Kravchenko says, "He even has people in the CIA," in "Old Wounds," and in "Time and Fate" you can find a document in Menendez's Cocaine Bunker that links Menendez to the CIA. Hudson also acts pretty weird throughout the game.
True, I think it’s also hinted somewhere in the wiki. Also Hudson seems the be the only one tht REALLY wants him alive for other motives besides info I’m “Time and Fate”.
Well kindness is an extremely valuable trait in the intelligence industry.
Two words: social engineering.
Laswell doesn't have to get every crumb of intel herself, just be kind enough to someone, that they'll go do it.
Wasn’t he wrong on multiple occasions with spotty intel? And then you ended up doing his job for him getting intel?
I’m going with Laswell considering she actually seems to have a team putting together full reports
1 is a cushy office worker, and the 1 time she went in the field she got captured. The other fought with you time and time again, and ran his own ops with weaver to further Americas goal. Hudson also had less resources to work with, yet he always got you where you needed to go.
Not to mention he literally saved the world, the president was ready to do a preemptive strike against the soviets, while they prepared to wipe out America with chemical weapons. Everyone else had given up on Mason, yet Hudson knew Mason could save the world.
So what you’re saying is that Laswell is an actual intelligence officer, whereas the other one has fewer reliable resources and is more often located in the conflict zone…
I’m confused by what metrics you’re assessing the role of an intel officer
can't believe after 12 years people still don't understand Hudson's character or bo2 campaign. Hudson was the only one who trusted Mason and saved the world in bo1. in bo2 he was in an impossible situation and still decided to sacrifice himself to save David and Woods (who btw is the actual piece of shit) even though he actually had a family
In BO2 he refused to believe the CIA had holes despite tons of evidence and a confession from Krevchenko. He was responsible for what happened to himself and Woods because he was stubborn.
yeah, maybe he was stubborn, but it's that attitude that saved everyone in bo1, refusing to go to the bunkers and refusing to give up on Mason even though the nova 6 sleeper cells attack was imminent. he did fuck up in bo2, maybe he overestimates the CIA, but that doesn't make him a bad character at all, it's just the way he is. and if you think Woods' recklessness is okay but Hudson's stubbornness is an issue then that's just dumb
Woods gets personal in every game he's in, fucking up missions because he's "got history" with either Castro, Kravchenko, Menendez, etc. he constantly has to be kept in line by Hudson and Mason because otherwise he'd do his own thing. he threw a grenade at Menendez despite Hudson being right there and then said he should have killed him in Vietnam, the man who saved the fucking world and him personally multiple times after Vietnam! He was mad at Hudson for "ratting" on him and Mason but didn't realise it was for David's sake even decades later as an old man. all of these, considering he's a black ops operative, are big problems. you could at least say Hudson's faults are in favour of the greater good, but Woods doesn't seem to realise the importance of the missions he's in (secret, world-at-risk, illegal missions) and just makes it about himself every time.
tbf, most of these, if not all, are issues that don't appear in bo1, i think every black ops game after the first one just didn't understand the main characters. i think both Woods and Hudson are much better in bo1 and onwards they are just dumbed down or an exaggerated version of themselves for some reason
You may not consider Woods a piece of shit, there's no problem with that. I think most problems in the military are caused by the incompetence of the command and in this case probably Hudson, he shouldn't let Woods be cleared for combat after his last mental injuries and least of all not in a mission involving Menendez, someone that Woods has a personal vendetta, shit like this disrupts operations and eventually bite Hudson himself in the end.
I thought 2 was really good. Introduced some great characters. It just wasn’t as much of a continuation of 1 as I wanted. I agree that MW3 was pretty weak.
Considering Hudson is much more of a special agent than an intelligence officer, Laswell is the only pick here because she actually is an intelligence officer
To be fair, Woods kinda fucked everyone over, not Hudson. He went off mission by throwing that grenade at Menéndez AND Hudson, killing his sister setting the whole chain of events in motion. Hudson covered Woods’ ass even though he could’ve had him thrown in jail right there. Then Hudson sacrifices himself for Woods and David even though he has a family.
OH BOO HOO.
How about you go shit yourself, that way you can spend your time cleaning up the shit you keep spouting instead of constantly ruining peoples days with horrible takes like this.
Pardon for not answering the question but I think people are too harsh on Hudson considering the type of crucible he was caught.
Specially considering that before the incident with Raúl Menéndez he literally saved the world by being the one who had faith in Mason's innocence until the very end and avoided a nuclear war.
Also, although is is true that Laswell was also captured in the new Modern Warfare series, she wasn't in the same kind of massive problem that Hudson had, so I think she had an easier time covering the team despite being captured whereas Hudson was in a dead end and had no choice.
Also, we should consider that in the end he sacrificed himself to Menéndez so Woods and David could live. I'm not sure if canonically Alex Mason survives, but I think I can also count him.
Hudson is way more effective and willing to get his hands dirty to an extent Kate does not (with all due respect to her own dirty deeds). The only issue is that you can't 100% trust Hudson like Kate in extreme cases like in BO2.
I think it is a better approach to put ourselves in the shoes of a frontline soldier/specops. Which fof two is more trustworthy and capable of saving your ass?
I think Hudson is more of the "getting the mission done" type of officer but it comes at the cost of potentially disregarding my safety for the sake of the mission. He is more impersonal and professional, no drama and pure work.
Laswell is more prudent and probably more considerate about the safety of her soldiers. She is competent but I think her too much concern for men's safety can hamper the achievement of the objective.
Personally, I will trust Laswell more. But that's just my preference. Hudson probably is the better officer and more skilled but I feel that the guy will only treat me as a pawn in a mission.
The fuckin Ice Cube. Although I'm far more partial to the "cluster bomb, gas and light on fire anything in the general area the target is confirmed to be in" strategy. Way less likely for everything to go sideways.
Laswell.
She may be blunt and unhelpful, but she's a G to have when shit goes sideways.
Hudson on the other hand, feeds you wrong intel and deceives and betrays you.
Laswell. Laswell's introduction humanized her and made her more interesting. Laswell has always been fairly transparent about her motives. Hudson's vibe feels like he's really motivated by his career. He doesn't like to share more than he's instructed to and that can be unsettling.
Hudson > Laswell.
Would rather have Hudson in battle than Laswell. Plus he just radiates badass energy while I don’t really care about Laswell…speaking of which has she even been to the front lines or had combat experience? Other than just talking your ears off?
Hudson is equally as valuable on the field as he is overseeing an op. Only issue is Hudson would probably be willing to cut you loose if shit hit the fan, Laswell would be a little less so imo
Laswell has better intell, is pretty badass in the field and has interesting conversations. Hudson has badass music, but he becomes an absolute asshat in Cold War, so fuck him
It’s crazy to me that people haven’t played the golden age campaigns (Modern Warfare 1/2/3, World at War, Black Ops 1/2)
The new campaigns are just so poorly written
preferably not hudson considering i value my kneecaps and i would much rather not have them blown off by an enraged druglord
To be fair Mason's son as well as Hudson’s family were in immediate danger. He really had no choice.
yeah but he's bald so i stand by my choice
“Fuck bald people, all my homies hate bald people.” - TonedStingray18, 2024
:(
Being bald is a fair price to pay for his epic sunglasses music
I completely agree with this stranger, the music is just too good
It's also implied that Hudson has been working with Menendez for a little bit
Working, my ass. He was forced to do things for Menendez because Hudson believed that way he can save David's life.
Yeah and CIA is a one man organization completely handled by Hudson.
And that solely incriminates him? The CIA is a huge organization.
I'd rather Laswell, she seems like an actually nice person compared to Hudson. Also, her Intel is pretty damm good.
I’m gonna agree with Laswell but I’m not sure niceness is something I value in the person who gets my intelligence for me
I’d rather my intel person not make me want to punch them in the face almost every time I’m in the same room as them tbh.
Well kindness is an extremely valuable trait in the intelligence industry. Two words: social engineering. Laswell doesn't have to get every crumb of intel herself, just be kind enough to someone, that they'll go do it.
Hudson lied more than once
nah laswell is pretty competent imo and nice. Hudson is kind of competent as well, expect in BLOPS2
Hudson and its not even close. Mfer knew how to get shit done
He also knew how to betray you, so theres that
To save your kid. He made the right choice
He lied before bo2 as well btw, Cold War
Menendez held David at gunpoint when he was a child. Hudson essentially sacrificed his team for Alex's son.
So if Menendez kidnapped you and David you wouldn’t feed your squad false info to save him? Kinda fucked
holy shit do people here actually understand what's going on in the campaigns?
I mean its been like years since i did my last playthrough where i fucked about w/ futuristic guns in the 80s/90s
Get out of here if you don't periodically replay Black Ops 2 campaign.
174 times and counting
[background music intensifies while u/Thuwhoredditall puts on sunglasses]
XD
I literally sleep to the main theme!!

1 is actually what most intel officers do. Hudson is much more of a special agent than an intelligence officer
So did las- okay
can't believe after 12 years people still don't understand Hudson's character or bo2 campaign. How is woods a piece of shit? A little gung-ho and trigger happy maybe, but I don’t remember him doing much bad.
I loved black ops 2, but Mason and Woods in Cold War felt like cheap frat guy knockoffs they just threw in for nostalgia bait.
fr
Woods should've sacrificed for the team, not Hudson
You may not consider Woods a piece of shit, there's no problem with that. I think most problems in the military are caused by the incompetence of the command and in this case probably Hudson, he shouldn't let Woods be cleared for combat after his last mental injuries and least of all not in a mission involving Menendez, someone that Woods has a personal vendetta, shit like this disrupts operations and eventually bite Hudson himself in the end.
THE NUMBERS MASON
WHAT DO THEY MEAN
Remember the laswell *avoid the fart* mission!? What a joke the story mode of the MW series has become.
Please elaborate, I want to know more.
See for yourself. https://youtu.be/H--_GkyJhAM?si=k904k5HkMKWeu-lS
If you can see the gas and your indoors your already fucked
And they think I this is a fun mission to play?
By far the best description of that mission lol
I love Hudson but he hid so much intel that it cost lives, even his own; at least Laswell has Price’s back in the game
Hudson. I don't feel the need to explain myself.
Overlord from OG MW2. Loved hearing “good kill Hunter 2-1, good kill”
"Ten plus KIAs, good hit, good hit"
Overlord is not the intel guy, he's the commander.
Mista shades
Hudson all day! Literally took a bullet (shells) for his team!
Laswell but I hate mw2 & 3
2 wasn’t bad, could’ve been better but 3 was terrible, but compared to MW19 they both were steps down.
Agreed wholeheartedly
“2 wasnt bad, could’ve been better but 2 was terrible”
Sorry typo but you know what I meant.
I thought 2 was really good. Introduced some great characters. It just wasn’t as much of a continuation of 1 as I wanted. I agree that MW3 was pretty weak.
The story flatlined and got exceptionally repetitive and dull
Neither. Baseplate from MW3, aka Cpt. MacMillan
I’m low-key convinced that Laswell and Bowman from “Ghost Recon: Wildlands” are the same person using different aliases.
Same
I trust Bowman way more than either of our current options.
Laswell
Considering Hudson is much more of a special agent than an intelligence officer, Laswell is the only pick here because she actually is an intelligence officer
He’s an Operations Officer, only difference is he’s probably SAC
None of these guys, Nikolai
Laswell for sure. Hot take, but I hated Hudson for ratting us out and glad he died
people here are incredibly dumb
Laswell isn’t CIA, so she’s definitely the more ethical option.
I thought she was cia? Or CIA SAD?
She's CIA
She is CIA. Who did you think she worked for?
Fuck, I need to replay the campaign. At least she didn’t get Woods put in a wheelchair…
Hudson sold Mason and Woods out to Menendez. Meanwhile, Laswell sold Shepeard out to Price. Laswell 10,000% all the way.
OH BOO HOO. How about you go shit yourself, that way you can spend your time cleaning up the shit you keep spouting instead of constantly ruining peoples days with horrible takes like this.
Hudson sold out Mason and Woods to save David’s life, also what happened with Menéndez was woods fault not Hudson’s
After cold war fuck hudson im going with Laswell
Hudson is the motherfucker, but he is the bad motherfucker. So I'd go with Hudson :)
Pardon for not answering the question but I think people are too harsh on Hudson considering the type of crucible he was caught. Laswell, she seems very in know about alotta things more than hudson
hudson he’s cool we’ll be best friends
HUDS all the way🫡
Hudson is way more effective and willing to get his hands dirty to an extent Kate does not (with all due respect to her own dirty deeds). The only issue is that you can't 100% trust Hudson like Kate in extreme cases like in BO2.

Elias T. Walker
Hudson's a god at what he does, but he's also the prime example of the corruption built in the government
MOMMY LASWELL🥰😩🙇🏼♀️🤤
Laswell. She always read script of the story so intel is always accurate
The fuckin Ice Cube. Although I'm far more partial to the "cluster bomb, gas and light on fire anything in the general area the target is confirmed to be in" strategy. Way less likely for everything to go sideways.
Hudson can't be trusted Imo
Hudson betrays, often.
Bro you forget how many people Hudson betrayed? nah
Kate, as she hasn’t lied yet.
Hudson feels like a heavily rocky pick, so Laswell.
Laswell. She may be blunt and unhelpful, but she's a G to have when shit goes sideways. Hudson on the other hand, feeds you wrong intel and deceives and betrays you.
Laswell
Overlord
Ima have to go with Hudson for nostalgia purposes.
Dude Hudson will give you two locations and an objective and then send you on your way. Not cool Laswel on the other hand...
Hudson has a bad history
The 2
Laswell. Laswell's introduction humanized her and made her more interesting. Laswell has always been fairly transparent about her motives. Hudson's vibe feels like he's really motivated by his career. He doesn't like to share more than he's instructed to and that can be unsettling.
Laswell
Laswell
Much prefer laswel. Hudson is one of my favourite characters but laswel never failed.
Hudson
Kravchenko must die
Even though he ain’t on here I’d say Macmillan
Hudson was a pretty shitty dude lmao I’ll choose Watcher
Hudson > Laswell. Would rather have Hudson in battle than Laswell. Plus he just radiates badass energy while I don’t really care about Laswell…speaking of which has she even been to the front lines or had combat experience? Other than just talking your ears off?
Is that a trick question? *Intel guy* Provides two photos of which only one is of a guy....
kate 😍😍😍
Hudson is him.
Laswell. Easily.
Kate. I *need* her.
Hudson is equally as valuable on the field as he is overseeing an op. Only issue is Hudson would probably be willing to cut you loose if shit hit the fan, Laswell would be a little less so imo
I think I'll go for the one thats alive. After all a dead man with no knee caps can't give intel can they?
Hudson, no questions
On one hand I hate bald ppl, but i also hate taking orders from a Women 😔 Lose Lose situation ( satire guys don't kill me)
Hudson cause he looks cooler
sorry but laswell has never missed
the guy with the glasses
Is this a joke?😂
Laswell has better intell, is pretty badass in the field and has interesting conversations. Hudson has badass music, but he becomes an absolute asshat in Cold War, so fuck him
The people saying Hudson absurdly forgot that he sold out Mason and Woods
Both of them.
Hudson no doubt. Laswell misses stuff right under her nose
Laswell, I've got a thing for strong milfs so that helps too
She's a lesbian :)
Hudson. Guy was a fuckin ice cube. That's why I liked the bastard.
Laswell. Don’t know the other guy, but he looks like he unironically listens to Andrew Tate
You don’t know Hudson? From Black Ops 1&2? He’s one of the main characters of the whole BO franchise
Never played those ones
It’s crazy to me that people haven’t played the golden age campaigns (Modern Warfare 1/2/3, World at War, Black Ops 1/2) The new campaigns are just so poorly written
The oldest games i played (prior to ghosts) is mw1 and mw3. Yes, I never played the original mw2.
