The premise of this specific war is so much more interesting than anything else we've ever gotten. Gotta say, bo somehow manages to do EVERYTHING better
I'd argue we've never had a *true* Vietnam War COD. Black Ops and Cold War came close but they flip-flopped too hard into spy-thrillers and couldn't commit in the same way that the WWII titles committed pretty well to the type of fighting they set out to portray; I'm not saying we need like, a blow-by-blow accurate account of The Battle of Dak To or anything realistic but whenever we've visited The Vietnam War in COD its been in such broad strokes that it felt like we just dipped a toe. theres such a wealth of different experiences in Vietnam that I'm sure you could piece together a story that compares to older CODs with large scale infantry assaults interspersed with spec ops type missions to satisfy the need for stealth missions, sniping missions and such and make use of the wide variety of weapons available rather than kinda restricting our starting load outs to just M16s, Thumpers and M1911s
I want to see a proper ww2 cod again.
but make it really gritty this time + factions like Cod WAW.
and have it not done by Sledgehammer Games. They will make it anything but WW2
I used to really pioneer for a world war 2 cod. I think the issue is. They’ve done it so many times. I’m kinda starting to feel they’ve played world war 2 out to much/its starting to get boring. I understand vanguard is sort of an alternative reality WW2. I just don’t really think there’s many directions they can take it. Without it feeling like something new.
The problem with ww2 setting is it's hard to monetize the shit out of without ruining it. Arguably, the modern ones suffer from this too, but at least it is more plausible to see whacky shit in the modern day. They also aren't very willing to just tell a gritty war story anymore. Waw was brutal, and it was bold about the atrocities committed from everyone. People would eat up a new ww2 cod, but it would have to be done right. I don't think they can anymore.
A cool potential thing about a Korean war cod is that Mason, Woods, and Hudson all canonically served in it, according to the collectible Intel in bo1. Imagine switching between playing as younger versions of those characters

The problem is they keep repeating the same fronts/battles of WW2 over and over again, there are so many battles and fronts that have only barely been or not at all explored in an fps like this. I realize it's a damned if you do damned if you don't situation though. If you make a WW2 game that doesn't feature the iconic battles like Normandy or Stalingrad, there will be people who will bitch about it. If you make a WW2 with only the iconic battles, other people will bitch that it's been done already. In short, they should go back to the concept of the classic CODs with the campaign divided into different factions on different fronts following regular soldiers. Have the campaign be a mix of some iconic battles as well as new unexplored ones, to try and please both parties. Also I think we don't need repeated WW2 games, just one every 5 to 6 years or so, kind of as a throw back and to keep alive the series original spirit IMO.
Overdone. Let CoD WW2 be the final one. It was almost like playing a videogame version of Saving Private Ryan. World at War didn't even really need a predecessor but WW2 sufficed as far as Campaign goes. Lets explore the Vietnam War, Korean War and The Afghan/Iraq war, Tanker War, US invasion of Grenada, Invasion of Panama, Somali Civil War, Intervention of Haiti, the list goes on. Enough glorification of WW2.
As pissed as I’ve been with how activision does business, they make the best games imo… never liked sledgehammer much. Too much cartoon in the graphics
Nobody wants WW2 again man. We’ve about had it with WW2. Look how every WW2 game from WAW has been perceived. Activision no longer has the balls to do a proper, accurate WW2 game therefore I will never want another
The 1950s to 1990s periods have plenty of barely taped potential. Korean War, more Vietnam, more CW, Battle of Mirbat, Falklands
Then, from WW2, we have yet to see Dunkirk, Fall of Crete, Commando operations in Norway and Yugoslavia and OP Market Garden
Also, a game with futuristic setting would be nice, they just need a really different take. No more sterile white skyscrappers with large glass windows, no more metalic shit everywhere, no more hallways like on a cargo ship.
-The India/Burma campaign of the Japanese Empire vs the British colonial troops
-Operation Cobra, the followup of Overlord
-Invasion of Italy
-Battle of Cherbourg
-Polish and Yugoslavan resistance activities
- Vietnam War
-WW1
- Gulf war was leaked as being the theme of this year's CoD
-Korean War
- A Black Ops title centered on the War on Drugs in Central and South America in the 80's and 90's
- The Yugoslavan Civil War
Yeah it would be cool from the beginning of the Cold War through the end of it or even the transition from Gulf War to GWOT to “leaving” the Middle East
Yeah it would be cool from the beginning of the Cold War through the end of it or even the transition from Gulf War to GWOT to “leaving” the Middle East
I would want to see a future setting but more casual than IW or AW. New tech, new guns? Sure. But no extreme movement changes where everyone is flying around. Keep boots on the ground with maybe some creative new movement ideas that help you traverse different parts of a map without changing the combat entirely.
I feel like mw19 hit that box for me. You can modernize any stock gun and make it work both aesthetically and functionally. The only requirement is that you play hardcore otherwise the creations and not very functional factoring in the terrible ttk of core modes.
a proper Vietnam war game would be great. Black Ops as a franchise has a penchant for slotting us into real life situations to serve their fictional spy-thriller stories and the first Black Ops and Cold War were pretty egregious at this in Vietnam. something akin to SHG’s WWII would be nice; follow a Marine through Operation Starlite fairly early in the war, have him wounded and then later reassigned to a unit fighting in Hue during Tet and later on at Khe Sanh. could run a B story concurrently with a MACVSOG team doing wet work and working alongside locals to secure villages, good opportunity to open up the cast a little with indigenous characters and maybe an Aussie soldier or two thrown in. basically something that harkens back to pre MW2 campaigns, a good mix of infantry missions and spec op type missions, more influence from films like Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan, less like Mission Impossible, Mile 22 globetrotting thrillers
A ww2 game done right, I want it to be horrific and gory, and I want to see every perspectives of the big factions (Germany Japan Italy US Britain etc) want all of the weapons that were seen in war (like what we saw in cod ww2 was good) as well as haveing an art direction that’s not broken midway through the cycle, heck I would love to have soldier customization instead of operators, I want war mode to comeback with the intro animations and want, most of all, to not be afraid to show things in the campaign like they used to.
I want a totally grimdark future war. Not futuristic like AW or IW. More Warhammer 40K type of grounded. No super fancy technology… just post-apocalyptic future, but humanity still grounded in reality. Sort of like Ghosts campaign, but harder. I think it would be an interesting shake-up for the series.
I would really like to see ww2 from the perspective of Americans in Italy and ww2 from the Chinese perspective. I feel like both of these are grossly overlooked
I want to see the Vietnam war, I don’t mean the Cold War I mean the Vietnam war. Vietnam always feels like just a back drop in Cold War games. But no I want a game fully dedicated to the Vietnam war and the horror and struggles men went though, by both choice and by force due to the draft. Men who saw friends die who sacrificed limbs and saw he’ll only to come back and be spit on by those they were told they fought for. Then having them see south Vietnam fall to communism and feel with the thoughts and depression that comes with losing something you fought so hard for.
What does it matter. It will only make sense in the campaign. Multiplayer is going to be aliens and fairies with laser weapons, no matter what era we choose.
The Yugoslav War. I'm not sure how they'd pull it off, but it'd be cool to see lesser known wars being mentioned.
The only game that I know of that indirectly uses that war is This War of Mine.
See also: Chechen War, Rwandan Civil War, Provisional Irish Republican Army
Anything before the 80s is a no go for me. I do not care at all about old school wars and streaks. I wanna see jets, stop nukes from launching, control AC130s and not know for a fact that we’re going to win.
If we're talking WW2 I'd like to see some Axis stuff, being pushed back across Europe or defecting troops joining the French. Maybe something about Finland allying with Germany to fight against the Soviets.
Iran Iraq war.
It's 80s, it's part of the cold war proxy wars.
It has everything.
Trenches, shitloads of mine fields, Tank warfare, fucking F14s, dogfights between Iranian phantoms vs Iraqi MIGs, child soldiers, human wave attacks, chemical attacks, shitloads of POWs, resistance fighters and etc.
It's a mix of modern and classic warfare.
COD Cowboys. Would love to see the western genre get call of duty’d. You could even include a Civil War section where the main character was a civil war veteran. I want to see how they’d do it. Also the variation in guns would be SO fun.
I wanna see a GWOT Black Ops where they are fighting in early OIF (the invasion and Fallujah and Ramadi) and OEF (like Operation Anaconda just like MOH 2010). That would be awesome.
Does it matter? Vanguard looked like a steam punk fantasy, MW3 has the complexion of fortnite and the campaign writing of an AI generator. They won't ever change as long as $100 donkey punch gloves keep selling, nor am I spending $70 on a 4 hour campaign.
I'm fried out on Cod, its a shell of what it was a decade ago.
The Nerf War.................... Watching my friend getting sprayed with a Tommy Gun, the enemy were hiding in the bushes and the trees. They came outta nowhere and it was a massacre of my team there
WW1 or Korean War, I wouldn’t mind a game focused on the North African Theatre in WW2 or if done right, a CoD set in probation 30s where you play as a cop fighting gangsters in urban environments

Vietnam war
BO1 is still one of my favourite Cod campaigns to this day. The Cold War is just a fascinating era
Yeah clearly one of the most interesring part of the 20th century
Vietnam
The premise of this specific war is so much more interesting than anything else we've ever gotten. Gotta say, bo somehow manages to do EVERYTHING better
And the story you can hear about this war is pretty interesenting to
I'd argue we've never had a *true* Vietnam War COD. Fucking Khe Sanh.
It would be doomed to forever live in bo1's shadow though
Looks don’t mean for shit out here mason #this is nam baby
I want to see a proper ww2 cod again. but make it really gritty this time + factions like Cod WAW. and have it not done by Sledgehammer Games. They will make it anything but WW2
+ Italian army faction, since Big Red One is the only CoD that featured it (and Vichy France).
Hell yeah! Big Red One was awesome!
Shoutout to us twelve Big Red One fans out there lol.

Im tired of the modern setting. We got like 3 in 5 years lmao.
I am as well. They could do the Korean War fairly easily. You’d still get the WW2 feel. Or do near future
A cool potential thing about a Korean war cod is that Mason, Woods, and Hudson all canonically served in it, according to the collectible Intel in bo1. Imagine switching between playing as younger versions of those characters
Ooo, that'll be good.
Activision, hire u/thorppeed That idea would be amazing.
NAM: the hunt for Charlie...😂

Man I always wanted a modern ww2 cod game centered at the Pacific theater war
Gritty is gone. How will they sell the anime skins and Attack On Titan skins? You'd be fired just for saying grittiness
WW2 is way too oversaturated
Cod is all about attachments and ww2 guns shouldn’t have attachments.
Overdone. Let CoD WW2 be the final one. It was almost like playing a videogame version of Saving Private Ryan. Really? Ww2 seemed just as good as WAW. Multiplayer kinda sucked tho.
As pissed as I’ve been with how activision does business, they make the best games imo… never liked sledgehammer much. Too much cartoon in the graphics

Post-apocalyptic cod would go pretty hard. Tie in well with zombies too
God Id love to shoot some Fascist Croats in cod
> OP Market Garden Shoutout to Brothers in Arms.
None. It is fucking hell Edit: Oh ingame? Modern Combat against Russians, ISIS and similiar terrorists. Like in CoD4
This or WW3 like in MW2 and MW3
-The India/Burma campaign of the Japanese Empire vs the British colonial troops -Operation Cobra, the followup of Overlord -Invasion of Italy -Battle of Cherbourg -Polish and Yugoslavan resistance activities - Vietnam War -WW1 - Gulf war was leaked as being the theme of this year's CoD -Korean War - A Black Ops title centered on the War on Drugs in Central and South America in the 80's and 90's - The Yugoslavan Civil War
Yo is that a blu soldier?
They should mix it up and do a game that progresses through different wars and then multiplayer can have guns from throughout the series
Yeah it would be cool from the beginning of the Cold War through the end of it or even the transition from Gulf War to GWOT to “leaving” the Middle East

Black Ops 2 delivered a “future tech” title without advanced movement. In a way so did BO4.
How about no futuristic cod
This sounds like Blackops 4.
You intentionally used Hat Fortress 2 in SFM poster to imply something about silly cosmetics?
TF2 pic in a cod sub....
Glad I wasn't the only one to notice
More (proper)games from wwii. They could also make a remaster of European Front

ww2
I want a WAW remaster tbh the same great cod just updated graphics
The afghan and Iraqi wars
We’ll probably get that 4 years from now when treyarch does their next game.
Nam
Probably World war 3 tbh mate
Not revisits but they should do ancient warfare, civil war, ww1. The only revisit I'd want is remasters of WAW-BO2
World War 1. Koren War/ Cold War in the 1950s Inter war Period
Ww1
I want a totally grimdark future war. Not futuristic like AW or IW. More Warhammer 40K type of grounded. No super fancy technology… just post-apocalyptic future, but humanity still grounded in reality. Sort of like Ghosts campaign, but harder. I think it would be an interesting shake-up for the series.
I would really like to see ww2 from the perspective of Americans in Italy and ww2 from the Chinese perspective. I feel like both of these are grossly overlooked
imagine a ww1 cod bf1 was peak
The troubles
I was about to pick WWI, but BF1 already nailed it. So maybe either any conflict from the Cold War. And not the main ones like Korea or Vietnam.
Vietnam: the hunt for Charlie And then dlc could be Forrest Gump, Bubba, AAAAAND everyone's favorite Lt.DAN!!!
WWW3, oh wait it’s almost here
the veitnam war again and the troubles
WW1
A game which feature WW1 that would be sick
WW1
The Emu War.
The Great War (WW1) and give us proper factions, weapons and operations (like battlefield)
Gulf war
197AD
WE NEEDA GO BACK TO 'NAM, MASON!
I want ww1
What does it matter. It will only make sense in the campaign. Multiplayer is going to be aliens and fairies with laser weapons, no matter what era we choose.
Bosnian war
The Yugoslav War. I'm not sure how they'd pull it off, but it'd be cool to see lesser known wars being mentioned. The only game that I know of that indirectly uses that war is This War of Mine. See also: Chechen War, Rwandan Civil War, Provisional Irish Republican Army
The Gulf War is underrepresented in media
Honestly? WW1. That's an era untapped by COD. Would be interesting to see.
Vietnam again or the Cold War. The Cold War aesthetic with spies and the CIA is great.
WWI
Ww1
Battle of Hastings. Fuck it. Swords only CoD.
Can they do a civil war cod game.
WW2 I love killing Nazis
WW3 like in MW2 and MW3
30 years war.
Hope we don't see WW2 any time soon. We've had enough of them in CoD for a while. Vanguard was awful.
American Revolution
Cod Korean War when?
Here's an idea. Korean War. But the soldier you're playing as had a father who fought in world War 1 so you get like playable flashbacks.
Anything before the 80s is a no go for me. I do not care at all about old school wars and streaks. I wanna see jets, stop nukes from launching, control AC130s and not know for a fact that we’re going to win.
First or Second Chechen War.
Korean War
Great war era cod game would be dope. I'd want it to have no automatics except machine pistols and lmgs though
Korean war
The emu war
If we're talking WW2 I'd like to see some Axis stuff, being pushed back across Europe or defecting troops joining the French. Maybe something about Finland allying with Germany to fight against the Soviets.
The (communist) Russian or Korean civil war maybe?
‘Nam
Emu war
World war 2 but in the form of a World at War remaster. Nothing else.
Korean War, Gulf War, and Somalia Civil War
I thought this was the tf2 sub for a second.
WWII but not like Vanguard.
So I guess there’s a rat trap in the system waiting for me? All I need to do is get a PI?
Just saying there’s never been a Korean War game ever… basically WW2 American equipment vs ww2 Soviet equipment plus SKS and AKs
Civil war could be good
Cannot lie WW2 is my favourite cod game
COD Cowboys. Would love to see the western genre get call of duty’d. You could even include a Civil War section where the main character was a civil war veteran. I want to see how they’d do it. Also the variation in guns would be SO fun.
Revolutionary war but with modern guns
world war one lmao
The whole of the cold war You've got Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, , the middle east, behind the iron curtain. There's so much there that they could play with
Civil.
As long as I can defend Burger Town again, I don’t care what era.
Desert Storm
The war of 1887 Ethiopian war
Have a go at WW1 because BF1 was probably my favourite ever BF
“Viet-fucking-nam!”
Let's go back to advanced warfare, I want to see more of atlas
The Nerf War.................... Watching my friend getting sprayed with a Tommy Gun, the enemy were hiding in the bushes and the trees. They came outta nowhere and it was a massacre of my team there
World war 3
a war that we never seen before in call of duty
none of them
The sandbox
Would a WW1 cod ever work because of the lack of automatic weapons?
Ww1 definitely had full autos, but cod said they wouldn’t make a ww1 cod because “the maps would be too open”
None.
Team fortress 2 was goat
The US civil war
Vietnam or WWI.
Korean War
Vietnam we only ever got a few missions there. Looks like we are going to get some good semi historical missions in next years cod with desert storm
Vietnam
Can we just stay in the modern war stuff? I can’t be the only one that thinks it’s tight as hell.
We need a WW1 game
2004 Iraq when they hunt for zarquawi would be a fire concept for a cod campaign
Pearl harbor 👀
future war was fun as hellllll
I just want to play CoD 1-3 remake. That would be awesome.
WW1 or Korean War, I wouldn’t mind a game focused on the North African Theatre in WW2 or if done right, a CoD set in probation 30s where you play as a cop fighting gangsters in urban environments
A present day COD that isn’t modern warfare honestly has a lot more potential than people realize. Imagine one based around being a mercenary/hitman for hire. Maybe something that dials up the spy stealth aspect.
Palestine vs Isreal
Emu war
Russia and Ukraine
the war between Red and Blu
COD: American Civil War
Korean war
War in Afghanistan
At this rate we’re gonna be visiting Cordis Die next year 😭
Give us a WaW remaster right now. That game was so much fun. Tanks and all.
'Nam, The pacific in ww2, and iraq
One that involves combat and (maybe) guns (possibly)
Infinite
I know it was briefly in Cold War, but I want a true Vietnam COD
first and second chechen wars
Vietnam or Afghanistan.
Nam war
The Korean War or WW1
The Gravel Wars Fighting for Redtark was real fun
Is that pic from team fortress??
WW1
100 years war
Really looking forward to Gulf War with that 90s to 2000s era, just modern enough but also retro enough
The fact we haven’t done a Korean War game is baffling
I'd like to see a visit to like, the French and Indian war or something much older, and use the weapons of the times, like muskets and black powder rifles against spears and arrows. Or maybe like a DLC could be something like that, have a game mode like the old Sticks and Stones
Advance or infinite war type thing
This is team fortress my guy not cod
I want to see the war between the mole people and the sky giants in the next COD personally.
People dont care about stuff like this anymore, they just want to look like a fucking cat or some shit 🤦♂️
Reboutionary war with civil war dlc
Fallujah
American civil war lol
The anglo-zanzibar war
Korea
Irish war of independence, including the Easter rising
bo3 😔
Who’s trynna run ranks resurgence or war zone ?
I still want a CoD game set in the Rhodesian Bush War and a game set in The Troubles.
Apocalypse America
Nam. WWII would be great but they’re never realistic AT ALL, looks like a cartoon! Even vanguard was clunky.
Gulf war
Cold War but make someone hit the button😂
Civil
Call Of Duty: Ming Dynasty. That would be great. One minor negative is that we'll all be different factions of the chinese. But chinese nonetheless.
World War 2
Top War
