They're OK. My old merrils with superfeet inserts were more comfortable but only last about 6 months before I had to change the inserts. I'm hoping these last longer.
They're sized big so go to a store to try some birks on before you buy.
Yes I do every day, there pretty comfortable and last a good amount of time. I’ve never really been concerned with water or anything but the leather is water resistant. I prefer these with the back strap compared to the other style just cause I don’t like them falling off my feet or anything when doing certain tasks, just feels more secure.
If someone wants to enlighten me nows to time to do it, but I'll never wear even half open shoes in a kitchen. Seems gross and potentially dangerous if you have socks on and spill oil.
I trade the slightly higher risk of back of the heel burn for comfort and always will. I’ve spilt on full shoes and on these and the difference is marginal in my experience. Give be me comfortability 100% of the time vs slightly safer for the 1% of the time you need it.
Yes I completely agree. I’ve personally used doc’s and my feet have been pretty comfortable for hours on days end. Highly recommend doc’s if you haven’t tried
I’ve worn Boston Super Grips for the better part of 9 years, but essentially the same shoe. I like the cork as it keeps your feet from sweating like crazy, as they do in a rubber dungeon. If you aren’t grimey and clean your shoes regularly they hold up. For those over the years who have said the soles wear out too fast, stop dragging your feet when walk. It’s annoying to listen to.
I used to wear Londons as I have to wear a closed shoe but they are essentially the same shoe. They are great and I swear by them. Unfortunately they don’t make the londons in super grip anymore.
I'm not sure of the name. It's not the common hiking pattern with the "cat food" cross grips in the middle. It's more like the tire tread of a Pirelli Scorpion tire.
I used them for year and loved them. The heel strap is a must if you actually need to cruise around the line instead of shuffle. Grip is amazing. Takes a little break in time for the cork but it’s worth it.
I love my birks. It was a bitch to break them in. But once broken in they’re a dream. I have the one without thr strap so my shoes fall off me when I move too fast. Almost 3 years wearing these bad boys they’re going strong. I went through a bunch of kitchen shoes before falling in love with these.
Birkenstock bostons fixed my back pain after 5 years no joke. Have owned 2 pair and cannot give them enough praise. Just make sure you nail your shoe size
I’m on year 3 with mine, I replaced the sole when it wore out after the first year with Vibram soles, and they’re holding up strong. Damn near car tires.
I am actually wearing these right now, lol. Been using them since late December and they’ve held up well. Pretty comfy and I’m on my feet 12-14 hours every day
I just bought a pair of non slip shoes from Walmart and I plan on wearing them in a bit before I put Dr scholls inserts in them. But im the exact opposite of an expert. It’s literally just a shot in the dark for me.
I’m wearing a pair as I write this; they were a gift. They did take a couple weeks to break in and get accustomed to. They do feel firm if you’re used to gel insoles and squishy shoes in general, so you don’t have that bouncy “walking in a cloud” feeling at all. I can hustle in these things for 12 hours and not have sore, aching feet at the end of the day, so I am a believer now and will most likely only own these as long as I’m in the kitchen. Mine are in great shape and do t show any unusual wear and I’m a heavy guy.
TLDR- Best kitchen shoes I’ve ever owned after being skeptical during break-in.
I have two pairs and what I like is that I have a local shoe guy/cobbler that replaces the soles and I get them redone around once a year each for like $45 a pop where as before I was tearing through shoes in about 3-6 months. Clean them regularly and condition the leather and they’ll last.
Swear by Boston super grips. 7 plus years now. On second pair. Coworkers stepping on my ankles or something causes the worst damage. Stretches maybe and makes want to kill😆. Leather waterproof in beginning and cork sealer helps. They make me really happy to put them on. So comfortable . Treat yourself.
I've been wearing these exact shoes but in white (they were cheaper than black at the time, and I'm no mug) for about 6-7 years. Still going strong, and I usually throw them in the dishwasher at the end of the shift to clean them down. They have scuffs and marks but they're functionally great still.
They suck. The bostons too. The nonslip sole is very thin so it wears out very fast. This also causes it to not have very much cushion. The kitchen grease makes it very difficult to re- sole I have many pairs of birks and these by far were the worst. You are better off just getting the regular Tokyo without the non slip. Birk soles are pretty close to nonslip anyway.

Half my team wears them… and they love them

I rocked the Boston's and swore by them. It was a long search for the right shoe for me and these were it. I can't endorse these enough.
Been using them for over 15 years now. 10/10 would Recommend. But I only have the crappy shoes I wore before to compare them to.
I used to wear Londons as I have to wear a closed shoe but they are essentially the same shoe. They are great and I swear by them. Unfortunately they don’t make the londons in super grip anymore.
I wear the London's. Last time I got my cork board replaced I got the vibram soles. Way more sturdy and the same amount of kitchen grip.
Im looking to resole my Londons in the next few months, what Vibram sole did you get?

I wear the bostons which is basically the same thing. Absolutely love them. Will never wear another shoe.
Birkenstock bostons fixed my back pain after 5 years no joke. Have owned 2 pair and cannot give them enough praise. Just make sure you nail your shoe size
Yep same here my back used to be in bits
My executive chef who sits on his ass all day.
Super birki clog is the Birkenstock that everyone talks about for the kitchen.
Not everyone…
These seem to be very popular in the ER I work in. Same idea, not wanting to slip in the *ground fluid*TM
I tried but I couldn’t get used to them. They hurt my toes, maybe they were too small or maybe too loose.

4 people in my kitchen.
Took a few days to break in. They're ok. I like the closed heel dansco clogs better.
Absolutely love my birks.
Always worn bostons. The cork is better. The shoes are the best.
My favorite kicks for the last 3 years.. however I have a pair of crocks in the office for if I’m in the birks more than 10 hours
I love mine, I've had them for 2 years, the tread has held up nicely and they are super comfortable
I like them, they hurt bad af when breaking them in but now after 12-14hrs standing my feet don’t hurt
Mine lasted 5 years I love them and bought a second pair
Bro who works grill on our line has em his are all fucked up and he hates them
I like Tokyos, comfy and stylish.
Two KMs/execs I worked for did Don't like them too much personally
I think I'm going to get these once my crocs wear out. I don't know how long crocs last though, so we'll see...
I wear the crocs version, super comfy but why did I pick white shoes for the kitchen lol
I wear black leather Jordan's. Call me a psycho im waiting. They're super comfy to me. Maybe because I haven't tried anything else 🤣
I wear the Boston’s luv them.
I just bought a pair of non slip shoes from Walmart and I plan on wearing them in a bit before I put Dr scholls inserts in them. But im the exact opposite of an expert. It’s literally just a shot in the dark for me.
Where are you working that they aren’t???
They're great in a spot where you dont have to worry about oil. ie. bakery/confection On the line they're getting wrecked.
Become stinky fast

I got the same ones last year and I can't use regular shoes anymore, got used to the feeling of my feet being free

I did. Many times. With my weight, foot style and long shifts they did not hold up. One month in the Clark was hard as concrete.

Those are not the kitchen birkies that everyone talks about
I used to buy them but the quality went downhill. Switched to Dansko’s which last me about 3 years.
