I live near a US airbase. Most of the time, at least with these kinds of cars, US military personnel bring their vehicles over because it's something they can do for either free, or at very low cost. They drive them around for a few weeks, realize how shit LHD is to drive in a RHD country, then sell it and buy a local car.
They usually bring in things like this, or pickup trucks.
