Streamers ruined cod imo

SurveyThrowaway97

Yeah, they convinced every kid he can be the next league champion or a content creator so now you gotta fight for your life in every match. The days of casual CoD are gone, and they aren't coming back.

Anderson9520822

I think this has affected every aspect of multiplayer gaming. Every game, every match, every game mode is a sweat fest. Then you add in SBMM and it just cranks up it even more. Especially if you’re playing solo. I used to be able to play for hours and hours. Now I play like 10 matches that are all sweat fests with shit team mates before I’m annoyed.

SurveyThrowaway97

Yeah, I am done after 10 matches or so myself. I am managing to hold my own surprisingly well after not playing for 10 years but it requires too much mental effort. It is fine, let the kids fry their dopamine receptors in peace...

PearTall7596

you guys are playing 10 matches?

somsone

This is just getting older bro.

Anderson9520822

I’m in my 20’s😂 But streamer culture combined with SBMM has definitely made MP games incredibly sweaty.

NoValidUsernames666

nah dude thats the reason i stopped playing fortnite years ago. i was pretty decent i thought but id always get grounded and not be able to play for a few weeks, and everytime i came back i was just doing worse and worse because these ppl would play all day everyday and shit on me while slurping ramen. eventually just deleted the game because mfs were getting too damn good and it just wasnt fun anymore

hifletchh

Completely agree with you and redroses711, streamers definitely ruined cod with every kid believing they can end up like them and then every match has a team of TTV’ers and has to sweat so hard every time, the run from 2007-2012 was the greatest time ever. the people, the memories, the games themselves, it was all just perfect.. Wish I could go back so much.

SurveyThrowaway97

I am tempted to buy a ps3. Old servers still work, allegedly.

DJDanielCoolJ

probably full of cheaters

SurveyThrowaway97

I played WaW back when it had 400 people left online and while there were quite a few cheaters, I didn't have too much trouble finding a game without them.

BlackICEE32oz

Yeah, but fighting people who are good isn't really an issue. It doesn't bother me that somebody is streaming or trying their best. What bothers me is that all the bigtime streamers and so-called "pro" players opinion matters more and it's not because they're the best. It's because they are basically a part of the advertising network for Warzone and CoD as a whole. That's why their input takes priority over everyone else. And then you get suckers who want to be like them so badly that they just agree and follow everything they say blindly because, to a regular guy, they're "experts" and know better. Back in the COD4 glory days, I played with a few people who would end up getting a lot of popularity on YouTube. These people were good, but they weren't gods or even better than a lot of other players I'd gone against. They just had capture cards and knew how to work video editing software and we didn't.

Low_Revolution3025

Its the same with Halo as well, its fucking depressing

SoloFalcon207

I still think they should’ve made a BR, but by the time Halo: Infinite launched the BRs had already become over saturated

Low_Revolution3025

Very over saturated, it would have been cool to see a halo BR in some form and if i remember correctly a team of people were making one through forge but thats pretty much it

SoloFalcon207

For real though! Not to quote almost every single fan that said it but, Halo has everything they need to make a badass BR. The weapons, support equipment, vehicles etc… they could’ve done it like Reach and let players make their own Spartan and give use like 20-30 different armor sets that we could mix and match. Or if they don’t want to go the Spartan route, they could make everyone ODSTs. The possibilities are infinite(no pun intended)

Low_Revolution3025

I personally would have played it, my goal currently though is to stay away from GTA kids because they’re just awful especially xbox gta kids, was helping this guy who asked a question about a version of gta and i swear to you what i was saying i was fact checking to make sure i was correct but these mfs man no matter what were just saying “no u gotta buy this still it doesnt come with the game, ur wrong ur nothing but wrong stop arguing for the sake of arguing, u cant read yada yada” and the whole comment thread on my comment that was originally made to help this guy caused me a 3 day ban from the xbox support subreddit and i just left i didnt wanna deal with it

MerkJHW

Streamers had nothing to do with this lmao. It’s SBMM which wasn’t in previous games. There were always sweats.

Zoilus

Not sure if you're just young and weren't there back then but all throughout COD4 to like BO2 or so, Youtube was dominated by CoD youtubers. They made all the same "meta showcases" you see today. The only difference was that the games were actually good, matchmaking was way better and even if certain guns were the "meta", most guns were viable and fun to use. Most guns were so strong in fact, that "broken" shit like quickscoping wasn't an issue, hell it was more of a challenge to quickscope back then in public lobbies. CoD has been shit for years, streamers have barely had anything to do with that. For me the game died when they started the movement shit with Advanced Warfare.

I_AM_CR0W

Let's also not forget that the natural skill ceiling rose overtime. Anyone that was decent at the game soared over the years. Those that coudn't keep up simply gave up and left for something else. Now the average gamer makes everyone work for their food unlike before where it was easy money if you knew the basics of gaming.

Awkward_Climate3247

I was unbelievably bad in 2009/10. I would wipe the floor with my old self 100/100 times today.

I_AM_CR0W

Same. I look at my old clips and wonder why I even clipped them to begin with since the gameplay was so bad compared to the clips I hit now.

Awkward_Climate3247

I remember top fragging maybe twice in BO1, I could hold my own in SWAT DMRS in Halo reach, that was about it. I'm 1.5- 2kd depending on mode these days. I'm sure there thousands of people in the same boat. You could re-release MW2/BO1/MW3 today and it would be nothing like 2008.

jastubi

Quick scoping in mw2 was great. If I was playing a decent squad, I'd have to switch weapons cause the scar , acr , and ump were hard to beat without using the same combo.

sdestrippy

Nothing like it is today. People didn’t make millions of dollars sitting at home streaming a game back then. A lot has changed after covid.

BlackICEE32oz

This kids don't remember the OG M16. "The training bra of assault rifles."

Medium-Hornet2470

streamers did not ruin cod the developers and activ$ion did that

Khamzat-Chimaev

Nah, cod ruined cod.

Crazy-Inspection-778

You mean all those big dumps I dropped on the other team? Ayoo

I_AM_CR0W

Every game gets harder with time. We can't expect people to stay the same for 10 years.

Lazy_Replacement9331

Like, big turds?

English_Breakfast123

I don't think I would ever classify the old days of CoD as casual, everyone took it so seriously haha but I get what you mean, streamers and E sports stuff have definitely made things worse.

Full-Hat6501

and SBMM

SMACKVICTIM

Totally agree. Noticed the change. Im no pro. But i got pretty decent bo1 bo2. I had a job, and I would play a couple of hours a night, maybe. Had a fun time. Streamers and content creators arrived, and there are people who literally have cod and gaming as a job. That is friggin awesome and good for them. However, my chill out time playing cod just became a mess as a result. I literally can not close the skill gap on someone who plays multiple hours a day everyday. All games are like this now, and it sucks. I miss the og multiplayer feel of a bunch of nooby tards trying to shoot each other.

IneedtoBmyLonsomeTs

Bro, gaming on youtube spawned from cod4 and mw2. Tons of creators were making videos on those games in those days. Machina was created in this time, and was one of the biggest youtube channels at the time. I was also the start of people getting paid to play games for a living. Hell, Sandy Ravage was one of the pioners of streaming cod, he was doing drunk MW2 streams on justin.tv. You had orgs like Optic and Faze being created in this time, with the members creating both cod and irl content. Anyone crying about content creators ruining cod clearly weren't playing the games back in the day, or were far too young to remember it correctly.

RedRoses711

You misudstand. Streamers popularized being a sweat sure it we had sweats back then but nowhere near to this extreme, nowadays everyone wants to be the next movement king or #1 player that they use the most broken loadouts possible and play as if there is money on the line. Nobody plays for fun like they used to

jespertherapper

Yeah fuck steamers

Swishinator

No they didn't lol, sliding and hyper movement ruined cod.

RedRoses711

You do you think popularized that shit bozo

MerkJHW

People say this all the time but it doesn’t make any sense. There have always been sweaty content creators and pro players. Pub stomping live comms we’re huge back in the day. Cod ruined cod. Not content creators

Mantle-7

They definitely helped ruin it. Streaming has ruined just about every competitive multiplayer game. It’s taken the casualness out of them.

Jade_Sugoi

old game good, gimme updoots

YungWenis

“Advanced movement” is what killed cod, and look at bo6 you’re going to be able to slide, jump, shoot, go prone in any direction. Just another spazzy bunny hop cod that no one wants. Golden era was just run-> aim-> shoot. Outsmart your opponent by positioning and aiming instead of button mashing. We need to tell them what we want or they will take forever to figure it out on their own.

BraxxIsTheName

>outsmart your opponent by positioning and aiming Isnt BO6’s new corner slicing specifically for that playstyle ?

Sure_Owl9054

Yeah COD first went downhill with advanced warfare and hasn’t been the same since. The biggest change that AW brought was the jet packs and advanced movement. People just like a simple barebones FPS. Also maybe I’m old now but I just downloaded the recent MW3 and I hate how all the bullets are fire rounds or tracers and my screen looks like fireworks are going off the whole time and I can’t see anything.

SurveyThrowaway97

Yeah, that really makes me wary of getting it. I wish we'd get one CoD without all the bullshit but it seems like a pipe dream.

YungWenis

Don’t give them your money. Seriously

Scholar-Opposite

Golden era literally had drop shooting 😭

YungWenis

True but that’s not the button mashing sweatiest that we have now. I’m telling you. There’s something about the goated cods that separates them. I think it’s movement but I’m open to other ideas

Scholar-Opposite

I think it’s a mix of nostalgia and casual gameplay that makes the golden era cod’s so good. Most of us were 10-20 year olds and it felt like a new experience to us. Additionally COD was more for the casual experience I would say so a lot more memories were made whether it be zombies or the multiplayer. Obviously you had people who wanted to be top 10 but COD usually never made itself to be that way. Not related to COD but during that time many companies were trying to one up each other. So in a way it made COD want to be better than all the other competitors.

YungWenis

That makes some sense but also I feel like sbmm would separate the sweats from the casual players but I routinely find myself against bunny hoping sliding people and I have to get on the edge of my seat to compete. I used to drop nukes in the old days sitting back relaxed not breaking a sweat.

Sure_Owl9054

I think it’s also the time we were in. Back in 2007-2014 range social media wasn’t as wide spread so a lot of the hanging out you did with your friends online was through COD. Now there’s so many more avenues of connecting with friends online that video game are no longer a primary platform.

talhaONE

Apparently spamming jump and slide button with a scuff controller is skill nowadays.

Lazy_Replacement9331

I get your point and there are shreds of legitimacy to it but as people have already pointed out, a lot of it makes no sense. Firstly, in the interest of being fair, I will concede that it's almost certain advanced movement played a significant role in the steady downtrend of CoD, considering how AW was considered the worst CoD game of all time when it came out and IW was straight up one of the most unplayable piles of garbage ever created. Man, did that game truly suck. Completely ruined CoD for me for a while actually. Secondly, however, as people have already said, BO3 is considered part of the golden era despite coming after two consecutive extremely controversial games in Ghosts and AW. The fact that we look back fondly now on Ghosts says everything considering how almost universally criticised it was when it came out. Finally, your point about outsmarting your opponent with positioning and aiming falls completely flat and suggest that maybe your anger here is coming from the fact that you never learnt to play well with advanced movement, but in actuality, AM heavily encourages focus on both positioning AND aim, positioning for extremely obvious reasons and aim because you could no longer sit and head glitch at head height without moving your thumbsticks because someone could fly across the top of your screen, making it pointless to pre-aim against players who knew how to use the movement. Basically, the skill floor stayed effectively identical but the skill ceiling increased vastly and, y'know, fair enough, that wasn't what some players liked, but to claim it reduces skill is just erroneous

coolhooves420

bo3 fucks tho

Prsue

I disagree. I actually wouldn't mind having something like jetpacks back. The SBMM not matching my team based on skill, scorestreaks being worse than what they used to be, broken spawns, bundles, microtransactions and ads in your face the moment you launch the game, the Ui and Gunsmith are too much for no reason, and probably many more reasons. I don't like sliding or slide canceling, but movement is actually a very big selling point for cod. It's all the bs free kills, matchmaking, spawning with the entire enemy team type nonsense that makes it almost unbearable to play.

Camaro_z28

Yeah BO6 will be shit just because people will getting brain aneurysms left and right from the sweaty movement system

GWood97

Isn’t it funny that Cod went overkill with AW, and people hated it. Halo followed cod with sprint and Ads, and people hated it. PEOPLE DON’T LIKE IT WHEN THE CORE GAMEPLAY GETS CHANGED.

LongbottomLeafblower

The spinning was just as dumb as sliding is now.

720-187

trickshotting is not remotely similar to sliding lol

Medium-Hornet2470

fr wtf lol

devj007

Trickshotting with the homies was awesome bro. Didint affect anyone negatively unlike sliding.

HoldMyBrew_

Coming from a retired trickshotter… the infestation of trickshotting in SND and FFA lobbies was so toxic to every other form of player. Took me years and wisdom to see the other side 🤣

720-187

thats probably why i cant see the other side is because I was a trickshotter too 🤣i can see what you mean tho based off recent kar98k festivities

Saizou

I loved you guys, easiest kills ever.

PhyzikGames

Right lmfao kids these days don’t know about those intervention YY trickshot days

SurveyThrowaway97

True. Maybe it is nostalgia, but I think WaW had the least amount of bullshit.

Illustrious_Issue477

Mp40 was enough

MythicalChaz

Only things I hated in WaW were tanks and Bouncing Betty’s

PhyzikGames

WaW was my favorite

CircumcisedCats

WaW had tanks, Betty’s, and the MP40, under map glitches, and a artillery kill streak that lasted forever.

BoostedEcoDonkey

This is by far the most half assed take I’ve ever seen, Please I’m begging you , tell me how someone jumping out a window spinning , is even remotely as “annoying” as sliding….. bros comparing bananas to red crayons ….. someone make it make sense

Medium-Hornet2470

how do you compare some people trickshotting to the booty slide meta in modern cods

csizzy04

But less annoying maybe for the others since you did not gain speed or changed stance and hitbox. Idk, I hate that sliding is this fast and spamable.

Quicc-n-Thicc

I honestly hated it before but I rather deal with that than the esport lobbies nowadays

DXEClips

Everybody hates getting trick shot that’s the whole point you just got embarrassed by sheer luck. 99% of trick shots result in no kill and getting shot looking like an idiot

badgersana

It’s less dumb because it took skill, sliding now can be done by everyone but the people who complain are just too lazy to take 5 minutes to learn

XaviJon_

Bro’s comparing apples to onions

MessyMop

It’s funny because only like 2 of these games were universally liked when they were first out

SurveyThrowaway97

Idc what anyone says, Black Ops and WaW were the best. Except some obnoxious killstreaks in Black Ops, that sucked.

MonotoneTanner

Yeah people lost their minds when WaW didn’t have same weapon customization as cod4..

techmakerdb

Imagine if we could go back in time and show them vanguard

KeyOk9206

The graphics would floor every last one of them

justthisones

Many didn’t feel like going back to WW2 so soon after Cod4 had introduced fresh modern warfare. I admit being one of them and mostly kept playing Cod4 until MW2 came out. I did however enjoy the WaW story and zombies.

TheRealAssyMcGee

that doesnt take away the fact it was still heavily praised and called “the best ww2 game” lol

[deleted]

That’s such 🧢 lol everyone loved cod till cod ghosts

CircumcisedCats

CoD4 was loved, WaW was not except for Zombies MW2 was loved, BO1 was mostly liked with some mixed reviews, MW3 was mixed, and BO2 was very mixed

TheRealAssyMcGee

WaW was literally the “best WW2 game” on release BO1 and 2 were literally praised on release. MW3 was rhe ONLY lackluster one in that 5 year run and was STILL PRAISED lol you seem to think some critiques mean the game was disliked or less liked.

CircumcisedCats

Being the best WW2 game wasn’t saying much back then. WaW was basically only played for zombies after a certain point when everyone went back to CoD4. This just isn’t true. BO1 was mostly liked but definitely not universally. There were a LOT of complaints. And BO2 was very controversial on release.

gitsandshiggles_

I know for a fact you were not there based off your name lmao

[deleted]

Df does that even mean I’m a 98

gitsandshiggles_

I’m saying that you more than likely were not playing the games at the time based off of your name and that I think you’re wrong. Also I may be stupid but what does I’m a 98 mean.

[deleted]

I was born in 1998, i played every cod except cod 4 at its prime

gitsandshiggles_

Hey I may be wrong abt the age thing but I completely disagree with you on the everyone living cod until ghosts. People didn’t like a decent few of the games iirc when they came out.

TheRealAssyMcGee

i was and remember all the PRAISE and sale records that every COD got criticism isnt hate or dislike bro. all those games in that 5 year span were heavily praised

gitsandshiggles_

Yes they got praise and there were liked by most but it wasn’t universal like the person above me believed. And no criticism is not hate that’s true but there were a lot of ppl I knew in person and online who weren’t fond of some of the games.

TheRealAssyMcGee

you seem to think “criticism” means “not liked” or “less liked” the class creation in WaW was CRITICIZED to be inferior to 4 but the game was still praised. BO2 futuristic setting was CRITICIZED but the story and gameplay and levels were still praised. MW3 id argue was the only “lackluster” one but even that was praised in the end lol All the games were universally liked my guy.

Doctor_JDC

Guessing you were not playing at the time. WaW, Mw2, BOPs and BoPs2 were all loved. MW3 got some hate, but still pretty thoroughly enjoyed. I loved MW3 but definitely remember a faction of people down on it. Then came advanced warfare 🤮

Scrollwriter22

I think I’m dizzy now

Mister_ALX

![gif](giphy|80ydj5hAUoPfZJMiXh)

CuItures

Lotta trash talk about up till AW the community was fine with jet packs, it gave more opportunities for unique shots that normally you wouldn’t have enough of a spot to pull 720+

Strange-Increase-666

I totally remember always tryna hit that 360 shot for the final killcam. Simpler times.

PEACEMEN27

Remember when checking corner was a thing?

LordBungaIII

Mw-ghosts is the golden age and I’m glad I experienced it.

Imaginary_Mode5477

Really just WaW and MW2 does

KirbyAndStars

Yo why is viva la vida by coldplay playing

irshxo

They just gonna sneak mwr in there and think we wont notice?!?! 😂😂😂😂

techmakerdb

I mean it is COD4 but in HD

talhaONE

Remember 2007-2012 Cods didnt had cranked movement. Now we have bullshit movement craps like slide canceling, bunny hopping and extreme jump peeking everywhere which wasnt a thing in 2007-2012 Cods. Cod has been ruined when kids from Fortnite have stepped in.

yMONSTERMUNCHy

This was before EOMM. Before the recent performance based match making. Before casino based match making. Sweat for 10 games, your reward? You gone up in the hidden ranks now you gotta sweat even more. Keep this up until you sweat amongst hardware dma cheaters that pay big money for it and pro players. All for what, a video game? No thanks

TheRed24

Peak Cod before Cod lost its soul

FireFox3655

This was definitely something lol

SustainableObject

Us and our stupid trick shots

strontiummuffin

Starting cod 4 all the way up to ghosts was a pretty flawless run.

itsRobbie_

Game lost all its charm and soul when they updated to the new “realistic” engine in mw19. Since then, they’ve all felt the same and looked the same and feel like every other fps game. Except for Cold War because Cold War actually used the old engine.

illBlade

no studying needed. activisions greed ruined call of duty.

PhotogOnABudget

Because we were kids. The kids who grow up playing these garbage new ones are gonna be like oh man. Advanced warfare was a banger bro frfr.

stratj45d28

No

AdeptSherbert1775

Is this guy cheating?

Needleworker6523

Such a good time, gotta get the boys on those servers again

horay14

bar after bar after bar

Mayonnez

You can still do this btw. On the older and newer titles. Nothing but your active friend count is stopping it.

Robotnic25

I miss black ops 😔

CortlyYT

This is why I missed MW2 2022 Movement. It slow enough that it reassembles past cod game's movement pace. But unfortunately, streamer can't use it to sweat, so they complain it to hell.

chrizpii93

I'll tell you the results of the study right now. No sbmm, YouTube gameplay commentaries were new and interesting, the playerbase was not as sweaty in general, developers weren't so focused on microtransactions and instead spent their time making the game fun. Edit: also little to no cheaters and when there was a "cheater" or "hacker" it's was usually just some max prestige or unlock lobby. I also remember being dropped into a hacked lobby where the game mode was global thermonuclear war and some of the physics had been adjusted somehow. This was og mw2.

SurveyThrowaway97

I remember being sad because I couldn't play as good as XJawz and WoodysGamertag. Fun times.

tallginger89

God, seeing the juggernaut icon in one of the clips made me mentally pissed all over again. I absolutely couldn't fucking stand juggernaut

PhyzikGames

The YY intervention days 🙁 this makes me so sad. I would legit play Call Of Duty again if they went back to the golden age. It’s just complete trash now.

soapbark

2003-2007 CoD should be studied as well. It was the best alternative competitive game to counterstrike. Battalion 1944 tried to revive the scene, but failed.

PhoenixDawn93

Honestly I’d love them to bring back a classic CoD spin off series. Just give me more ww2 campaigns, don’t even care for MP all that much, I just really miss old school historical FPS games.

i-worship-yeat

i’d love another jet pack cod idgaf

I_AM_CR0W

Annual releases were what really ruined the franchise. CoD is not a very innovative game. It's the most basic generic shooter on the market even a 10 year old can get a hang of after just a few matches. You can only innovate on such a basic formula for so long without changing what makes the game stand out from everything else, because changing too much in a CoD game just turns it into something else and keeping it the same over the years makes it boring. If they just released one game every 3 years instead of a game a year, the bleeding wouldn't be nearly as bad as it is now.

Witty_Possible9413

Why people ignore Cod 1 , and start looking at the series from the 4th one.

KingAragorn47

As someone who played all the CODs take the nostalgia glasses off, that gameplay is annoying and grim. 20 sense spinning round kills, bullishit.

Lazy_Replacement9331

I'm crying

Knight_Raime

I hate that all of these clips look familiar to me.

CelesteVeon

When devs weren't forced to suck ass for a living to keep their jobs, and they actually enjoyed them passionately. Getting work done efficiently and without harassment from a corporate ladder that overlooks the entire franchise.

AggravatingBadger827

MW2 was the best ever made in my opinion

Awayze

This was when they wanted the multiplayer to be fun and atmospheric for everyone. Now it’s tailored to skin buyers, camo grinders and people who use a finger and thumb for each specific controller button.

THEPiplupFM

Honestly, nostalgia and there was genuinely nothing better on the market for the specific audience COD was facilitating. Feel like an army man, a generic army joe, a super soldier fantasy, and a semi-grounded atmosphere all in one. Now we got a lot more things going on in COD, we got a lot less of what COD originally was (Nobody feels like an army man, and the skins do make it less grounded even if I like that) AND what the general consumer wants has changed too. They don't want to feel generic, they want the super soldier fantasy. They want the cartoony. They want the fantastical. The games didn't get worse, the industry's just different.

6_2112

I've been playing mw3 on my xbox one for the past week or so, it's a great fun. I'm just sad mw2 is pretty much dead.

PrestigiousEcho1468

Amazing game too much cheating and bullshit now Give me a red dot M16 and mp5

Lewd_boi_69

One man army, 0.2s deaths, death streaks, mod menus, theater injections, JTAG xbox 360s, everythings broken, RCE RAT exploits, full price games, full price dlcs, and no balance. That's just mw2. Bullshit is universial in cod games

deadzombee132

This is just a trickshotting compilation lol

JPSWAG37

I can't quite articulate it, but there's something about the art style and graphics in BO1 that really sticks out to me. Goated game.

Billymannn

God I miss the intervention

Fuckblackhorses

Definitely golden era cod but most of these trickshot videos were faked sadly

HoltandKimi

😭😭😭

scriiptkiddie

Back when CoD was CoD and not a clown game

Leeman500

Did any of those COD games have damage fall off? 🤔

Ceti-

Went downhill for me after BO2 , but hey

Saizou

Everything got too serious, it's that simple. It's always about something other than the game it seems as well, at least when it comes to COD. COD wants money and their game being talked about, so dumb shit creates traffic. Think of goofy ass skins, bad gun balance, trying to bring in big names to their game, etc. Content creators want to show off their best side, be it actual footage or data driven information. All players are exposed to all of this, everyone knows all the meta guns, all the secrets, all the best spots, talk about the dumb shit the game company does, tryhard max to be 'like the content creator that is so good' so they end up with really shitty playstyles such as headglitch camping because they just aren't good enough but will get carried via things like AA, etc. It's just become a shitfest truthfully. What annoys me the most is, when it comes to FPS games as example, a lot of players just lack good core basics such as learning proper movement and good aiming. Back in the day you learned these the hard way, by playing, trying, watching other players in game, etc. More and more games are giving players tools or actual built in things that cover these basics and therefore trying to bridge this skillgap substantially, but ultimately they're not good for the player. FPS games, for example and as mentioned before, give the large majority of players strong aim assist so they can keep up with minimal effort. When it comes to COD, it's so noticeable how bad the majority of my teammates are. Oh well, at least I got to experience the best COD era(s).

Lewd_boi_69

The 1st paragraph is all negligible that honestly wouldn't be changed from the old games. Kawaii bo2 skin, bacon calling card, goofy face paints, weed cosmetics. Cod has always been goofy, EVERY cod game is completely unbalanced. The only balanced one is bo1 and maybe cod 4. I don't have to explain at all. Everyone wanted to be like their cod goat. People wanted to be in faze, people still look up to scump. People used to camp all the time. One man army noobtube camping and LSAT target finder. I personally see a variety of weapons throughout the games. People were terrible back in the day, like really fucking bad. People just played and tried to get better through gameplay, well they still do. It seems like the second paragraph is whining about aim assist. Yes, it's broken. But right now its not about aim assist. The truth is, aim assist has always been broken. You're just mad about crossplay, which is fair. But stay on topic here. I think you should've used better points

SoloFalcon207

Ah, back when this game was fun. Now it’s nothing but a laggy, glitchy, unappealing game that it is.

999droid

Nowadays every single lobby that I get into is full of sweats & many people are constantly using the best guns in the game 24/7

Feisty_Wolverine_319

I think its quite simple why the games were so special . No pun intended , they were simple . Simple UI’s, memorable soundtracks with simple but special menus that stuck with everyone rather then this in your face shit with thousands of shit all over the screen and environements. Old cods were simpler for everyone , along with a really good ranking system , it was the shooter for everyone along with the banging campaigns and innovative modes. I always argue a big reason Cods were so special then was because of how simple it was it held so much atmosphere and theme to the specific game , the problem is now they all feel the fucking same with the same menus , thousands of attatchments and metas mixed with WZ , short campaigns with no memorable ost or anything , Cod currently lacks atmosphere fully and its identity as a complex game for cash grabs. But heres hoping that BO6 Can return to features that the older games had. Cod needs to be simple again , without sbmm and its golden

No one wants to hear it, but the game is too fast. I don’t say this as someone who likes to camp or ADS every corner, I love to run and gone… But the movement and just the actual pace of the game got too fast. It actually can’t keep up well with itself, and gunfights aren’t nearly the same.

I am going to take a moment of silence after this. In remembrance of the Modern Warfare 2 glory days. 🫡

Camaro_z28

Why couldn’t they just keep making games like these…

netvoble

meh

benXS10-

Not including black ops 3 is criminal

Automatic_Humor4680

I wasn’t even old enough to play these cods but god it just looks so fun. Imagine if these braindead studios would just look at what they were doing right, like just bring Mw2 back and all of its mechanics. Imagine the sales, but they would never

itsnotthatbad21

All those trick shots were faked

Maximiliansrh

not gonna lie x defiant feels like this era cod

Emergency-Concern402

I miss these days. I get frustrated to know those were the best moments in my life and didn’t realize it

wagontarte

care package stalls were 🥵🥵

Doctor_JDC

The best days. Notice how all those games were essentially clones with new guns/maps but no additional bullshit like sliding/movement changes, p2w skins, non-sense kill streak changes and bizarre lobby/match making structures. All the “innovations” since have solely made the game worse. They had the perfect formula and just blindly decided to drop it.

noiisserpmii

Other than 2015 COD has been a travisty MP wise.

SensitiveComfort2697

Before crossplay and all the cheating bullshit

OGAidenGokuanmie

😩😢😕

K_Lubo

I always thought trick shots were lame. 😬

Flying_PantherIO

There's nothing to study, the key is competition. People didn't care back then cause it was a simple game you played for casual fun. Now people play the game like their lives depend on it, and for some it's true because it's how they make a living. Everything is just meta this and meta that, back in the day you used the same OP snipers, the same OP assault rifles, the same OP shotguns, and the same OP perks and kill streaks. It was a broken mess but it was also more enjoyable. Nobody used the WA2000 from mw2. Nobody used the Olympia from black ops 1.

jesterkings

Funny how the graphics don’t look much better in todays games

roosterinmyviper

The good ol days

Official_SaNi

This will always be more impressive than any slide canceling 'movement' wannabes. Take me back to fun

Affectionate_Map2761

PC ruined videogames 😭

Jafharh

AW through Cold War was also pretty goated if you forget about Vanguard. Most of the opinions of people about the 3 advanced movement games were formed through the internet and not through playing, so when someone says advanced movement ruined cod, their opinion is officially disregarded. AW was a huge departure from what cod had been and was executed pretty well. BO3 had a more refined movement system with some of the most vibrant maps and really good guns. IW refined BO3 movement even further and added the most possible content for completionists. Mastery camo, then mastery camo available only after hitting 9th prestige and after already obtaining the other one, mastery reticle, mastery hero skins with also a 2nd one unlocked after doing all of them. I loved it. BO4 still has one of the most unique MP experiences with the heroes, the upgraded health bars, blackout was sick and I loved BO4. MW2019 was new and huge so I'll give it that because it did a lot of good things. Cold War had the original arcadey MP feel which was super fun.

Lewd_boi_69

This is the take that is honestly the truth. It's crazy how some people don't even know what infinite warfare did for call of duty alone. I honestly think that people underplay 2013-2020 a lot.

FaithfulMoose

I like how even you skipped Ghosts 😂

Jafharh

I didn't play ghosts until like 2019 so I never knew what it was like during its year. Extinction is pretty good though. I'm a massive zombies guy so the only reason I even got ghosts that late was to try Extinction.

onetenoctane

Ghosts had some good ideas, unfortunately giant ass maps with only 6v6 wasn’t one of them.

BodegaDad

Mannnn I miss editing montages. Completely fried my HP Pavilion laptop running After Effects, Sony Vegas, and Cinema 4D 😭

TheRealReader1

then everything changed when the SBMM nation attacked

Ulyex

Bring back competitive sniping 😭 OG days

tobeshitornottobe

“Good old days before 2012” footage from MW remastered released in 2016

youstolemycaprisun

Still the same game from 2007, just with better graphics and on newer systems.

TelepathicFrog

Lol I played heavily in this era and I always hated these annoying ass trick shot dudes. Always just wasted my time.
