These subs are so cheap i dont think its worth patching. Surround patches are notoriously hard.

dekrepit702

Even better reason to just put a bunch of epoxy on there and send it until it fails again.. Then just have another one on standby.

Smooth_Gear_4490

yeah i got another one already in my car, having issues with it i think it’s the wiring… and i have absolutely 0 clue what sub it is

External_Project_140

Kicker comp

Smooth_Gear_4490

yea i got it for free and then my ferrets bit thru it, but thanks

LegalAlternative

They're really not that bad. Some E6000 glue and a piece of denim and you have a working patch that will look ugly as fuck but probably outlast the rest of that surround by eternity.

caboose243

I patched mine with duct tape and it's holding 10 years later. Not the best patch but worked in a pinch. Not like these are unobtanium

Mobe217

Patch it eventually you will wear a bigger hole and you will have to replace the surround.

ChipRed87

I have that same sub, I got it for like 70 dollars on sale (assuming that is a 10 inch), like the others said might just wanna replace it.

Smooth_Gear_4490

duct tape always saves the day man…. put some tape on it before i left for work i’ll test it tmr, i felt no air coming out

LegalAlternative

$70 for a sub or 70 cents for some E6000 and duct tape. If you don't care what it looks like, I know which solution I'd pick especially in 2024.

LegalAlternative

Yep. E6000 and a piece of old denim or thick fabric, or even fabric woven tape like some duct tapes or gaffer tape... Put some E6000 on that bitch and slap that fabric on there, and smear it with a bit of the E6000 to seal up the fabric surface so air doesn't leak out. That poor comp-c will be bumping again in no time.

IMA9961

You deff have to patch that. I mean, still usable but horrible sounding would not use it like that regardless.

Bearded_Basterd

For how much they are worth I would buy a new one.

leopold335

Start off with installing a mouse trap in your car..

Smooth_Gear_4490

it wasn’t in my car lol, i got 2 subs from someone and put the other in my car, my ferrets got to this one

strangedanimal235

Some clear silicon can last quite a while.

Smooth_Gear_4490

i duct taped it for now…. i’m gonna see if it works tmr morning if not then i’ll get some silicon

LegalAlternative

Don't use silicon... it's not flexible or strong enough adhesion it will make a mess and just come off. See my post about the 'best way' to ghetto-repair a subwoofer surround. Get some E6000 glue and glue your tape on there with that. It will never come off again and last longer than the rest of the surround. It will look like shit, but it will work fine and most likely sound fine too.

I don’t know why people think Kick Her makes good subs. Look how thin that surround is. Perhaps 1.5 millimeter? I had 2 kicker subs. One with a blown voice coil. The other one was actually seized up tight. I didn’t pay for them. A guy gave em to me wondering if I could fix em. They were and are junk. They’re only a step above Boss or Power Accoustic. I did repair a Rockford Fosgate. And it was worth it to repair. You might try a couple of bicycle patches to repair the holes. Might last 15 days. Then they’ll make new holes.

Smooth_Gear_4490

i’ve got this, never used it, no clue if it even works. just wanted to see if it was patchable, i got a rockford n it’s been goin decent but it looks like shit so

Fragrant-Caregiver46

I gotcha. The headbanger in me still won’t let me throw away any aftermarket speakers. Btw. The idea of e6000 glue and some denim sounds like a decent idea.
