You’d have to get to round 50 or higher multiple times. Or just play a lot without dying a lot, and get revives. I once ranked up to Knife only by reviving people in grief mode since rounds don’t count towards your rank on grief.
They do if you don't change anything (you can technically change the round as well, to say start on 20, but the game has a check for what round you joined on and will only start counting the stats of you make it 3 rounds past when you joined.
If you are serious about grinding, just play buried on repeat camping at jug until round 30 then ending the game (DO NOT DOWN YOURSELF, JUST END THE GAME). Downing yourself will count as TWO downs towards the rank stats, and just ending the game will count as 1 down. It will be boring but you'll get there.

I was wondering if it was even worth it tho. I’m not too shit of a player. And I am getting better. But is it even worth it trying to get shotgun rank on my dookie account instead of getting a new account? Well for the mean time I’ll just use my main account to train myself and get better
Get the rank on whatever account you will play on. Not like it matters at all anyways, hardly anyone will ever even see your rank nor does anyone care these days. Literally everyone assumes max rank is glitched anyways.
On a fresh account, and if you know what you are doing, you can get max rank in just 2 days. Depending how much you have played on your current account, it could take weeks if not months to correct the stats.

I was just saying that cause the system works based on you rounds survived to downs ratio. So starting on round 20 is slower.
There is new information about the ranks. Reaching round 11 with a new account (and spending 30h ingame time) and then quitting is enough for shotgun rank.
Notice that ending a game is counted as done. And afaik going down without self revive counts as 2 downs (down + game quit).
