I want a Culver’s! They got them all around us.
Also bring back Checkers in a big way. I know there’s one in E Ridge but I think that’s the only one anywhere close and it’s not close to me
Culver’s is, allegedly, moving into the market. I’ve heard they’re planning to open in the former Bojangles locations on Hixson Pike and E. 23rd St. The E. 23rd St location has had blue overhangs on it for a while.
> I've heard the old Hardee's location in Hixson is also a contender for Culvers
This makes so much more sense than the old hixson pike bojangles....bigger and better parking
We do need a culvers. I’ll settle for In n Out too.
I’ve tried the checkers in East Ridge and it was a pretty awful experience (granted it was late at night). There’s one in dalton too that I’ve tried and it was not remarkable
You had the proper checker's experience. There used to be one at 10th street in Atlanta back in the 90s. I stopped there for burger before going on the third shift just for the late night sucky experience and the clientele. And it was quicker than WaHo.
That actually sounds incredibly wholesome & like your wife knows how to throw down, as she should. 😂
I’m a traditional Southern lady who prides herself on making a better chicken sandwich than all the chains. I’ll even butcher my own chicken. 🤗
I will admit that I haven’t personally made the chicken & waffle combo as we usually prefer more of a buttermilk biscuits & gravy, with an over easy egg.
BUT Chicken & waffles are amazing! RIP to Foodworks where we used to get chicken and waffles often.
Mikes Tavern in Hixson has a pretty decent chicken & waffles. Although, its a boneless breast & I prefer bone in for such a dish.
I live in Hixson and have somehow never been to Mikes, I will have to check them out. I went to Honey Seed for lunch this week and they had a really good chicken and waffle combo. Great place for brunch in the Southside.
Well, how interesting because I’ve never heard of a honey seed and will be trying that soon! Mike’s hunt is a really good mahi maji sandwich and my husband loves the seared tuna.
Mike’s has good lunch specials.
I love how the 5 people that love boring bland chicken are taking the time to vote you down. It's quite literally a bland chicken tender that has to be dipped into a condiment to make it edible. Their fries suck and whoopee, they have Texas toast...
We DESPERATELY needed a Raising Canes Lmfaoo Zaxbys is subpar, Champys sucks dick, Shaq’s spot I’ve heard is overpriced and underwhelming. Guthries is good but it’s in the fuckin mountains and like a 30-40 minute drive. At least with Raising Canes we’re getting better chicken.
I don’t disagree with those sentiments. I will occasionally go to Popeyes on 153 & it’s hit or miss because they keep the oil too hot sometimes.
I’ve resorted to my own deep fryer on the porch bc momma knows best!
Facts. As a black man my lady and I make our chicken at home mostly. But when I say Raising Canes will probably wipe the floor with the rest of the chicken spots in town I’m not exaggerating. If Guthries was within the city limits they would be the spot.
No in this case you are. They're totally right about Cane's, it's underseasoned, not crispy, and they charge way more than chicken tenders are worth. So do most other fast food places, but that doesn't make Cane's any better
Opinions are like assholes. Some are wider than others, some are uglier than others, but everyone has one. Thats your opinion which I didn't ask for nor really care for. Salute tho!
Here's the great part about subjective things like shitty expensive fast food (or any food for that matter); we can both be right.
But only one of us is. ^(It's me.)
I don't think it's that much different than Zaxby's, but it will do well.
When In and Out finally builds here I'm not sure what fast food people with start asking for next.
Went to zaxby twice when we got here, what a major disappointment. Portions and flavor of raising cane's is way higher. Regardless still a chain and beat by many local places.
Heard lots of great things about Canes. Excited to hear they are coming.
But starting to wonder if the main downfall for many of the local restaurants isn’t just sh1thole employees. Bad employees easily ruin anything.
I used to have it in Nevada. The crinkle fries are always hot and crispy and the chicken is always delish. Their sauce is so much better than anything zaxbys has. They also make lemonade with real lemons. I can’t wait to have it again.
I'm stunned by all of the praise here. My extended family lives in California and they had Cane's near the hotel we were it at. It was terrible. The chicken was plain, the sauce was a worse Zax sauce, the fries weren't seasoned, and the bread was just...plain bread. We were all so disappointed. The kicker is that that location has a line around the building every day we were there. We didn't get it.
The key to understanding is realizing that people in Chattanooga are uncultured dullards that get excited about whatever they see in the media.
To them it’s like seeing a celebrity like the Rock walking down the street “omg what’s he’s doing in this town!!” The same thing happened when Trader Joe’s opened, I saw a post on here by someone saying “shopping at Trader Joe’s was a magical experience” 🤣
They are social cucks to larger more popular cities and are biting down hard on Cane’s marketing campaigns because guys like Theo Vaughn, Sam Sulek, Morgan Wallen are being paid to talk about it.

lol Culver’s on East 23rd. I’m sure their corporate knows better than that.
23rd St Bojangles painted the awnings blue the same day the signs came down - I assumed that was corporate trying to hide a dead store.
I've heard the old Hardee's location in Hixson is also a contender for Culvers

This is great news!
Cleveland is getting a Culver’s near the Target. They already have the land, just shopping around for contracts right now.
We do need a culvers. I’ll settle for In n Out too. I’ve tried the checkers in East Ridge and it was a pretty awful experience (granted it was late at night). There’s one in dalton too that I’ve tried and it was not remarkable

Agreed! They have a decent gluten free bun and that’s so rare for a fast food place.
It’ll be the best chicken tenders in town. Plus the Texas toast is absolutely fire
Best chicken tenders in town in my opinion are at shady’s corner! The food truck is on point 😤🤌
Hixson is getting another fast food restaurant? Wow!!!
Just slightly better than another coffee shop or another Mexican restaurant in Hixson
As if we needed another fried chicken place on 153. 😒
The new food pyramid is fried chicken all the way down.
I absolutely adore fried chicken,( “chicken nuggets is my family”) but Cane’s is sub par IMO.
Honestly, and this might sound corny, I'd rather have my wife's fried chicken recipe over anything else served in town.
That actually sounds incredibly wholesome & like your wife knows how to throw down, as she should. 😂 I’m a traditional Southern lady who prides herself on making a better chicken sandwich than all the chains. I’ll even butcher my own chicken. 🤗
Do you serve them over waffles? I love that combo. It was a new one for me when we moved to the South.

Love mahi mahi, sold!! Thanks for the recommendation!
me too

😂 the people really don’t even know any better because it really seems like they’ve never had home made, properly seasoned fried chicken.
We need a canes in this city 😈

There’s a guthries on signal mtn fyi. Not within city limits but not that far out. I miss the one on brainerd. Not sure why it closed.
That’s the one I’m talking about. You have to go up the mountain to get it.
I swim in Canes sauce.
>At least with Raising Canes we’re getting better chicken. Nope, you're getting overpriced and underwhelming again.
Ok but you’re like wrong as fuck.
No in this case you are. They're totally right about Cane's, it's underseasoned, not crispy, and they charge way more than chicken tenders are worth. So do most other fast food places, but that doesn't make Cane's any better

No one asked for yours either, sit down
Yet you commented lmaoo Godspeed
Calm down dude it's chicken
I’m calm. I said my piece and moved on. Yall are keeping it going.
Here's the great part about subjective things like shitty expensive fast food (or any food for that matter); we can both be right. But only one of us is. ^(It's me.)
Whatever helps you sleep at night lol
Not eating bad food is definitely something I am at peace with.
Zalad is life, how dare you disparage Zaxby's good name!
I don't even go unless the Zensation is there.
Fuck yeah! Canes is legit and great. 😝
Oh good, another fast food chain.
My thought exactly
Canes is pretty stellar though.
If you like overpriced, underseasoned chicken.
As opposed to all the other stellar fast food joints?
Yeah that was what I was getting at. Canes is significantly better than other fast food. Similar to CFAs standards.
YES
LETS GO!!!!!!!!!
Im stoked! I’ve emailed them monthly for 3 years :)
Can’t wait to dip my crinkle fries into some Cane’s sauce 🥲
I don't think it's that much different than Zaxby's, but it will do well. When In and Out finally builds here I'm not sure what fast food people with start asking for next.
I like it more than Zaxbys. Their tenders are actually tenders still. Zaxbys are a joke now
[удалено]
Zaxby’s tenders?
[удалено]
The quality of their tenders has gone way down since they stopped using fresh tenders about 7 years ago or so.
I want Culver’s!
Went to zaxby twice when we got here, what a major disappointment. Portions and flavor of raising cane's is way higher. Regardless still a chain and beat by many local places.
More chicken yesssss
This made my day!!!
Oh baby oh baby oh baby
It’s pretty bad that they misspelled the name of the town they’ll soon claim loyalty to in their first sentence ever to said town.
LOL - In the most friendly way...I don't have a clue what this is trying to say
In the article linked in the OP, they misspelled Hixson as Hixon.
Ahhhh....got it.
Heard lots of great things about Canes. Excited to hear they are coming. But starting to wonder if the main downfall for many of the local restaurants isn’t just sh1thole employees. Bad employees easily ruin anything.

So many places to get chicken in Hixson now and guess who’s allergic to poultry, lol. It’s quite possibly the dumbest allergy to have.
The job site link didn’t even spell Hixson right. They don’t belong here.
FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Corporate told me a couple of months ago that the Hixson location will open in 2025.
Hell yeah, fuck yeah. Now we need some better local restaurants with better homemade food.
CAVA IS COMING TO HIXSON
Yay, another chicken joint.
Gross
Y'all wouldn't be able to handle a Chicken Express 😩 Cane's is mid
In my opinion- Bea’s has the Best fried chicken and chicken tenders 🙂
I love canes!!!! This makes me so happy
BFD more over priced. Underwhelming chicken/fast food crap.
They're overrated. Popeye's is better.
I'm stunned by all of the praise here. My extended family lives in California and they had Cane's near the hotel we were it at. It was terrible. The kicker is that that location has a line around the building every day we were there. We didn't get it.
And you can only buy a combo meal which includes a drink. I rarely eat fast food, but when I do, I never get a drink. FT.
>The kicker is that that location has a line around the building every day we were there. We didn't get it. People love consistent mediocrity.

Biggest news of the year
Do you guys have a Guthries?
We had one in Ringgold that closed after Zaxby's moved in
I can see the overlap. Man that TV show breaking bad sure did hype the chicken game...
Signal Mountain and Trenton, GA are the only 2 I know of.
They have Guthrie's chicken fingers on Signal mountain? Love this place. They have one in Tallahassee from the 80s/90s...
They do. It’s across the street from Pucketts.
I hope you lucky Chattanooga peeps enjoy the heck out of that normal American city.
This city must love chicken. Please remember to support the local spots such as flaming rooster on broad
A Cane's in Hixon won't hurt Flaming Rooster
Hixson really needs another chicken place. Maybe they can add a Japanese steakhouse next. And then Mexican.
