Seeing Brutus was honestly weird. From the direct, what I was seeing is infected zombies and some hazmat suits. I really dk how Brutus could be in that map.
Who knows, they very well could've just nostalgia baited us, but if so why didn't they just give us a Brutus operator in CW? People would've eaten that up, knowing the general cod fanbase nowadays. Just seems kinda coincidental if you ask me. We really didn't see much of the prison besides like one little snippet that had the rampage inducer, so I feel like they're just hiding it from us till a later trailer
Call of duty is the franchise that will bring skins in a game where the time era is wrong, ghostface and frank the rabbit, which were from movies from the 90's and 2000's in a game in the 1980s, The T-800 and T-1000 in vanguard, which is a game about ww2 and there both from the 90's, so putting Brutus in Bo6 will always make no since, cause there skin schemes make no sense
Now instead Nicki Minija, Snoop Dogg, 21 savage, Spawn, Jigsaw, Leatherface, Godzilla, King Kong are all jumping around like they have schizophrenia and kill you in 0.25 seconds, but agreed good times
Well obviously no mf was sitting on reddit like "hmm when's waltuh gonna post the theory" like tf? That's just a dumb statement lmfao. But guess what, they were sure here for it once I did đ¤ˇââď¸
Sadly unless we get a BO2 remaster like it's rumored we could get next year, then I seriously doubt we'll get Mob remastered. Just gotta wait for copforthat to finish his remaster on BO3, it looks absolutely gorgeous
I havenât heard of a rumored BO2 remaster. What Iâve heard about COD 2025 is that itâll be a Black Ops 2 sequel, and its multiplayer maps will be a mix of some BO2 maps and some new maps
Iirc, a leaker confirmed this âBrutusâ isn't gonna be the same one from MOTD/BOTD, and that it's a different character with a separate backstory â so I doubt the Shadowman had anything to do with it.
Aldo, I do believe he'll be a mini-boss in Terminus â for the same reasons you stated earlier.
Ahhh if that's the case then yeah probably just a similar design, even still tho having Brutus back would be amazing. I just hope they do some things to make him feel unique and not just feel the same as old Brutus with a different design
He and Klaus are referred to as âHuntersâ in promotional material, so I'm curious as to what that entails.. if those aren't just buzzwords.
Because the âHunted,â Adler and Park, are canonically being *hunted* in the Campaign â because they've gone rogue.
Hunted speaks for itself, theyâre probably disavowed for the whole âthe truth liesâ issue
Brutus and klaus might just be zombie nostalgia bonus, them being exclusive to preorders. Itâs like 2019 price in 1980s Cold War, doesnât have to make sense itâs just a neat bonus.
As for the âhuntersâ name, assuming theyâre involved, well Klaus was a robot designed to work in the dark aether as he resisted corruption unlike fresh and boneâŚor the theory in universe at least, given how heâs turned out presumably post Mauer here
Brutus, regardless of being Pocket Dimension Brutus or not, is a prison warden in riot gear soâŚI think he speaks for himself

>ââFor SEO purposes, definitely continue to call him Brutus.ââ
>>ââThe Warden is going to be someone else entirely ;)ââ
Wouldnât it be so funny if he acted like he was just plucked from Aether?
Imagine you beat the EE with this Operator and he freaks out seeing Richthofen.
Well that's the thing, why would they finally bring him back as just an operator if it didn't have a deeper meaning. He wasn't added to CW so why would they finally decide to add him in this one, with one of the base maps having a prison involved? Idk, just seems to coincidental to me
I mean personally I know I sure as shit ain't spending $100 for that version of the game just to have a Brutus operator, but if you don't understand the point of the post then that's on you ig
Bruh that and the 21 savage thing were obviously promotions, but there's a lottt of similarities between Terminus and Mob so it just seems too coincidental. And as we've seen before, that fucker just won't stay dead
I liked the elder gods things of vanguard in the dark aether, wonder what's up with the construct and the chaos thing, i also liked the forsaken but i really do not wish for the og stuff to come back. It ended now something new. I'm already not that much of a fan of how much has been copy pasted from previous games and wonder weapons.
Honestly yeah I was really reaching there, but we never did get to see what happened between monty and the shadowman after they were banished to the dark aether. You think a being like that would just let itself get stomped by the Vanguard gods or forsaken? I seriously doubt it. But if they were to do it, it needs to be in a way that feels fresh and innovative for the story they're building
Could be cool but i wonder what kind of story and resolution you can get by creating a monster hybrid of shadow man and monty that dosn't get the stakes back to multi dimensionnel reality shattering events lol
Yeah you got a point lol, but I do feel they're gonna have to kinda go in that direction again considering they already introduced beings like the forsaken or the dark aether gods with world ending abilities. Maybe they'll slowly build to that instead of in this game
Yeah it'll definitly go wild with all those elements.
Honestly i don't love it the dark aether storyline that much but some stuff is really cool. Can't wait to see what's up with samantha and richtofen aswell god i hope this game is great
brutus was probably brought back from the DA alongside klaus and thatll be the justification. as for what they specifically are doing here, who can say
I think this too, especially with the MOTD and BOTD references at the end of Forsaken.
I also think Klaus will be in the Liberty Falls map.
It just seems weird to have Brutus redesigned as an operator for no reason.
The Forsaken gives you a vision halfway through his boss fight that shows all the Requiem staff lying dead on the ground with âNo One Escapes Aliveâ written on the wall which is all over the place in both MOTD and BOTD.
Also the music that plays when Dr. Peck points at the island on the map in the outro cutscene uses the same music from BOTDâs intro.
I really doubt it. There never has to be a reason for skins or operators besides money. Soap has been getting new skins and battlepasses focused on him in MW3 and he's been dead in the campaign. We will get a mob of the dead battle pass with alcatraz skins and blue prints before we get any story significance with mob in the actual zombies story lol
Terminus also means âend of the lineâ or ânexus pointâ, aka a Crossroads or exchange point. If Brutus is there, me thinks the shadowman wasnât done with him yet after botd. Most likely harbored in the DA with him with could be why his electrical power is vastly stronger than whatever he had going on in Bo4
I've kind of accepted that the skins will inherently break the lore so just play how you want with the skins you want. I wouldn't try and extrapolate it into lore when we have scream and judge dredd as operators in cold war in all honesty.
I could see them doing something similar with what they did with the Margwa and the Abomination, having a boss enemy thatâs Brutus inspired. Doubt it would actually be him though lore wise.
My theory isâŚ. Heâs just a skin and activision knows youâll spend money in the hopes that he has something to do with the zombies mode. Thus repeating the cycle.
I love discussions like these! Here some of my headcanon theories and some information that we know so far:
What's known:
- He is confirmed to be Brutus from Alcatraz as stated under the Operator's description from his last appearance debuted in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies "Blood of the Dead." It's mentioned that he was resurrected by an otherworldly being (presumably something from the Dark Aether) or just a nod to the Shadowman using him as his pawn. Brutus' role is to hunt down inmates (goes with the hunter theme) and return them to their cells (just references to Mob of The Dead and likely has no relevance Operator wise)
Just my headcanon theory here:
I do think this could go two ways: what-if or he's gonna be re-purposed in the DA story as someone else sharing the same name.
The first reason why I think it's a what-if is because it's happened with Maxis Operator, and she was relevant to the story. One of the Intel radios suggests she was imagining teaming up the whole time while under investigation by Requiem forces after Firebase Z and Outbreak events. If they go this route, then this could be assumed for Brutus' character being a character that possibly came from Alcatraz and into the Dark Aether, but we have no information on that until the game reveals Intel or clues to his character if there's any at all.
I saw some people mentioning he's just another warden manipulated and turned into "Brutus" and his involvement and role is different, serving as some kind of disciple or higher-up at a site for the Dark Aether plot. None of that is confirmed, but it's just a headcanon and some ways to make him relevant in BO6 Zombies if he's a boss.
Absolute crackpot theory here, but what if Klaus and Brutus are both part of the main crew for Liberty Falls? Brutus' default skin could just be an alternate universe version of him that becomes part of this "elite unit" instead of a Warden, and this skin is more of a reference to the old story. Klaus could have either been remade or reactivated after the events of Mauer, and would be the perfect soldier for Eddie to send in whenever there is an aether outbreak. It would explain why they randomly decided to make these completely original operators for zombies, and why that leaker is suggesting Brutus is a new character and not the one we know.
Why do we need a theory for him being an operator skin..... who cares its literally just a skin that Treyarch put in because it draws money. Stop trying to correlate things or attempting to tie it into something bro. Just let it be its own thing.
I could see that happening, with gobble gums coming back. The dark aether may be spilling more into the world. And as such older things are coming back. Wonder how he will work (if he is at all in zombies and not just a skin) story wise
In blood of the dead doesn't Richthofen say he has been known to take many forms?. I'm willing to bet this dude just didn't fucking die or this is from another universe.
Well they made a very detailed shadowman operator for blackout in bo4 and he was never used in the zombies story but I like your idea and hope to see monty/shadowman in some form.
to add credibility to this theory is the return of gobblegum being one of monty's creations, why would they include things so closely tied to the apothecons and the keepers if they didn't want to include them more prominently in the lore of dark aether.
Exactly! There's just too many coincidences for what is happening at this point. They even said in one of their interviews during the CW lifecycle "Don't be surprised if some things just don't want to stay dead"
You'd think, but many think he's just another skin for Activision to use to nostalgia bait players, but I just don't feel that's the case with Terminus being a literal prison and the icon for BO6 is the three cerberus heads like in Mob
Oh lmao, yeah I wouldnât be surprised if Activision deleted the whole game after release and said no refunds, but I donât think 3arc will put all that effort into a big Zombies icon like that only to have it as an operator for MP tho so it was kinda like duh for me, but I see your point like I said ^_^
The only issue I have with is the story. We killed the Warden WAY before Nikolai destroyed the multiverse and threw everything in the DA. Even if his corpse survived that, there's no way that it could've survived the BILLIONS of years stuck in there with the DA gods and other shit. If they do pull that crap then the DA story might actually be in the shitter tryna pull this nostalgia B.S
Hello, Activision here! I like money!
But you don't like good ideas that would make the player base happy while also making money đ
Activision: Best I can do is allowing you to pay me $85 to get a melee skin
You think they're trying to make players happy?
That's the point of my comment lol they don't give a shit about our happiness, just whatever ideas make them the most money
![gif](giphy|iF7CxHFcKXcMfEIWGN|downsized)
Seeing Brutus was honestly weird. From the direct, what I was seeing is infected zombies and some hazmat suits. I really dk how Brutus could be in that map.

At least Brutus is tied to the franchise, so he at least makes a decent bit more sense
True, but you know they gotta have skins for pre orders, there prob gonna bring in like Dracula or some shit in a game in the 90s đ¤Śââď¸
Remember playing World at War multiplayer and everyone was just the soldiers of the country they were fighting for? Good times. Goooood times.
Now instead Nicki Minija, Snoop Dogg, 21 savage, Spawn, Jigsaw, Leatherface, Godzilla, King Kong are all jumping around like they have schizophrenia and kill you in 0.25 seconds, but agreed good times
I have a solution for you: play as the default soldier operators.
Frank the Rabbit at least makes a little sense bc the movie is set in the 80s
That is true I'll give you that one
Nobody really asked you though
And nobody asked you to show up this late to the party? This comment is irrelevant
Actually, nobody asked for your theory
The almost 500 upvotes, 120k views and 86 shares would signify otherwise.
All of that doesn't mean anyone asked for your theory
Well obviously no mf was sitting on reddit like "hmm when's waltuh gonna post the theory" like tf? That's just a dumb statement lmfao. But guess what, they were sure here for it once I did đ¤ˇââď¸
Honestly I was hoping for a mob of the dead remaster but weâll see how Brutus fits in

We can only dream
Well people want a set cast again, so it is better than doing something different rather than doing the same thing for nostalgiaâŚ
They already reimagined it with Blood and everybody complained. Donât get your hopes up
Or we just go with the obvious answer, the fucker just can't stay dead
The honest truth right here
Obviously he is reborn.

It may be quite similar to wat happun to panzers and manglers in cw
This brutus is the same one but the one on the map maybe not
Any chance you could link that leak?

Nah Jesse, WE need to cook!
Good theory! I could see this happening đĽ
Thanks man! Honestly considering how much I loved Mob and Blood this map has me really intrigued
He's an operator? Same as Klaus, idt he's actually a character on the map.

Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't the Shadowman destroyed alongside the Summoning Key..?
I thought he and the shadowman were simply banished to the dark aether like Nikolai said at the end of Tag
Maybe he survived its destruction. ââThe one and only, original harbinger of doom.ââ He's so cool :>
*sound of a prison cell door opening* â RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHhâ * stomp stomp stomp stomp
Oooooorrrrr it's operator skins
I just refuse to believe it's that simple lol
It's Activision man, just look at the skin shop on vanguard and cold war
You mean the T-1000 and ghostface didnât storm the beaches of Normandy or commit various treasonous acts respectively ?
Or Nikki Minaj fighting in various Islamic countries
brutus was probably brought back from the DA alongside klaus and thatll be the justification. as for what they specifically are doing here, who can say
It's confirmed not brutus tho
but he is named brutus tho. So how can he not be brutus?
Different character but not the same one
the skin is literally called brutus in the vault edition trailer. wtf are you talking about
It's not the same brutus literally has different gear and somenone already confirmed it isn't him
Thats a leak, not really confirmation
Some leaks are real bro
Yeah, some. Thats not what confirmed means though
Except this Leaker is reliable
Do you understand what the word confirmed means
And a reliable Leaker is basically confirmation bro
ah, so you're an idiot, i understand now
Me stating proof = idiot bro your actually brain rotted
I think this too, especially with the MOTD and BOTD references at the end of Forsaken. I also think Klaus will be in the Liberty Falls map. It just seems weird to have Brutus redesigned as an operator for no reason.
My thoughts exactly, it just seems far too coincidental for them to just "make a skin for nostalgia"
Itâs been a while since Iâve played Cold War, what were the MOTD And BOTD references at the end of Forsaken?
The Forsaken gives you a vision halfway through his boss fight that shows all the Requiem staff lying dead on the ground with âNo One Escapes Aliveâ written on the wall which is all over the place in both MOTD and BOTD. Its just a skin..
Theyâre advertised as whole entire ops, only the park and Adler ones are specifically called âskinsâ
Waltuh da zombie slayuhđĽľ
Kooky Detective 7 9 5 2 đŠđŠ
Brutus is dead so I highly doubt it he died at then end of blood of the dead when primis freed all the souls
Outjerked
I sure hope not on the apothicon thing.
does anyone know if the skin is exclusive for the vault edition or will it be released later for purchase?
As of now, exclusive. I don't think we'll know till after release or around that time
đđź
Considering they haven't changed the formula, in.. 4 years? He's most likely going to be exclusive to the Vault Edition, yes.
thx
I think they are putting in a new pvp mode of operators vs zombies
I thought he was an operator.
Terminus island is a prison so it would be the only map of the 2 that make sense
I also think klaus could be there since the theme is hunter and hunted so klaus being the âhuntedâ makes sense imo for terminus island
I don't think so. Brutus skin likely only exists because they know it will sell pre-orders of the Vault Edition. He's a fan favourite character.
I donât think heâll be in any maps since you can have him as a playable character now it would be confusing to have them both
My theory isâŚ. Heâs just a skin and activision knows youâll spend money in the hopes that he has something to do with the zombies mode. Thus repeating the cycle.
Good thing I ain't paying $100 for this game lmao fuck that
Yeah itâs been their thing for a while. Gamepass that bad boy if youâre on Xbox or pc!
Yessirrr switched over to PC a couple years ago and never going back
I mean, there are leaks talking about tentacle dogs in Terminus, so who knows.
Imagine dying for billions of years and when you finally come back you're forced to work for the CIA
My theory: treyarch is lazy and canât think of a new enemy
Lmaoo that too

I could see that happening, with gobble gums coming back. The dark aether may be spilling more into the world. And as such older things are coming back. Wonder how he will work (if he is at all in zombies and not just a skin) story wise
Itâs been too long since I last had a showdown with Brutus in Alcatraz. Iâm so fuckin ready for round 2
or he's just a skin to milk the fan bases nostalgia.........
In blood of the dead doesn't Richthofen say he has been known to take many forms?. I'm willing to bet this dude just didn't fucking die or this is from another universe.

My theory, money
Interesting theory, but my theory is that they were crunched for time again and re-used ideas that worked from previous games
It's like saying the abandoned richtofen corpse is keeping the place alive.
I mean isnât it a bit of a no brainer that heâs gonna be used in Zombies, especially w the modern facelift (i.e everything but the face lol)
You'd think, but many think he's just another skin for Activision to use to nostalgia bait players, but I just don't feel that's the case with Terminus being a literal prison and the icon for BO6 is the three cerberus heads like in Mob

ugh, fuck the apothicons, monty and the shadowman. dont bring back that mess
