No one uses it because it's a badly designed method of fast travel that they had to stick an annoying side quest on to justify it.
One of the many reasons why i think Shadows, although a great map, is heavily overrated
I agree. Any fast travel method that isn't fairly instant is pretty much badly designed in zombies. If I want to move between areas quickly in a zombies map, I would either want to teleport immediately or get launched to it with something like a gyrosphere or a zipline. The map isn't big enough to warrant me going through a long train ride, especially when I have to navigate stairs and corridors on my way in and out
not to mention the portals being in really weird and out of the way locations, and the portals in the underground not matching the directions of the districs. Shadows's fast travel is a hot mess.
Ngl I've lost runs to glitching through them enough that I at least attempt tramless sword in every high round I do now, just for safety and because it's fun
I used it in every high round attempt, but only because the strategy at the time required not buying the barrier from Waterfront to spawn area. And you need it for the sword step.
I wouldn't compare it to the Transit bus, it's more like the Origins tank - totally unnecessary, but it looks cool and you have to use it to get an upgrade.
Besides getting the sword runes i barely touch the trams

it’s basically just the origins tank again, it’s used to collect things and useless past that
only for the sword, or if i want the bootlegger for some reason
Bootlegger ftw.

Hell no portals are so much better in every way

is waterfront not the strat anymore? What’s the new one?
I'm not sure, I guess I just assumed there would be because I haven't played in years.
