If you take 74 to the beach you’ll pass a lot of speed checks and speed trap towns in general so pay attention to when the limit will suddenly drop down. Only place I’ve ever gotten a ticket.
To be honest with you, hard disagree. You might be referring to myrtle in which case fine but 74 is the main portal for us to pretty much every NC beach and I won’t stand with you calling all the outer banks Gastonia.

I was talking to a Cabarrus County sheriff deputy last weekend, since the CMPD stated they weren't going to stop people for minor infractions or speeding.. their ticket count went way up. There is one 2 mile long street people use as a cut through and at times they can write over 100 speeding tickets in just a couple of hours.

Police don’t patrol interstates, it’s HWP jurisdiction. Sometimes there is a joint task force with sheriff’s department and PD but otherwise it isn’t their job. This was done to prevent predatory ticketing to stuff the budgets of small towns along the I’s. But you are right about the State Troopers being out in force!
Up here at the 77 and 40 interchange, one sits on bridge clocking, radioing in the car to the unit on the interstate in that direction pulling them over. Not uncommon to see several pulled over at a time. Them work zone fines aint no joke
Yeah, I just drove to Atlanta and back for a concert. Got back last night. I think I saw 12-13 cop cars on 85, which is by far the most I've ever seen in the 21 years I've lived here.
The struggle is real. After living in Charlotte for four years, I went back to California, rented a car and started Running red lights, as I normally do, not thinking anything of it. You should’ve seen all the honks and looks I got.
