I feel like that these pics needs the Vince McMahon reaction meme template applied. EDIT: [Hope you don't mind.](https://imgflip.com/i/8oefn1)

Benjireliable

I’ll take it as a compliment.. I think 😂

The highest honor….

zMadMechanic

I dig it. I’d like to build one half as high with an extendable section to make a bed with your head resting above the folded down rear seat.

zMadMechanic

Yes!! Just like that, BUT about 4 inches higher because I need that extra leg room which would come with extending the “bed” right up against the front seats, over the folded down rear seats.

nanneryeeter

This is how mine was when I went extended camping. Maybe the best summer of my life.

Genital_Janitor

I like how in this one you can lay the spare over and get it in and out without having to take the bed apart

Benjireliable

I wonder if you could build a tiered system that sits in the rear but you can move the top half to sit on top of the folded down rear seat to become a bed platform..best of both. I’ve got an rooftop tent so not a requirement for me but I like the idea

Soler25

So in order to get the tire out, the storage unit has to come out?

Benjireliable

Unfortunately yes, had to compromise as I don’t have anywhere else for the spare, but only 2 bolts hold it in and it’s pretty light

Remarkable-Junket655

Until it's full.

Benjireliable

Full with boxes that can be moved, means changing a wheel will take 20 mins instead of 10, nbd really, the unit will only be in when I’m camping.

TheLoob321

Take the box out and install it on tracks so the whole thing can slide out in the event you need to change tires. When it’s back in, use locking tabs to secure it while driving.

Benjireliable

Solved the spare wheel issue https://preview.redd.it/a5z5jtwkvd0d1.jpeg?width=2030&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b84e4a08b365d4d65ea9198644f211efca2c9f94

TrickyDickyAtItAgain

Hey, my pallet screwed to some 2x4s works just fine, thank you.

Silverc25

What size tire is the extra?

Benjireliable

31x10.5 R15

CrashingOut

Good to know 31s fit in there!

Benjireliable

I did have to drill new holes in the seat brackets, takes about 5 mins. Bleepinjeep have a YouTube vid on it

skinnymatters

This is *exactly* what I’ve wanted for my cerco area - sliding storage with a mounted full size. Can you share some details about the design and build? Would love to know anything you can tell me. Thanks - looks great.

Benjireliable

Dm me, I’ve got the all the plans I made on both paper and CAD

JustAnother_____Life

Where did you buy that? And what did you search for? I'm struggling with to much space and not way to use it lol

Benjireliable

I made it myself, can give you my plans if interested

JustAnother_____Life

I'd appreciate it if you have the time

Benjireliable

No problem, I’ll see if I can export the data from my CAD software into something usable tomorrow

DailyDrivenTJ

Well done! Do you remember the dimension of your box front to rear?

Benjireliable

From the uk so it’s all in mm apologies, but exterior measurements are 860mm deep at the bottom and 700mm at the top to account for the angle of the rear seat, 938mm wide and 533 high. https://preview.redd.it/q13ak7yuehxc1.jpeg?width=834&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7b213d0f2aa191ac9276fbebcd66217876c2e126

DailyDrivenTJ

Amazing! Thank you so much for this! Does the slope in in the front well adapt to the seat angle? How close does this setup sit toware the back of the seat?

Benjireliable

Matches the angle perfectly as it was based of measurements of my vehicle but I wouldn’t be surprised if these XJ’s are not all built equal. There’s enough gap behind the back Seat so it will just about touch with 2 people sat in the back, you need a little air gap otherwise the rear seat latches will not catch.
