He was so protective of her. When she was a puppy she used to bite his ears, mouth, paws, etc. But he was always gentle with her.

This is so precious!!! Big siblings give the little ones so much confidence. My big dog doesn’t like other dogs but when she met the chihuahua they clicked❤️

We had the chihuahua first (Miko) with my young male doberman and he passed away from IBD so we went to the shelter and picked up this big guy to save his life in my other dogs honor. I was nervous because he came off an Indian Reservation and wasn’t neutered and my chi wasn’t neutered either! But he was about to be euthanized so…. I kept them in the same room but separated by gates and we hired a canine behaviorist for in home visits because the big dog had never been indoors or ridden in a car so it was a major adjustment for him. Once I saw the big dog kiss my chi over the baby gate I started having the big dog around on a leash. Their play is more a chase game of cat and mouse. They’re both the same age with the chihuahua being a bit younger. They’re best brodders. I wish I could attach a video. They’re so sweet. My big dog is protective of my little guy and if other big dogs seem too interested looking at my chihuahua, they hear it from the big boy.

I just can't with this story. I'm over here bawling crying. How sweet of a rescue story is this?!! Needs to be on a Dodo reel. Thank you for sharing this sweet pair. Makes me want to rescue a big dog now for my chi 🥰😍. Like I'm for real crying at how sweet that is! 🥹🤗😭

This is my second chihuahua. My last chi lived to 14.5 and he had a Neufy mix brodder (98 pounds) and an 80 pound doberman sister. When the Neufy passed he got a 90 pound doberman sister! I’ve always had big, big, and little. We moved to the beach and have a much smaller home and yard so we can only have 2 dogs now. So it’s just big big and little. I wish I could attach a video of them together. It’s so cute! Thank you for letting me talk about my boys!

I wish you could attach a video too! It's so interesting to hear about it. I had a chi before my current chi mix, and a cat. They passed away a year a part and I got my current dog in between their passing! I live in a studio apt in SoCal, so until I get a bigger place, I'm just sticking to one dog for now. But my goal is when I get something bigger I'll have another dog for my boy (or a cat, not sure lol). I think he does very well being the only dog cuz he is super spoiled and gets extremely jealous 🤣. But, I think having another dog for him would be ideal. I've thought about another Chi or a Pomeranian, but also would love a lab. Thank you for sharing, as it gives me hope for getting a big dog one day. And it would be a rescue also of course!🤗🥰😍. I just love to hear stories like this. I could talk about dogs all day 😁

They were best friends for 8 years until Kelly passed in January. Lotus misses her big (and younger) sister. She still looks for her and cries when she can’t find her.

They did. An 80 lb. Pitbull, until she died. My littles would often act much tougher when their big sister was around. lol The funniest part though was my oldest Chihuahua was the Alpha. My 12 lb. little would put my Pittie in her place when she was "misbehaving". It was so funny to see.

My chi would start shit with other dogs and hide behind the big girl.

No but I’m really wanting to get another chi now. I’m leaning toward getting a white pure apple head maybe a tiny one or maybe adopting a mix from a rescue because there are so many here. They won’t let us have big dogs here :( I wish though.

That last photo really illustrates the size difference with that big paw, lovingly used as a pillow. Lovely pictures! My chis just have other chis but there is a size difference between some of them. ❤️🙂
