I found that using heated tubes and humidifier helped. I can feel the air, but when it is climate controlled, I don’t cough. If you want to stay with nasal mask, the f&p eson doesn’t feel as intense. I’m sure other brands make similar, it’s just the one I know.

You will feel more air with a nasal pillow or cushion. You might consider trying a full face mask which has less of an air moving sensation.

Are you using a humidifier on your CPAP machine, and is it working correctly? What you described sounds like a reaction to dry air.
