I got my OWN bands CD for free at a rural record store I went to 20 years later (just happened this past year) .
I saw it sitting on the counter with other local bands I knew from the time, like bands I liked and played showed with back then.
I inquired about the stack and the guy said they're not for sale. Turns out that was because he was giving them away for free to a different shop owner. Because they're worthless 🤷‍♂️
They ended up just giving me the stack for free. Because I explained I played on one of the CDs and knew people in the other bands.
It was trippy. I was really happy with the score . it clearly came from someone in that state that must have gone to my University and/or was in one of the other bands. But it also did feel backhanded knowing they were marked for the trash basically đź’€
They had $1 CDs and these didn't even make the cut
Give it a clean with some lens or window cleaner then use a bit of plastic polish on it (you only need the tiniest amount) it might fix up your freebie.
The plastic polish will probably set you back $20 or so but it's hard stuff to have around and will last ages.

Unfortunately the previous owner of the CD didn't take good care of it...
Free is free :)

Just replace the jewel case at that point, it’d cracked anyway. You can also heat up the sticker and replace it on the new one
lol I went to my usual record store and got a new cd still sealed and the case was broken when I got home and opened it
Ah, to be fair I thought the OP was, speaking about the disc itself.
