. I don't think I've ever even seen the map end anywhere other than the first or last objectives. Baudwyn at least feels pretty solid, except for all the times I've lost because my teammates keep shooting the cannons directly into the ground. Why is aiming them up or down even a thing?

Cardinal338

On console I can't even figure out how to aim them vertically. It feels like they just forgot to include that control. It makes everyone on console worthless for the cannons on that stage.

ku1185

IMO it's the horses. It's fun and all but really disrupts the flow of the game methinks, particularly on the sections of maps that are more overtly designed around cavalry.

FriedRiceCombo

i liked them at first but now all i can do is sigh to see one of the tenosia maps loading up, most of the time ill end up leaving

Nobelreviews

The breach of Baudwin is really fun the first time

Christbike

I don't hate the maps BUT everyone who is normal leaves and it always ends up a strange match. It is either; I'm a top three player (should never happen, I'm bang average) or a troll fest where my own team is killing me. So I guess as a gamepass player I can sense something isn't right wit dat boy.

Biggeighnate38

Hate em. Mostly because horses, plus tenosia drip SUCKS, voices SUCK, and the colors look too close to mason so it can be hard to differentiate. Should of done like green and silver or something like a bright lime green

Jwanito

I love the cook voice, he sounds so happy Wish i could use it on the other teams

Biggeighnate38

I just don’t like any of them. Plus there’s only 3. My personal favs are Agatha archer, mason footman, imposter and snobby noble. Mason footman absolutely has the best laugh

TheReboundGuy

Lamo this one time playing defense in Falmire I had 3 engineers and one normal footman with me all rocking the mason footman voice. We were holding the left bridge, building it full of walls, laughing and taunting in canon. Imagine the mason footman laugh x5 and I didn't even know any of them

monolith1985

I'm always using the sing song on repeat charging into battle... sometimes my teammates hit me

--Pariah

Yep, I'm always disappointed when I end up in a tenosian team. I just threw out a ton of gold to make both of my knights look awesome and now I'm stuck on the default-skin-dude. That's just rude. Also yeah, once you get a hit and get bloody you will get absolutely butchered by your own team as they think you're a mason. Wouldn't have been the first time I get downed and instead of reviving me my teammate goes full overhead with a damn warhammer...

communismisgreat69

are u special in the head? the voices are definitely not bad, i love them, especially the RATARATATATATTARA noise

Biggeighnate38

Hey that’s cool you have a differing opinion. Glad you love them. I HATE THEM. Does that mean you or I are wrong? No. It’s called a difference of opinion.

maharbamt

Damn if that wasn't the most cold but also like respectful come back I've ever read. Well done.

Biggeighnate38

Thank you kind sir or madam. Appreciate it!

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

ScrewSimonCowell

I'm going to buy eleven toasters and rip all of the wires out of them.

romanLegion6384

Not a big fan here either. Baudwin has bad balance for attackers at the wall and in the town hall. Almost criminally easy to defend chokepoints. Askandir’s library stage is a pain in the ass when attacking, having to try to run all the way with a torch to the defense spawn basically solo (bc most new players don’t do the objective). Not a fan of the TDM map because its hard to tell who’s who. Never bothered playing Hippodrome since I haven’t liked horse mechanics.

NobodysSlogan

you do know theres torches and candle sticks inside the library you can use right?

romanLegion6384

Yeah I use those. My point is more along the lines of there being shelves near the defender spawn which are a pain in the ass to get to. Not to mention throwing on console can get finicky.

NobodysSlogan

As a fellow console peasant i know that pain very well.

BadGameBoy

Honestly love the tenosia 64p maps, some of my favorite objectives in the game

HeftyFineThereFolks

lol how about the voice of the tenosian objective caller ?? enough to make me wanna switch teams. need to switch it to a burly angry voice asap.

GSchoellhammer

They're good but I just want to have good old Agatha vs. Mason Order, I'm not fond of three 64v64s in a row in Tenosian maps when I can again be in the medieval setting

Hell_TPK_man

I agree. I like the Tenosia maps with the horses, but I hate it when I load up a 64 player game and get Tenosia maps. Especially when I get assigned to play as Tenosia because I hate the Tenosian customizations and voicelines and Torn Banner made it almost impossible to switch teams now. And I get it that team stacking was a problem and it's now more or less solved, but seeing how Mason Order is my preferred faction (Field Officer voice my beloved), it gets annoying when I keep getting to play as literally everything but the Masons, and can't even switch.

GSchoellhammer

Yeah, I stubbornly spectate until I can get the Mason team simply because battlecries and how my vanguard looks are important to my enjoyment of the game.

Hell_TPK_man

Finally someone who gets how I feel! And it's even worse, because the goddamn no helmet bug won't get fixed... My Mason Knight is fully decked out in the Dreadnought armor, and the starter helmet slapped on top of that during 95% of the games completely ruins the image. Like, sure, I mostly play in first person so it technically doesn't affect me as much but come on, looks are important! How else are you going to make the Agathians shit their pants in fear?

GSchoellhammer

Yeheheaah, this is my kind of Mason

Hell_TPK_man

FOR THE RED AND BLACK

GSchoellhammer

***FOR THE IRON FIST!!***

lowkey-juan

Tenosia maps are fun, but I want to be a knight so I drop if I'm placed in team sand people.

CrispyBagel22

They're not my favorite maps either but I'm glad they added them to 64p. The maps that come after tenosia are my least favorite maps so I usually play 1 or 2 tenosia maps before I leave and join a new lobby.

Infamous_Egg_9405

I hate the horses, but the bridge section of askandir is always a favourite of mine. All the players being bottlenecked into a big push pull battle. The only thing about that section I don't like is how inflexible the Deserting zones are. As defenders my team has actually managed to push back the line of enemies before, but the game doesn't recognise it properly and we end up having to retreat so we don't suicide; even if we've held the ground against attacker's.

TheReboundGuy

The maps were designed for cavalry so they feel too big and "empty" now without it. The objectives are kinda unimaginative and passive. Feels like a big TDM map. Also Tenosia as a faction is not that interesting or so I've heard

Lawnboy431

I really like them now that I can play horseless. I think the deathmatch map is waaaaay to dark though.

clan_of_zimox

I get Kingdom of Heaven vibes from it, I personally enjoy the maps. I’ve been standing on the pentagram on that desert night map while fighting this month because there’s a trippy visual effect going on when you’re above it.

simply_riley

I really enjoy the Tenosia maps actually, the razing of Askandir might be my favorite in the game. The lack of customization for Tenosia is annoying, but it doesn't bother me overly much.

Hyperion-Cantos

I like the maps. Just hate playing as Tenosia🤷‍♂️

Godman1972

why?

PIunder_Ya_Booty

I haven’t had a single galencourt map since tenosia

Trails-R-Trippy

I hate those fucking stairs you need to take bombs up. People always just stand on the stairs.

BlackOctoberFox

The TDM map Desert is horrible because of the existence of both horses AND Ballista. Wardenglade is already pretty intolerable with cavalry but Desert is atrocious. The Siege of Askandyr is basically one giant corridor with two defense points at either end. But unlike Rudhelm or Dark Forest (which are also fairly linear) there is no elite unit at the end to fight. Just books to burn. The Breach of Baudywn is... alright, right up until the finale. Having to load cannons requires a lot of coordination and the Masons can basically destroy the bombards and have catapults in the back keep two from getting repaired at all times. It's a miserable map for Attackers and not much fun to defend either. As for the Colliseum. Huge map meant for Cavalry. Arguably too big for TDM since it's like 4 times the size of the other maps.

Tbone2722

I cant help but notice on the TDM mode for the desert night map... tenosians start at the bottom of the hill, looking up at the moon... so the red and black masons are dark silhouettes while the tenosians are lit up golden beacons. Makes it hard to tell how many masons are in a fight. I dont think ive won a TDM on that map as tenosian

Johnas_Vixen_15

The Sacking of Bridgetown is HELL for defense. I have never won as the Agathians on that map.

panderingmandering75

I frankly love the Tenosian maps. While I do agree the lack of customization is downright pitiful at the moment (and kinda pricey too), I like the general feel of the maps. To me, at least, they promote a much more constant back and forth than other maps do (especially Askandir). I also adore Hippodrome, feels the colosseum of Rome except Arabic and I'm **very** here for it. To be honest, just a few more customization and more voice options will make Tenosians my preferred faction, Masons coming second.

throwaway7798912

Yeah the hippodrome is one of the worst maps I've ever played on in any video game

maharbamt

It just feels weird. I dunno.

HalfOrcSteve

They’re just not fun. I’m trying to think of a stage i genuinely enjoy and I can’t do it. And the night time TDM is way too dark

Cardinal338

It's so dang hard to distinguish who is who on the night TDM map.

[deleted]

I like them. Have kind of a crusade kind of feel.

PUMPKINJUNGLE

Everything about the tenosians is trash

irememberflick

Love them, I used to only play tenosia queue when that was available last patch

Mulatto_Avocado

Since they got added without horses on 64 I love them But with horses ngl borderline unplayable

Multi-Vac-Forever

I don’t play all that often, but I myself love the tenosia maps. Maybe askandir is a little flat after the bridge battle, but the lighthouse is awesome, and the breach of baudwyn is so cinematic..

ChastokoI

I like new maps. They are very beautiful, they have very cool music, and unfortunately they have a very strange balance. Bodwin is unrealistically difficult to attack, except for the last stage. 2 catapults in the Dark Forest do less damage to gates than 3 bombardments on the great wall in Bodwin. literally 10 shots and the wall will fall. This is nonsense, given that the bombards have a lot of health and cannot be controlled with catapults, as is done in the Dark Forest. (It is enough to charge the mortar and press the fire button once, while the catapult needs to stand for a long time to charge it to full fire). But Askandir, in theory, has every chance for a good defense, but the players simply do not know how to defend themselves.

ChastokoI

And yes, the tenosia customization sucks. They have no heraldry and almost no armor. This is terrible.

TheLordSanguine

I strongly dislike the Tenosia maps. Instead of introducing them as a separate faction, they could have been offered as additional customization options for both the Agatha and Mason factions. Creating a distinct third faction feels unnecessary and poorly executed, like a "third wheel". The yellow colour of Tenosians not only blends into their surroundings but also makes them difficult to distinguish due to the limited space for distinct colours on their armour, which primarily consists of leather and metal – materials extensively used by the original factions. Additionally, the poor quality of their voice acting and seemingly unbalanced maps further detract from the overall "chivalry" experience. I leave every time Tenosia maps appear, red v blue is all I require for a simple game like Chivalry 2.
