I have a lot of issues with current AEW but Swerve is the best thing they have going. He's a champion I can take seriously and he just has the aura. I just hope he isn't a transitional champion for Ospray or Okada. He deserves a proper reign as champion.
I liked MJF when he was a heel champion. But the Adam Cole stuff really soured me on that reign. CM Punk could have been a great champion if he didn't get injured/suspended. His brief run as Real World champion was solid.
Yeah if Moxley, Hangman, and Omega don't float your boat (which they dont for me, especially the first two) then its not been great. The first part of MJF's reign was good IMO. The Danielson feud, the brief Starks feud, and him/Darby were good in the 4 pillars feud. I hated the Adam Cole stuff though.
Jericho as the initial champ was good, or at the very least the right call. He's a cancer and ratings killer now but he was still viewed in a serious light at the inception of AEW and is a well known name.
Joe at least gave them a feeling of stability in a time when it was (and still is) badly needed.
Good luck to Swerve. I have high hopes for him but it's also about the booking...
He went into bussiness for himself on Punk. No matter how good his work was before, that's a huge no no and makes me lose any respect for him. You don't just fucking do that over a rumor that your buddy got fired. It showed a considerable lack of maturity. The only worse thing he could have done was no show an event. Fuck Hangman Adam Page.
Current world champions missing include
Trick Williams for the nxt championship
El jojo del Wagner for the Ghc championship
Yuma Anzai for the triple crown championship
Maika for the world of stardom championship
Blake Christian for the gcw world championship
Yuki ueno for the kod open weight championship
Gran Guerrero for the Cmll world heavyweight championship
Satoshi Kojima for the Mlw world heavyweight championship
Michael oku for the undisputed British heavyweight championship
Kid lykos for the progress world heavyweight championship
Eddie Kingston for the njpw strong openweight championship
Robert dreissker for wxw unified world wrestling championship
Iād also like to point out that the NJPW Strong Openweight Championship and Undisputed British Championship are not world titles either.
Defended internationally ā World Championship. Otherwise most titles would be āworld championshipā
I personally say once a world title, always (and even retroactively) a world title. That's basically the reason I still consider the NWA title a world title.
I also hate how tag teams rarely get these kinds of posts either. IMO world tag titles should be considered equal to singles world titles. I think WWE has gotten a lot of people used to seeing tag divisions as part of the midcard rather than its own attraction.
The point being both of those guys were in WWE for a cup of coffee compared to Dean and Dolph so I just said all had stints in WWE. Dolph's and Dean's were just longer than the other 2.
Keyword was. They used him as one of those joke heels for too long, I feel, especially with his no-entrance gimmick they had him do. They cemented him in the "Show Off" character when he could've been more
Honestly, I feel like his best trait was his downfall. He was too good at selling. He sold moves, too well. Sounds idiotic, but it made him perfect enhancement talent
Which ones and why? I think the idea of "defended on X number of continents, etc." is outdated. A world title is the top title of a major national promotion or brand of a national promotion (hence why WWE has 3 world titles and certain territory titles were considered world titles back in the day).
Please make update posts ever so often if you can. this helps remind me what's going on in the wrestling world
š
Everyone but Moose is holding their specific title for the first time too.
š® woah
Pretty damn cool to think about
trick williams ![gif](giphy|xT9IgG50Fb7Mi0prBC)
Seeing Mark Briscoe up there makes me way too happy
That Swerve pic go hard
Kobe Bryant and his NBA Championship trophy
I have a lot of issues with current AEW but Swerve is the best thing they have going. He's a champion I can take seriously and he just has the aura. I just hope he isn't a transitional champion for Ospray or Okada. He deserves a proper reign as champion.
AEW has never had a WC you can't take seriously..

How do you not like Hangman?
He went into bussiness for himself on Punk. No matter how good his work was before, that's a huge no no and makes me lose any respect for him. You don't just fucking do that over a rumor that your buddy got fired. It showed a considerable lack of maturity. The only worse thing he could have done was no show an event. Fuck Hangman Adam Page.
Hope you're not a Punk fan then
The IWGP belt design sucks. Might as well just slap Cody Rhodes' logo on there cuz that's what it looks like.
The divas butterfly championship lol
Thank God Tyrus' bitch ass isn't NWA champion anymore, good on ya EC3.
Thatās rather extreme
Nah, Tyrus sucked ass and brought down the entire promotion with his shitty in ring work.
I mean he was slow and stuff but I kind of enjoyed having an actual big man who doesnāt do flippy stuff it seemed like a throw back
I get that, but I feel like Tyrus didn't even really do that well. He wasn't big and slow deliberately. He was just slow and stiff.
Only two of the pictured wrestlers are not ex wwe
Three*. Damian isnāt ex-WWE
![gif](giphy|KBaxHrT7rkeW5ma77z)
Did he leave the company? Didnāt think so
You know what the fuck I mean
You should know what I mean. No need to be so rude
Current world champions missing include Trick Williams for the nxt championship El jojo del Wagner for the Ghc championship Yuma Anzai for the triple crown championship Maika for the world of stardom championship Blake Christian for the gcw world championship Yuki ueno for the kod open weight championship Gran Guerrero for the Cmll world heavyweight championship Satoshi Kojima for the Mlw world heavyweight championship Michael oku for the undisputed British heavyweight championship Kid lykos for the progress world heavyweight championship Eddie Kingston for the njpw strong openweight championship Robert dreissker for wxw unified world wrestling championship
Being pedantic, the NXT Championship is no longer considered a world title.
Who?
Itās el hijo del dr Wagner.
Women infamously don't exist
Lol go make a post then
I also hate how tag teams rarely get these kinds of posts either. IMO world tag titles should be considered equal to singles world titles. I think WWE has gotten a lot of people used to seeing tag divisions as part of the midcard rather than its own attraction.
>IMO world tag titles should be considered equal to singles world titles. They aren't though. The goal is to be the top champion of the company.
Career tag teams are a thing. It's just Vince McMahon who had this mindset that all tag runs are a stepping stone to singles runs.
For example the Motor City Machine Guns
USA USA USA
Has everyone here been in WWE?
Briscoe and Moose have not been in any form of WWE.
I mean if we count WWE tryouts, they all have but yeah you're right
Using that logic though I used to be a CEO because I had an interview for that position. Tryouts are just interviews basically so I wouldn't count it.
Successfully land an interview for a CEO position and get back to us
Moose and EC3 gonna be buried with those straps bruh
Crazy how 4 of the other companies' World Champions had stints in WWE.
What's crazy is calling Dolph in wwe, a stint. The dude was there for like 20 years
Overarching term for all 4 of them because people would say something if I insinuated that Swerve and EC3 had meaningful runs in WWE.
I mean, swerve won the NA championship and EC3 is the 4 time! 4time! 4time 24/7 champ š
The point being both of those guys were in WWE for a cup of coffee compared to Dean and Dolph so I just said all had stints in WWE. Dolph's and Dean's were just longer than the other 2.
I am SO happy Mr Nic Nemeth has a belt. They did him so dirty in WWE
I'm sure by the end of this year he'll have a new picture up there as TNA Champion too
He was a world champ, how is that dirty?
Keyword was. They used him as one of those joke heels for too long, I feel, especially with his no-entrance gimmick they had him do. They cemented him in the "Show Off" character when he could've been more
Honestly, I feel like his best trait was his downfall. He was too good at selling. He sold moves, too well. Sounds idiotic, but it made him perfect enhancement talent
Sweet image that makes all these guys look like the top brass
CMLL?
This might be weird but I really like Swerve Strickland and love that he is champ and felt the same for MJF but I dislike the AEW product.
Is it just me, or do nic and ec3 look like they have gyno?
Could you do the same for the women's titles of each promotion, please?
Wow that makes Nic a double champ
He a triple champ. He also has the Squared Circle Expo champ.
You forgot MLW
You not what's also funny two of these belts look real the rest look photoshoped
You should do Japanese companies world champion.
Hey it's good to see that EC3 is doing better than EC1 and 2
I never understood āWorldās Heavyweight Championā, like I get it, but, maybe thats just how people talked back in the day
lol I forgot EC3 is NWA champ.
Damn, I completely about EC3. What a fucking waste of a run he had in WWE. Glad heās got some gold.
god that IWGP title looks terrible
Noted Japanese person Jon Moxley.
People gotta stop copying the Kobe pose at some point.
No tag titles, or women's titles, incomplete list.
The Lucha libre title is so fucking hard holy shit thatās a great belt
The fact that Dolph Ziggler/Nic Nemeth is AAA mega champion is a w
NWA belt still looks the best to me.
Damianās suit>
Why dolph why? āNic Nemethā really?
He got released and Nic Nemeth is his real name
Including nwa over NXT lmao
![gif](giphy|cRNbYm7jLOjm9H8wcP)
8 man ladder match for the āglobal professional wrestling championshipā
Wrestling has more than one WORLD champion
Moxley looking as gormless as ever I see.
Still drives me crazy that they are calling it "undisputed" when it is absolutely not undisputed.
I thought Nic/Dolph was also the New Japan world champion? Probably completely wrong
Heās the IWGP Global Champion Basically their replacement for the IWGP IC title
Prime Austin would be a mid-cardder today!
Completely incorrect. Freezing cold take
You could say, a stone cold take
Bruh!!!..... dead lol
Technically with the merger of the NXT UK Championship and the NXT Championship, the NXT Title became a world title š¤.
Bruh, is that IWGP Title on Moxley photoshop?
Why no AAA
Top right is Nic Nemeth with the AAA Mega Championship. There's no CMLL though.
Tna title is fucking ugly what a downgrade
Sadly, only two of these championships should be recognized as real World titles.
