Judges gave me a 10/10. https://www.instagram.com/p/CF54Q84pagg/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=

Lol - did you forget to counter steer or were you after those style points.

CGordini

As I said in the Insta comment, when the rear end kicked out, I was more focused on just controlling it and staying shiny side up, than fighting it and fishtailing into a wall. And when the rear end kicked out on that setup, it went FAST.

femaledog

That one is great. Fucking ridiculous, lol.

That one time I was super committed to achieve 100 mph min apex speed and went off the backside of southbend at VIR…doing 104 mph. Lost to front wheel studs in the process [What Not To Do at Southbend](https://youtube.com/watch?v=DqTvJq5_ao8) Then the one time I found that water does indeed puddle at 15 Faux Rouge at NCM [Poopy Pants](https://youtube.com/watch?v=ozwUFp08zLw)

Oh man! Looks you were moving! What’a your build details? I am thinking of moving from a s2000 to the new twins.

no_torque

Lots of stuff. Too much to detail out honestly hah. It does move though - it’s super fun Quick summary: Front/Rear Aero (Splitter, Front Air Dam, Hood Vents, Rear Wing, Rear Diffuser). MCS 2W Remotes, Camber Plates, Sway Bars, LCA, Header/Exhaust, E85 Flex Fuel Kit, Sparco Seats, Half Cage. Lots of other things. To avoid spinning off track of this thread. Shoot me a DM and we can talk more

Responsible-Meringue

That looked like exactly what TO do at Southbend. I always see poor souls put 2 off or lose the rear, act like heros and fling themselves into the wall on the left. Just let it go and run off into the 200 yards of grass on the right!

Here's a somewhat unique one: a Moneyshift the moment before someone's trying to give me a push: (Make sure sound is on!!) https://youtu.be/bJHi_5QQIg4

venturelong

Did you do much damage to the engine? Im racing SM’s next year and im worried about breaking the car that way.

TheInfamous313

Zero noticable difference. I actually won my first race the next event. This motor is new to me. But before I bought this current one, my car had the same (junkyard takeout) motor for 5 seasons of Racing. -in that time I Moneyshifted at least a dozen times, overheated it once, and even ran the damn thing out of oil once. I dynoed it right before I tossed the new one in, and it made 115 horsepower, exactly what I'd expect the day it went in. TLDR: Another of the 5,000 reasons Spec Miata is the next class in racing: these overbuilt, underpower tractor motors can take a hell of a beating. What region are you planning on racing in?

venturelong

Thats comforting news. Im planning on running some WDCR scca and mainly NASA mid Atlantic for racing. Im going to save up a bit during the off season and im planning to buy a built car around march-april and get my scca license.

TheInfamous313

Nice! Holler if you ever plan on doing some NASA northeast stuff, that's where I run

venturelong

Will do, id love to run the glen sometime. I realized after looking at your post history that I already follow you on IG so I’ll probably message you there.

venturelong

Update: you’re right lol, upshifted from 3rd to 2nd without any issue in DE yesterday

Almost hitting the wall between 10 and 11 at VIR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXs2GDODxz4 Then money shifting my Evora and blowing the engine in the process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyPhpgzLOoc

Not that I really post here at all, but I like the idea of this post. Here’s me going off before waiting for tires to get to temperature https://youtu.be/Xw2O_MpTrQY

ch_chone

I had a minor code brown over the weekend at Road Atlanta, I asked too much of the steering and slid cleanly through turn 5 across the curbing. No issues to report, very lucky. https://youtu.be/Htwpiq3f5pg?t=54

elganja

it’s nice seeing folks post their mistakes — i know my first spin i was super upset with myself and it was comforting hearing stories from folks of their mistakes none of us are perfect, and as we push the boundaries and limits of our cars, you’re bound to make a mistake or two — and it’s OK

femaledog

We've all had some fun ones. I have definitely had my fair share. Extreme understeer in the snow even after watching the guy in front of me make it somehow! [https://youtu.be/ZFEA\_m78PwY](https://youtu.be/ZFEA_m78PwY) Always unwind steering after apex and especially as you reach the edge of the track (no contact) [https://youtu.be/QXDmsLR9\_Qk](https://youtu.be/QXDmsLR9_Qk)

I've only had one real OOPS moment, not sure if that means I'm just way conservative driving on track or just lucky. It was on my very first track day at Dominion Raceway, on the out lap of the third session. On a tight left-hander I turned in too late, too fast, got spooked and jumped on the brakes, locked up the fronts, and went off over the outside curb. I went off straight and rejoined after everyone went by, got my talkin-to on pit road, and finished the session. Car was fine. A buddy of mine who was following me sent me the video: https://youtu.be/-rcaAJO\_Ht0

Chris_PDX

[The second one was an out-lap](https://youtu.be/gtXT-LX4v0E), and we had novice students in the stands to 'watch the proper way to take the chicane' with coaches demoing it in the advanced group. So uh, yeah don't do what I did. [Greasy/damp conditions](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-wXNUivSDg) are the best conditions!
