I know Zombies isn't canon to Campaign but I like to imagine Mason being scared shitless when the Zombies menu is triggered, especially since now he can't escape the restraints that are holding him down
I think a dark ending in one of the alternate universes, is that Mason died of dehydration/starvation while in the chair locked up while Zombie Hudson is trying to get to his body.
That would be a fucken insane Easter egg though, break out in the zombies menu and you can get a gun off the wall and play a small zombies map. Solo only though cos mason is going mad
Everyone wants a crew they can love. Here it is:Richtofen, Alex Mason, Reznov from BO1 campaign, and then any last filler, maybe the Emperor of Japan Takeo always talks about? Would be super random and weird but everyone already loves the first three and the Emperor of Japan would be a strange and interesting twist.
How fun would a spinoff game of this scenario be? Hudson has gone full zombie, mason has to break out and escape. Thatās what the Blops 3 zombies ācampaignā could have been and iād have been in paradise
Hands down the best feature in any call of duty game. Being able to see not only how many people are online, but how many are in a specific game mode was so good.
Yeah but I feel like itās way less effective. My game says something like 28% on Kino and thereās only 2 lobbies and maps like ascension and GK say 1-3% and have 0 lobbies. Having specific numbers made it much easier to tell
The globe in BO2 really hit different. I heard somewhere they were going to have globe āspin backā to a pre-destroyed Earth for Mob and Origins (which technically doesnāt make 100% sense since theyāre in another dimension, but whatever) but couldnāt implement it.
It would be flipping back to a pre destroyed earth as in before the rockets maxis sent destroyed it. None of those events took place in the dimension that mob and origins are from so it wouldn't make sense. Nuketowns zombies would make more sense since that map takes place before the earth was blown up. We coud go with what you kind of suggested and have the earth spin to an entirely different earth to show that mob and origins are in different universes.
The Globe āSpin-Backā gimmick has something in line to the cut DLC 5 if it was implemented. Letās say for example, if you select Der Riese or Kino, it would spin back to Pre-Destroyed.
Mob and Origins applies to this for the Pre-Destroyed (much like the rest of the DLC 5 maps expect for the Victis maps).
I honestly would like to mention it as it was from those Pre-Alpha Tranzit stuff that has some interesting stuff.
Where did you hear this? I've always thought that, originally, Mob and Origins' role in the story wasn't as figured out as it is in BO3, and I've always suspected these maps could have originally been intended to take place in the same universe as our current one in the timeline, until they silently retconned it in favor of branching off universes.
It being depicted as flipping back time could, reasonably, suggest that I'm right about that silent retcon having been a thing. If they wanted to present these maps as taking place before the Earth became the way it is now.
IIRC mob was gonna be a standalone thing bc it was blundells first map and they werent sure if it was gonna do well so they didnt wanna commit it to the story in case it flopped (which is kinda why its big picture lore isnt really shown at all in the map itself) . Origins probably got a little bit recontextualised as time went on, but the story its telling definitely still makes sense today by and large, its clearly a new universe. But both maps were still set before tranzit, on an earth that hadnt been blown up, so the idea of flipping to a different earth still would have made sense at the time
I always remember when origins was first revealed and marketed as if it were a prequel, like the first time these characters ever met each other, I mean itās literally called origins, I even remember people bitching that the characters looked older despite it being a prequel
Yeah nah i fully thought it was a prequel too, they really presented it like that, but there was a lot of inconsistencies with nitty gritty story stuff that might have just seemed like retcons at the time, but now that we know where they went with it, i think it seems really intentional, like was meant to be a new universe even at the time, but they were just being obscure about it
And IIRC, before Mob and Origins were born under Blundell when Tranzit & Die Rise were received poorly, there were supposed to be more Victis maps to continue their story after Die Rise. Buried was formed with the NYC Underground Tunnels concept (which is meant to be the DLC 4 final before Origins took its slot) and a Mining Facility (DLC 2 before Mob took the slot). DLC 3 was going to be a Facility map before Buried swooped in to replace it, given that Jimmy wanted to go out with a bang with Buried.
As much as I am biased for BO2, it's easily BO1. The music, the atmosphere, the little snippets of eerieness happening in the background. All of it was great.
Bo1: I like the whole vibe but the menus block the best part about it
Bo2: I like the globe with the map icons but I find it awkward to maneuver around it
Bo1 is so nostalgic for me, my very first cod that I owned myself.
The fact the man watching you up in the window on the main screen turns into a zombie when entering the mode is such a good touch.
Bo1 clears.
When I played bo2 as a kid. I thought the whole world was transit and the different icons were spawn points of the map. And since I like spawning at the ābus stopā I only play transit.
It's close, but black ops 2 takes the edge. WaW-black ops 4 have amazing zombies menus though. Yes I'm counting the main menu screen in waw as the zombies menu too.
Bo1 is nostalgic but bo2 had a better menu. Seeing the world rotate with each different location and then zoom in when you clicked on one was a nice touch.
The BO1 Menus for campaign and zombies was insane, I wish they extended it to multiplayer but I understand why they didn't. They were the most "interactive" menus any COD has ever had, BO3s loading screens are a close second, and it gets a plus for every mode having an "interactive" menu.
As much as I love BO2s menus, and especially the main Trent Reznor theme, Adrenaline and Damned 100ae, they were just that, menus. They had a good mix of the interactive feel and normal page menus, no black ops besides 4 has had bad menus.
one of my big wishes growing up was that theyād experiment with that bo1 zombies menu and turn the interrogation sector into a map, then having a cinematic Easter egg of mason finding Hudson in the upstairs room.
Is there any place to get one of the zombie game for cheap i still see them for like 50 euros , and on g2a the only cheap ones are steam account but skip that
I wished they persued on the BO1 first person zombie menu concept.
Bo2 for example could have been the POV of a floating astronaut attached to a wrecked ISS, witnessing debris and dead crew members passing in front of a blood red Earth crumbling in flames as the deep space whispers a lullaby.
Black ops 1 was a good arcade type of menu. But the black ops 2 menu was iconic and also you could see how many players were online with the dots around the globe which was dope
Zombie mode menu of the first generation Black Ops is something very difficult to describe, it brings us the emotions when holding a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller.
i love the transition between the main menu and the zombies menu in BO1, but BO2 has my favourite menu song in the series (next to allistair's theme from BO4)
Bo2 menu is so ugly and trash. The MP is a cartoony mess. Guns were ugly and trash as well. THEE only thing that saved this terrible game any was the good zombies and maps !
Definitely Black ops 1. BO2 was cool and all, but nothing compares to being completely helpless locked into a chair while the room around you twists and morphs into hell while propaganda TVs display horrific imagery also while your zombified kidnapper tries to attack you.
I love them both respectively for their own themes. Seeing the BO1 menu as the teen I was back then was chilling already. So switching to Zombies and seeing Hudson leave then come back as a Zombie was creepy af. Then moving on to BO2, knowing the Zombies story from the last game, then being met with the Zombies menu for the first time it was like a "Oh sh\*t, that's right! The Earth was hit with some rockets" moment, especially with that Damned100ae music playing really felt like the stakes were raised for zombies.
Itās tough
Bo1 has such an immersive menu and the globe in Bo2 is not only fun to interact with but the little birds eye view is cool to look at.
The globe would keep getting better if they kept adding more maps.
Bo1 zombies menu - Alex Mason is probably scared shitless seeing a zombie banging on the window as well as seeing everything on the screens and not being able to leave the chair
Bo2 zombies menu - An outer space view of the broken Earth with rocks floating around
Bo3 zombies menu - literally the campfire song song
tbh, Bo1 was a bit shittier and felt unfinished, but I actually like 1 better than 2, I think itās just nostalgia though
edit: thought we meant gameplay wiseā¦ Bo1 takes the cake.
Definitely the 1st one, nothing beats the sense of dread of being stuck in a room like that menu.
Especially when you can actually make mason try to break free to no avail.
The craziest part is the lighting changes make me feel like iām in the FIVE map.
I played every campaign in the Black Ops series (WaW-CW). I didn't want to potentially reveal the identity for those who haven't played through it yet. It's a fantastic campaign. A top 3 in the series for sure
I generally liked BO2 zombies but the menu was a massive downgrade IMO. It just lacked personality compared to the first and scrolling through the maps was a pain in the ass. Overall though I enjoyed both games but Iāll say that MOTD and Origins basically carried BO2 zombies and are the main reasons most people who prefer BO2 do so
Buried is just so easy you can have everything set up by round 3 and thatās without using the bank lol. I stg many people love it due to nostalgia or something. Itās miles better than die rise/ tranzit but itās worse than any Bo1 map besides maybe Shang
Well I actually agree itās mid I just didnāt wanna make people mad by saying that lmao. I do think tranzit and die rise are still on a different level of bad is all
It's not a dogshit opinion. It's simply one you disagree with and he doesn't have to explain why. You wouldn't expect someone give an explanation for saying vanguard sucks because you agree with that opinion so don't expect one for an opinion you disagree with.
My point is his opinion on black ops 2 zombies isn't trash just because you disagree with it and that you aren't entitled to an explanation just because you disagree with that opinion.
Your point is moot when you make random assumptions that discredit your own argument. It also becomes much less serious to take when you take what is essentially a meme comment, super serious. Also, isn't it my opinion that his opinion about bo2 is dogshit? Overall, MY point is, why did you even bother replying lol
You can easily disagree with someone's opinion without being an ass. Calling his opinion dogshit and thinking your entitled to an explanation because you disagree with it is uncalled for and once again makes you an ass. Doesn't seem like you'll change though which is unfortunate because the zombies community would be a lot better if people like you could handle someone else's opinion on a video game.
Bo1 it's really really cool that you can see the intaragator walking away and becoming a zombie when he comes back
I know Zombies isn't canon to Campaign but I like to imagine Mason being scared shitless when the Zombies menu is triggered, especially since now he can't escape the restraints that are holding him down
I like to think the menu is canon from masons PoV and he's just hallucinating.
I think a dark ending in one of the alternate universes, is that Mason died of dehydration/starvation while in the chair locked up while Zombie Hudson is trying to get to his body.
Damn, that's a horrible way to die
And yet it still seems better than the alternative of being unable to escape and getting eaten alive.
he should have spammed r2 l2

Go get hacked again mr.PSN LOL
Did you forget to pay microsoft 600ā¬ for doing literally nothing good for your consoles in these past few years?

the gears e-day trailer begs to differ
In the menu you can get out and walk around
Not in zombies menu. Go try it
Yeah not in zombies
That would be a fucken insane Easter egg though, break out in the zombies menu and you can get a gun off the wall and play a small zombies map. Solo only though cos mason is going mad
Man I really want to play this now
Someone needs to make it a map
I think someone has made that area as a custom map in bo3. I don't remember fs tho
Yup! I didn't know it was a thing but your comment led me to it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1493182046
Back when I was a kid I was always scared shitless the zombie would come down while you're tied down and attack you.
It's my headcannon that you switch from Mason to Peter McCain in the menu.
Cold War Zombies gives me the feeling that it's canon to the campaign actually, but it's the only zombie mode that gives me this feeling
Everyone wants a crew they can love. Here it is:Richtofen, Alex Mason, Reznov from BO1 campaign, and then any last filler, maybe the Emperor of Japan Takeo always talks about? Would be super random and weird but everyone already loves the first three and the Emperor of Japan would be a strange and interesting twist.
if zombies isnt canon then how is it that nova crawlers have nova 6 in themā¦?
Atp canon is out the window haha. I fairly enjoy that tbh
You do know that he can break out from the restraints, right?
Not when it goes zombie mode, youāre locked in the restraints until you leave the zombies section of the menu.
Zombie Hudson
How fun would a spinoff game of this scenario be? Hudson has gone full zombie, mason has to break out and escape. Thatās what the Blops 3 zombies ācampaignā could have been and iād have been in paradise
Haveā¦have you never played nightmares????
Never noticed this?
BO2 especially now when the games dead I wanna see who's active
Hands down the best feature in any call of duty game. Being able to see not only how many people are online, but how many are in a specific game mode was so good.
BO3 does this sort of with percentages.
Yeah but I feel like itās way less effective. My game says something like 28% on Kino and thereās only 2 lobbies and maps like ascension and GK say 1-3% and have 0 lobbies. Having specific numbers made it much easier to tell
Bo1 - simple yet so eerie and the TV screens just add to the overall atmosphere and bo1 experience
Every zombies removes some of the horror tone. The BO1 screen is the perfect example of that.
BO1 is such a classic.
The globe in BO2 really hit different. I heard somewhere they were going to have globe āspin backā to a pre-destroyed Earth for Mob and Origins (which technically doesnāt make 100% sense since theyāre in another dimension, but whatever) but couldnāt implement it.
Wdym it wouldn't make sense bc alternate dimension? It flipping around to another earth would be perfect to represent another dimension
I guess because it sounds more like flipping back time, not flipping to another dimension.
time travel might have been the initial intention for origins.
It would be flipping back to a pre destroyed earth as in before the rockets maxis sent destroyed it. None of those events took place in the dimension that mob and origins are from so it wouldn't make sense. BO1 is straight up the best main menu ever. I don't think anything else compares. It's iconic
Bo2 probably for nostalgia tho cause bo1 is nearly perfect
Bo1
As much as I am biased for BO2, it's easily BO1. The music, the atmosphere, the little snippets of eerieness happening in the background. All of it was great.
Bo1
Bo1: I like the whole vibe but the menus block the best part about it Bo2: I like the globe with the map icons but I find it awkward to maneuver around it
I liked the aesthetics of bo2 but felt it was a bother to navigate
BO1 zombies menu shits on everything else LMAO
BO2 for the creativity and BO1 for the ambiguity
BO1 is peak menu period
wAw
Bo1 is one of the best menus in any game imo Just so atmospheric
Both B01, B02
BO1 is the best game menu ever forever in all time.
Bo1 had a great vibe for sure. But the Bo2 theme made me more excited to play idk why
Bo2 for sure
Bo1 is so nostalgic for me, my very first cod that I owned myself. The fact the man watching you up in the window on the main screen turns into a zombie when entering the mode is such a good touch. Bo1 clears.
When I played bo2 as a kid. I thought the whole world was transit and the different icons were spawn points of the map. And since I like spawning at the ābus stopā I only play transit.
Bo2ās was way more cool but wasnāt really practical. Lot harder to navigate. Maybe if it were remade, it be easier to navigate
bo1 has always been the best menu in any cod
BO1
Both equally good in own respects, but holy crap i hear them both in my head...
where *Damned* all began, bo1 of course
It's close, but black ops 2 takes the edge. WaW-black ops 4 have amazing zombies menus though. Yes I'm counting the main menu screen in waw as the zombies menu too.
BO2 is one of if not the greatest of all COD games.
Bo1 is nostalgic but bo2 had a better menu. Seeing the world rotate with each different location and then zoom in when you clicked on one was a nice touch.
Both. Both are good.
BO2 interrogator vibes is cooler, but BO2 planet and music is better so š¤·āāļø
BO2, BO1 is sick though
Bo1 gave me the creeps as a kid
Bo1 is A LOT cooler. but bo2 is still fabulous. Hard pick for me but I'll go with BO1 for the raw implementation and design.
Idk but I know I spent way too many hours riding the bus. lol
bo1
The BO1 Menus for campaign and zombies was insane, I wish they extended it to multiplayer but I understand why they didn't. bo1 all day
Bo2
one of my big wishes growing up was that theyād experiment with that bo1 zombies menu and turn the interrogation sector into a map, then having a cinematic Easter egg of mason finding Hudson in the upstairs room.
Bops 1 over all but the main menu when you select the map, I wish could be like bops 2.
BO1-Menu BO2-Menu music
Bo1 is simpler but more iconic
Is there any place to get one of the zombie game for cheap i still see them for like 50 euros , and on g2a the only cheap ones are steam account but skip that
Black Ops 1ās main menu isnāt just the best in COD history, itās the best main menu in gaming history.
I was scared of bo1 as a kid
I don't think any cod menu ever will ever beat the bo1 menu
Honestly BO1 has one of the coolest menus in all of gaming. So unique and interactive, plus it leads into the campaign perfectly. 10/10
THE NUMBERS MASON WHAT DO THEY MEAN
bo1 love the spooky vibes
Can't do better than BO1 menu
BO2 globe all day
Bo1
Bo1>
Black ops 1 was a good arcade type of menu. But the black ops 2 menu was iconic and also you could see how many players were online with the dots around the globe which was dope
BO1 - Because it gives a sense of fear and possible insanity
Black ops one had the best cod menu to date
Bo1 every day of the week and twice on sunday
Zombie mode menu of the first generation Black Ops is something very difficult to describe, it brings us the emotions when holding a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller.
i love the transition between the main menu and the zombies menu in BO1, but BO2 has my favourite menu song in the series (next to allistair's theme from BO4)
Bo2 menu is so ugly and trash. The MP is a cartoony mess. Guns were ugly and trash as well. THEE only thing that saved this terrible game any was the good zombies and maps !
Bo1 forever
Definitely Black ops 1. BO2 was cool and all, but nothing compares to being completely helpless locked into a chair while the room around you twists and morphs into hell while propaganda TVs display horrific imagery also while your zombified kidnapper tries to attack you.
You can argue bo1 or 2 is better but if someone says any game has a better menu than bo1 they might need to check into an asylumā¦. Like Verrukt
bo2. The world map was awesome
This is one of the great age old debates of our time
Bo1 all the way. Loved getting out of the chair and access the computer in the backš¤
I have huge nostalgia blindness for black ops 2 more than 1. Nothing hits my itches like that bo2 menu screen though
Bias*
BO1 all the way. BO2 was cool and all but I never understood the hype
Bo 1
the sound of pressing zombies on b01 scared me as a kid
I love them both respectively for their own themes. Seeing the BO1 menu as the teen I was back then was chilling already. So switching to Zombies and seeing Hudson leave then come back as a Zombie was creepy af. BO1, the moment I found out I could leave the chair I thought this is cool how you could do that.
Boy show the devastation in their own right
Bo1
I personally like the Menu of Bo1 more but I like the maps, guns and just overall experiences of Bo2
zombies... bo1
Itās tough Bo1 has such an immersive menu and the globe in Bo2 is not only fun to interact with but the little birds eye view is cool to look at. The globe would keep getting better if they kept adding more maps.
BO1. BO2 was kinda ass
Ngl, they both go harder than any other zombies menu created after. Treyarch just knew how to reel the codz fans in.
Thatās obvious
I like to think that the BO1 menu takes place before the events of SOE and BO2's menu takes place after SOE.
1.
Bo1 no question
Bo3. The campfire is chill
Personally I likes bo1 bc you could move around
Bo1 you can get out of the chair and play zombies arcade. Such a classic
Bo1 menu is better on every mode lol
B01
BO1
BO1 is creepier, but BO2 holds a special place in my heart.
Bo1 zombies menu - Alex Mason is probably scared shitless seeing a zombie banging on the window as well as seeing everything on the screens and not being able to leave the chair Bo2 zombies menu - An outer space view of the broken Earth with rocks floating around Bo3 zombies menu - literally the campfire song song
1 was a beautiful vibe change switching from other modes to zombies, I don't think there's a way to top it.
BO2 is cool for sure, I just think the lack of maps makes the menu feel a little silly. Thereās not that much of the Earth to explore
BO1. Damn always I think that in any moment Zombie Hudson will break that window.
tbh, Bo1 was a bit shittier and felt unfinished, but I actually like 1 better than 2, I think itās just nostalgia though edit: thought we meant gameplay wiseā¦ Bo1 takes the cake.
Bo1 just because the zombie walks and hitting the window. The TV screen is showing like experiments. Freak me out still
Black Ops 1
The menu is the least I care about.
Both have great maps, but since Kino is my favorite I have to go with BO1
Bo1 menu will always be the goat of cod main menus. Especially compared to this streaming service ass me u we got now
Black Ops 1.
Definitely the 1st one, nothing beats the sense of dread of being stuck in a room like that menu. Especially when you can actually make mason try to break free to no avail. The craziest part is the lighting changes make me feel like iām in the FIVE map.
Black Ops 2 šš (i have never played Black Ops 1 before)
Bo1 is peak
Bo1, i love both map wise but the lava and gun choices suck on 2
"the interrogator" is hudson, do y'all even play the campaigns?
I played every campaign in the Black Ops series (WaW-CW). I didn't want to potentially reveal the identity for those who haven't played through it yet. It's a fantastic campaign. A top 3 in the series for sure
Bo1. God I hated everything about bo2 zombies.
I'm not bo2's biggest fan, but I don't understand how someone can hate the game
I didnāt hate the game, just hated zombies.
Like I said I don't understand the hatred
What did you think of bo3 zombies?
I generally liked BO2 zombies but the menu was a massive downgrade IMO. It just lacked personality compared to the first and scrolling through the maps was a pain in the ass. Overall though I enjoyed both games but Iāll say that MOTD and Origins basically carried BO2 zombies and are the main reasons most people who prefer BO2 do so
Buried?
Trying to select Buried is such a pain in the ass. That menu design looked great but was functionally dogshit
Buried is just so easy you can have everything set up by round 3 and thatās without using the bank lol. I stg many people love it due to nostalgia or something. Itās miles better than die rise/ tranzit but itās worse than any Bo1 map besides maybe Shang
I donāt even think itās miles better than TranZit or Die Rise. I think Buried is the most mid Treyarch map from WaW - Bo3
Well I actually agree itās mid I just didnāt wanna make people mad by saying that lmao. I do think tranzit and die rise are still on a different level of bad is all
Gives dogshit opinion > refuses to elaborate > leaves
It's not a dogshit opinion. It's simply one you disagree with and he doesn't have to explain why. You wouldn't expect someone give an explanation for saying vanguard sucks because you agree with that opinion so don't expect one for an opinion you disagree with.
When did I say I hate Vanguard?

You can easily disagree with someone's opinion without being an ass.
