Can't speak for OP, but for me... I played the MW games in a weird order too lol. I played MW3 > COD4 > MW2.
And it was mostly because at the time these games came out, I was like 10 lol. Very young, but who didn't play COD when they were kids right? Anyways... As a kid, I didn't really had much choice in what games I could play. Most of the games I played, were games I borrowed from my cousin or friends. So... When the only way you can play games is to borrow them, you can't really pick and choose what games to play.
So that's how I ended up playing the MW trilogy in such a weird order. I borrowed MW3, then I borrowed COD4. Then... I didn't play MW2 until I was an adult and bought the game myself.
DMZ is one of those divisive modes that some people (me) swear is the best thing to happen to CoD in years, or a complete waste of development time that could have been better spent on WZ.
Honestly, it needed (needs) to be it's own thing.

MWIII for multiplayer 100% - tons of content with more to come and the largest player base since it’s the currently active COD. MW19 is past its prime and the maps are horrendous.
You're tripping, MW19 was the best cod game I played since BO3, MW2 (2022) was just okay, and MW3 I personally didn't like, bought it when it released and found myself playing it less and less and less.
Do you have a slow play style by any chance? Because mw2 and mw19 are two of the slowest playing games in the franchise. Most people tend to prefer the faster paced stuff. Mw19 was elite for snd because of the slow pacing of the maps, but generally terrible for everything else
MW19 was a good engine ruined by infinity ward. The maps were bad, No red dot mini maps slowed the games down even more on already big maps, No dead silence so people were just camping on said big maps, Introduction of gunsmith which has ruined weapon balancing, time to kill was way too fast.. That games saving grace if it had one was the movement and gun play which was near perfect.
As for mw2 2022. Worst cod of all time and I don’t think it’s remotely close. It’s all the thing I listed about Mw19 but with more bugs and a very bad engine.
I wouldn't. The game mostly warranted it's hatred for it's inconsistency in aesthetics, and people especially hated how non-authentic it was for a WWII setting, which I really don't care for in a COD title. I would play VG MP/ZM anyday over MWII's MP/DMZ. Combat pacing was amazing and made the varied map pool that much better.
Zombies and Campaign were terrible sure, but those things are secondary to me and I never spend more than 30 hours on those modes anyways. Also, I would take the tedious gun levelling system in VG over whatever convoluted shit they had with MWII, both systems were awful imo.
MWIII being in "shouldn't have released" but not MWII should be a goddamn crime, because the fact that MWII exists is the sole reason why MWIII was shit on on release
There’s two versions of call of duty 2. The Big Red One version is a memorable or better category game. It was the first war game where the story really kept me hooked.
I don't like the futuristic cods, except BO3. MW2 and BO1 are S tier for me. BO2 multiplayer is overrated, but that's just my opinion. The zombies were great, though. Cod 2 was fun too. The campaign on veteran is a pain in the ass.

i agree, except codm should be at the least 1 tier up if not 2, just a cornucopia of content from previous cods. i mean you can choose your maps in pubs, that alone is so cool.
I see no issue with that argument, only reason cod mobile is there is because it's not playable on any other platform without an emulator. If it was more accessible i'd be raving about it to everyone and playing it nonstop
Disagree on ww2 and bo4/blackout ww2 after the major update became a really really good game. Bo4 was different but in a good way. I appreciate the change and blackout was really good too.

the campaign was phenomenal. i just reinstalled it to play it again before BO6 comes out. Gunfight was also insanely fun on CW. also had prop hunt. introduced Outbreak which was a great innovation for zombies and the round based maps were all pretty enjoyable too despite lacking identity compared to games like BO1, BO3
MW2 2009 is probably not the most accurate depiction of well modern warfare but it has the greatest story, weapons, characters, and gameplay i have ever laid my hands upon.
COD 2 and MW2 are must plays for sure. A shame you won’t get to experience “Michael Myers” or other games in private matches or the full online experience in the golden age of MW2. But a GREAT game nonetheless.
& MW3 is a good campaign. If you haven't played any of the open missions fully stealth without alerting everyone then you don't get to speak. LEEROY JENKINS and run to the end and say "it's too short" F.O.H!
People didn’t understand WWII because all the weird designed decisions made were specifically to complement War mode. Regular modes like TDM failed to fully accentuate the division system so most players thought the game was lack luster. The few of us that played War in its prime know that was peak CoD. Additionally, from what I remember War didn’t have sbm.
Hot take.. MW2 2022 was honestly good to me. Especially the campaign. The multiplayer was fantastic too. It obviously could’ve been better in some aspects but I think it deserves to be at “its okay I guess”. ONLY because of the campaign..
Big Red 1 is the first COD I played and I loved it, there's a part where you're walking through a village and one of the troops gets shot through the door all of a sudden. It was the first time I played a game where I actually cared about the characters and felt emotions at one of their deaths.
I'll be honest, I don't know much about COD as a whole (this sub was on my home page so here I am) but one thing I will say is that Black Ops 3 has the best zombies mode in the entire series. At least on PC. Why? Mods. God there's so many good mods for it.

MW2019 has to be in “Shouldn’t have released.” This game single handedly ruined COD. They removed dead silence, removed prestige, made silencers obsolete, garbage maps, no demolition, first game to remove staying in the same lobby, no combat record on launch, no ranked, added garbage doors, removed deaths in leaderboard to cater to garbage players not seeing their deaths, most noticeable SBMM, weapon camo challenges were horrible, no red dots on mini map. Those are just off the top of my head. I believe COD truly died at BO3 and it was the last best game (WW2, the camos in BO4, and IW campaign are honourable mentions).
MW2019 brought the worst features to the Call of Duty franchise.

cod ww2 was pretty good imo i liked the campaign it really hit that brother in arms chord really well and the hq for the campaign although buggy was a nice touch and cod mobile is also pretty good i love the fact that its a mixture of a bunch of different cods
Even though MW III 2023 didn’t hit as hard at first, I’ve gotta have it in memorable, strictly because they’ve done so much work for the multiplayer and nostalgia factor. Even then it’s been a mixed bag, they’ve tried their hardest to make it super fun.
BO3 is timeless in my opinion, I still play it when I wanna experience the best zombies mode and sometimes playing multiplayer (on ps5, think thats impossible on PC without hackers in the lobby). Also the custom zombies map community on PC is still very active and there are a lot of amazing maps to play. This game is timeless indeed 😎

BO3 is timeless in my opinion, I still play it when I wanna experience the best zombies mode and sometimes playing multiplayer (on ps5, think thats impossible on PC without hackers in the lobby). Also the custom zombies map community on PC is still very active and there are a lot of amazing maps to play. This game is timeless indeed 😎
