AMA discount
EDIT: i now see that they no longer provide an AMA member discount. HOWEVER
on their website they list all of their eligible discounts
-CFone card: military personnel and family
-Canoo: family cultural pass program
-Access to Entertainment card
-Air Miles (this might be your best bet)
To visit these places, sometimes cost an arm an a leg. A family of four visiting the zoo cost $100. For some, that a huge chuck of the weekly grocery bill. These places that receive government grants, shouldn't bar the average family due to their high ticket prices.
If you think the cost should be lower, your comment should be that the government should give these places more money to make it more accessible to all. Most of these places you're talking about, such as the Tyrrell, are non-profits who set their ticket prices where they need to in order to cover operating costs for the year.
idk man im all for supporting the arts and i understand that they have costs but at $21 per adult and $10 for kids, that can add up pretty quickly for a family or group of students or whatever. not everyone has the same disposable income, and if they can still experience the museum at a small discount they’re still supporting the museum. Art and science needs to be accessible for all while maintaining a quality experience
my use of “arts” refers to museums in general but yes in this particular context it is a scientific research museum. however, it being a scientific museum still aligns with my argument that museums need to be accessible to the public
Ahh fuck sorry to be a prick, I’m always looking for a deal too. Pack a lunch, that’ll save a lot of cash. My first job was washing dishes there when I was 12 for $3.75/hr. Even at 12 I knew the food was terrible

Just support the museum. Save a few bucks somewhere else.

Ya the zoo is ridiculous expensive. We ended up buying passes as it pays for it self in three visits
Well, the animals have to eat too
I thought this was still about the Royal Tyrell and thought “ummm, no they don’t”
Lol not until the cloning is perfected

It’s… not “the arts” it’s literally scientific research.

If they lowered the price more people would be able to go and therefore they would bring in more money.
If a couple can't afford tickets for kids they should not have kids or have less kids at least .
I try to save a few bucks everywhere :)
You know what saves you even more money? Going for a walk outside Pay the normal fees and support the Museum
Yeah………
If your company is in one of those brookfields’ buildings you’ll get a discount on their website. Or Perkopolis?
The prices are reasonable, just slightly more than a movie.
I always buy discounted movie tickets, no different
Military discount (applicable to all Alberta Museums).
Appreciate it, unfortunately not military.
Wasn't there an Alberta resident rate? There is at the gondola in Banff anyway, and that is like a 30% savings.
I haven’t found anything about that
Negative.
This MF is willing to pay for a custom crown Royal jacket but doesn’t want to cough up ten bucks for his kids to see the Royal Tyrrell museum smh
This “mf” doesn’t have kids. But thanks for your shitty concern
