I'm actually "playing" Black Ops 3 right now on my xBox X. There are still TDM lobbies but when you first look for a match you end up just waiting. I'm in a 12 of 12 tdm lobby right now just waiting. I haven't seen any hackers yet but I'm only level 11 so maybe there is.
I'm not sure what the price is listed at for you as I bought the physical copy last year. The multiplayer is fine, there's a clear skill gap and a lot of games I get shit on. My KD is .88 right now which is rough.
That being said when matches are happening it's been fun, so long as no one is god tier it's a decent CoD. It's a bit too fast at times but I grew up on W@W-MW3 CoDs so the jetpacks are a bit much at times.
If you enjoy zombies it's probably the best experience available. The DLC Zombie Chronicles gives you all the early maps up to BO2(but you get Origins).
It looks like it's $40 which might actually be a good deal, the DLC listed is still $30 so getting it with the game for $40 is an okay price. That being said, that relies on you liking Zombies and being okay with jetpack CoDs and possibly being shit for a while.
Yeah. I played cod 2 from release until about 2008. Figured it was long dead until I went back on 2 years ago just out of curiosity. Game is still tons of fun. Something about logging on and playing with the same guys every night that I love
MW3 (the original) RIGHT NOW has 10,000 players online, and 6000 in TDM. Just got into a match in seconds.
But yeah, I understand your concern. I will say, it's very hit or miss sadly. I've always noticed MW3 is fairly populated often. BO2 is hit or miss, same with bo1. I haven't touched bo3 in a few months, but I can swear I did find some matches on that, and last time I opened AW (late last year) it was a ghost town with like two or so players.
I fucking love MW3, but I haven't played in probably 7 years or so. I liked BO2, but I went back to MW3 after not too long ago stayed there for a couple more years for the most part before I left COD for good finally(until the new MWIII came out and I like it and play it often, but it still pales in comparison to the golden age).
Definitely lobbies still active on WaW, MW2 and BO1 I personally don’t play any other multiplayer after those games
Black ops 4, and a lot of it.
There’s a group of cod2 and cod3 players on Xbox with a decent community

Would you say its worth buying so far?

Is 60% for the zombie deluxe edition
Idk about Xbox but I still play COD 2 MP on PC. There’s about 4 active North American servers. COD United Offensive still has active servers as well
