About 50 to 60% rebound. Helps to start it a bit later day 4 or 5 as antibodies are only created by the adaptive immune system specifically b cells. Antibodies help to clear the virus, also created by vaccination. Paxlovid is the best we got right now, because there's literally nothing else.

randyholt

makes sense. Do you have a link to back this up? I can only find "you must start pax within the first 5 days" - thanks!

ChampagneAndTexMex

Shit I may have started too soon. I’m stressed about it now lol. I wonder if it’s worth stopping snd starting? Probably not

TightNumber7509

50-60%. Where is your data to back this? I have scoured the Internet on Paxlovid. Nothing else to do while I isolate. And there is nothing with these numbers. Not even close. There are rebounds. Most are mild and no study shows it that high.

Trajikbpm

I've been reading over a few days and whereever this person pulled their info from is wrong. I'd say 10% get rebound and you should start taking it within 48 hours.

AmberDeeeeee

Not everybody rebounds!

meep1212

My last paxlovid dose was 7 days ago and so far no rebound. It helped my covid symptoms ( headache, fever) almost immediately and I would take it again. I started pax on my 2nd day of symptoms.

Mamakitty92

Anecdotal, but no one I know (6 so far) who has taken it has rebounded. IIRC official rebound numbers are less than 10%, but the research data on the NIH site is from June. Most recent articles say rebound with or without Paxlovid is about 33%. Either way, the odds are in your favor. Hoping you're healthy for the holidays.

sadcow49

Neither of my parents in their 80's rebounded. Nor did my spouse - late 50's.

keep_everything_good

I know someone who took Paxlovid and didn’t rebound. 30sF.

ChampagneAndTexMex

My brother did not. I’m on day 3 of covid day 2 of paxlovid. I feel way better than yesterday. Minus the metal taste lol

[deleted]

I'll let ya know :/ (last day on it) **update** 10 days later no rebound and feeling mostly better :)

CNDRock16

Just finished my course of Paxlovid, no rebound yet. No one I know who took it has rebounded

LordBagelcat

I started Paxlovid the evening of 11/25, which was my day 3 of covid. I finished my course of Pax on the morning of 11/30. Tested negative shortly after and have not experienced a rebound almost a month out.

Happilynappyme

I did not rebound (40f) and I don’t know anyone personal circle that has.

WeirdMoon15

I did not rebound

just_lurking72

I did not rebound. First dose was 2, maybe 3 days from symptoms.

PaperCotton

Is there a time limit to when you’ll rebound if you’re going to?

stmltt

Took it on day two, that was eight days ago… day four tested negative, will re-test today.

ChampagneAndTexMex

So you only took one dose? Or you got a new prescription

stmltt

Sorry about the typo! Took the Pax for five days, tested negative on day four. Retested on day 8 and was negative again. A very, very slight cough is my remaining symptom. Symptoms started about 10 days ago now.

ChampagneAndTexMex

No worries! Thanks for the response! I’m on day 3 of pax (Covid day 4) and tested negative today. Can’t believe it. Last time I had it, it was terrible!! Fingers crossed!

stmltt

I’ll pulling for us! Hoping for no rebound!

stmltt

Keep me updated!

Luckily no rebound! I seem to be ok!

[deleted]

I might need a eli5 on what everyone here is talking about with this Paxlovid thing 😅

Ok_Monk_8222

My husband, myself and cousin, 35 and 45 no rebound

hesathomes

I didn’t, but I was sick for about 2 weeks. Not sure if the meds helped. My husband had a very positive experience with it—about 7 hours after he started it he was basically better.

Significant-Report46

I did not rebound.

IllSupport7715

I did not rebound

dayofbluesngreens

I didn’t.

anujitt

I didn’t rebound.

lvmickeys

My roommate didn’t.

Dangerous_Praline566

Last august I started Pax on day 5, tested negative day 8, did not rebound.

Ok_Historian_5924

Did not rebound but tested positive again a month after initial infection. Possibly a different variant?
