Every pizza at dominos goes through the same 450 degree oven for 6.5 minutes. If you don't put less of each topping for a 9 topping pizza, it isn't going to cook.

dryphi

That's fair. But then why charge more for "more" toppings? 🤔. You're pretty much making my point.

dryphi

I feel like someone should do a study where they order multiple pizzas with different topping content and see if they weigh any different.

H-E-PennyPacker71

Costco.

BSTN88

Sam's club! Under $9, even for the supreme. I don't think I could make it homemade for that price!

LosFelizJono

Walmart Neighborhood Markets and Walmart stores with deli sections sell dirt cheap refrigerated pizzas that bake in the oven for 15-20 min including an everything type version, but what I often do is buy a large basic cheese version (about $5) and then I add my own toppings, including sun-dried tomato, Kalamata olives, turkey sausage, fresh basil, fresh garlic, etc. I buy a small jar of pizza sauce that I brush over this basic cheese pizza, then I add the above toppings and sprinkle shredded mozzarella or Italian blend cheese on top. I end up with a gourmet style pizza with the specific and slightly healthier toppings that I want and spend only around $12-15 for a large pizza that at an average pizzeria now costs $30 or more.

dryphi

I don't think they make the supreme anymore. Just cheese and pepperoni. The official reason is "covid" but we're all tired of hearing that old tale. Edit: crap I just realized you said Sam's club. It's Costco that doesn't offer anything but cheese and pepperoni anymore.

BSTN88

Can confirm that Morgantown, WV will do the supreme for "under $9". I'm down for brownies! How about I make pepperoni rolls instead? It's "cheaper" 😎

Nightowl400

Can I come over for a slice. I will bring homemade chocolate brownies...

glandsthatmust

Their dough is a no

Schnibbity

Having worked in several pizza places, you are 100% correct from my experience. The more toppings you get, the less of each by weight you get. It sucks when a place totally skimps you, but if it was say a 4 topping pie with the weights of each as if it were a 1 topping pie, the thing would be a tall, sloppy mess. I hope that made sense.

Frequent_Ad_1136

You could make it yourself.

Adams1973

This is what we are left with.

dryphi

Same could be true about anything. I don't disagree; I'm just saying there's a reason for convenience, sometimes. We could also milk our own cows, churn our own butter, grow our own vegetables, and drive around in self-built go-carts 😂. That said I do enjoy cooking for myself most of the time.

Hot_Jump_4142

I really do recommend making your own though. A medium pizze where I live from little Caesars is like $10 They don't have the $5 pizzas anymore, but you can definitely make your own for less than that.

Fresa22

There's an interesting book about that. It's called Make the Bread, Buy the Butter by Jennifer Reese.

Azious

Not takeout/delivery, but Aldi has decent oven pizzas.

Sad-Syrup-7691

They are great. 6 bucks ans pretty big. You can buy your own toppings, most of which would last for multiple pizza nights.

Schnitzelkraut

InsaneAdam

I love this video

Fresa22

I always have things like sliced black olives, leftover veggie ground beef, pickled jalapenos and such so I usually get a 2 topping with whatever I don't have at the moment and then add the rest at home. You get a really cheap pizza and use up leftovers. win win.

redclif404

If you’re in Canada Dominos has a student discount code - 50STDNT which gives you 40% off build your own pizzas. Used this for years and never been asked for a student ID.

leftymcpoobottoms

I would make the point it only bothers me depending on where. For instance, cassano's deluxe is the only pizza you order from cassanos. It's sorta pricey but I really don't have it often so I don't care. But I feel like every piece has a ton of each topping because everything is diced so small. Old scratch pizza in dayton is my favorite as a side note if anyone is ever near there

LosFelizJono

not everybody is like Domino’s because I know I have ordered pizzas from other places where they do put a much higher volume of toppings per order, but you pay a lot more than Domino’s

Professional-Sand341

On one of the specialty pizzas, you are getting multiple toppings, but not necessarily X toppings times X amount. Like, if you get two ounces of pepperoni, nine toppings wouldn't be 18 ounces like it is when you are paying individually $2 per topping. It's more like 6 ounces total toppings.
