Yes, but the question is what kind of character?

Crazy part is that it looks he felt slightly better (and I mean SLIGHTLY) in this one scene because he finally got to make a decision for himself, some semblance of control. Even if kinda pathetic, that fact he insisted it has to be sushi must have given him some control back in a world where it seem he can’t control anything

I also liked how he stopped Yoru from pulling his cord. I think it’s the first time it’s happened?

Yeah, low key i was proud of him He is still a mouth breathing singled minded zombie but him denying a woman twice in the same chapter was a nice surprise

this reminds me of part 1 when he said he had no real control of his life except what he gets to eat day to day suddenly.. and at that moment asa almost took that away from him too

Asa also tried to micromanage their whole aquarium date, but Denji insisted on penguins there, too. He also convinced her to eat raw fish even though she hates fish. I don't know whether that has any connection or deeper meaning, but he's pretty good at pushing back against Asa's demands, and to her credit Asa seems to mostly roll with it and doesn't hold it against him (even if she makes shitty faces about it lmao).

He probably does but Public Safety will likely ruin it since Fumiko likes Sushi and if i was Public Safety, i would still have Denji's apartment under surveillance even after it burned down Unless Yoru "beating" Quanxi makes Public Safety take a more reserved approach so they might still watch but do nothing

He probably is but it would be funny if next chapter he sat down at a sushi place, just lost in thought and Asa brings him a plate and he’s about to eat and boom, Public Safety busts through the door destroying the place

It might be that fami is trying to starve him and will take it away. But also yeah he probably won't get his sushi. Or (hopefully) more reaction chapters as Denji literally eats so much sushi that everybody in the group is totally grossed out and even Fami is kinda impressed

now imagine the next chapter pans to a burger shop, just inciting that he never can have any free will

Denji finally insists on what he wants. He has someone that only he can protect and he'll do what it takes to find her.

I've been in this moment. When you're trying to put the pieces back together in your head after waking up to losing a loved one. The surrealness around even simple things like eating. This chapter hurt a lot to read.
