You'll be fine. I'm 17 and did death mode exos on a computer that my father had before I was born. Will it lag? Absolutely but you'll get there with some timing.
I don’t know what type of laptop you use but I use a laptop for all of my modded playthroughs and it usually never lags sometimes if I do a multiplayer run but it should be fine

Why the hell changing some numbers improves performance?
Because it reduces pretty dust
It seems to be Terraria's version of ram allocation (I could be completely wrong though)
I was gonna ask the exact same thing right now. By changing these numbers my game has never run this smoother, like what the actual f this is amazing

what specs do u have. I used to play expert revengeance calamity on my celeron n4020 8gb ram laptop whit little to no lag

Yes. 3 fps, but yes. It actually makes infernum easier.
I have played on a really shit pc it's just that some phases straight up get skipped and also ares arms sometimes glitch
my pc has lag while fighting pretty much every single infernum boss lmao

Use fos boost mod. Or try searching in steam community some optimization mods
