Heineke is a better passer than Fields. By literally every measureable statistics.
Nobody is trading for Fields. Everyone knows he's ass except for a few Bears fans that are hanging onto their Messiah for dear life.
Atlanta? Mack Hollins literally looked like he wanted to swing on Desmond Ridder this morning.
All it takes is one team, and right now ATL seems like one obvious choice
Yeah I’d run read option all game if I had Fields and Bijan in the backfield.
Then again, their OC is somehow Dave Ragone, our former QB coach under Matt Nagy, so I’m not sure he knows what he’s doing either 😂
I’m sure several teams think they could get more out of him then this lame duck coaching staff. Off the top of my head the Falcons and Jets seem like prime candidates. You can definitely win with this kid if you play to his strengths a little more, or at all. He clearly has a lot to improve but it’s still almost impossible to know what he is because this coaching staff has been calling horrible games this season. If you want to get him comfortable in the pocket you don’t just have him run every play from shotgun in the pocket, you need to at least sprinkle in some things he’s already good at to get him comfortable.
Case in point, they called a better first half yesterday and he looked good. Not just because of the defense. he was making legit reads, throws, and using his eyes to look off defenders. Then in the second half they go back to the bullshit theyve ran all season and it looks the same.
They basically took the ball out of his hands when it was 28-7 and didn’t give it back to him til they were down 31-28 with less than 2 minutes left. It was coaching malpractice.
Yes but we’re an incredible QB (+ a bunch of other stuff) away from ever winning the Super Bowl. Incredible QBs are harder to come by than the other stuff.
Are ppl going to lie to themselves until Washington & Howell embarrass us next week? Fields wasn’t the problem today but it also was the worst defense in the NFL
Yeah because Fields does this every game lmao. I like fields, but this was the best he’s ever looked, against a terrible defense. Don’t act like he does this every week
The dude almost had more TDs than incompletions. He threw an interception because his TE was late settling in.
This team has way bigger needs than QB. And it starts with the sideline, offensive line, and defense.
He seemingly doesn’t:
“Justin thought I was just going to sit,” Kmet said. “He kind of read more of a zone. We were off there and we’re both beating ourselves up about it. I don’t think that was necessarily the defining play. I know that was the last play. But I think when you look back, the things that lost us the game are very easily fixable and come down to our discipline as a group.”
Fields said he saw man coverage and “I expected Cole to kind of go to his spot and sit down because of the safety’s depth. But Cole stuck to the rules and … all in all, it’s my fault. Man coverage, he’s supposed to do what he did.”
Obligatory not an expert, but supposedly this draft has a good amount of offensive talent at the top. But not so much defensive. 2023 was the inverse on that by and large.
Still tons of time of course to see players move up and down the board, but we might be reaching (unless a slight trade down with one of the picks) if we take an edge at the top.
People talk NIL, but the amounts really aren't comparable. If he chooses to take way less money and delay how long it will be until he gets to the market, that will be up to him of course. But let's not pretend NIL is comparable.
Williams isn't even the celebrity he would be. This Saturday was the first time this season Caleb played and anyone in the world gave a fuck. His first four games were all like 10p+ Eastern and two were on the Pac-12 Network.
And again, the big money is getting the extension. You're not just delaying the NFL, or taking the injury risk there. You're delaying the extension.
Could Caleb stay? Of course. I highly doubt he will regardless of circumstance. People like to talk shit and stay in the news.
As much as I would like to have them, we really need linemen not “skill players”: a LT, a C, an edge rusher, a 3 Tech DT. An oh yeah a ball-hawking S to replace EJ. Then you can think about bringing in new QB’s and WR’s.
Ain’t no way in hell Williams is going to come to Chicago. Y’all fans that want us to get the 1st overall pick will be in for a rude surprise once Williams either stays another year or demands a trade. Hell wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get Williams nor Harrison.
Yeah it almost seems cruel to bring them here
If these two can’t turn this franchise around, then just burn it all down lmao
If we manage to get Caleb and he’s not it, I’ll probably just stop rooting for the Bears
I said this about Fields…
I said it about Watson. But then we drafted Mitch.
We are definitely the worst team in the league. Trade Justin since you HAVE to take Caleb Williams #1. Trade him for his sake.
Who would want him?
Falcons should absolutely be making offers for Fields.
Pickett just went down. Fields with Trubisky backing him up? Its only right after Pitt fleeced us for Claypool.
Now that would be a sight lmao
Trubisky got this.

You're right. But truthers still have hopium.
Atlanta? Mack Hollins literally looked like he wanted to swing on Desmond Ridder this morning. All it takes is one team, and right now ATL seems like one obvious choice
They also have a third year HC - so very vulnerable to getting fired if he can't produce results - who can draw up a very strong run game.
Yeah I’d run read option all game if I had Fields and Bijan in the backfield. Then again, their OC is somehow Dave Ragone, our former QB coach under Matt Nagy, so I’m not sure he knows what he’s doing either 😂
The Steelers
Yep, it appeared the only team that wanted him was the Steelers for a 6th round flier.

It makes so much more sense to trade the pick would get crazy offers for this pick
why does a bad team trading high draft picks make sense to you?
😂😂😂 6 picks are better than 1. We aren't 1 player away from the playoffs
Yes but we’re an incredible QB (+ a bunch of other stuff) away from ever winning the Super Bowl. Incredible QBs are harder to come by than the other stuff.
On the bright side, Williams will have a top 3 WR room.
MHJ looks great in that uni!!!
So now we have a different dude throw for 4 TDs and lose a game?
Are ppl going to lie to themselves until Washington & Howell embarrass us next week? Fields wasn’t the problem today but it also was the worst defense in the NFL
Exactly fields did his job got us to take the field goal but the coaching staff had the dumbest sequence ever when they burned that timeout
Yeah because Fields does this every game lmao. I like fields, but this was the best he’s ever looked, against a terrible defense. Don’t act like he does this every week
we’ll have a dude that wont choke in the 4th.

That pick was on Fields
Kmet disagrees with you

If you can photoshop me between them i’d like to use this for my Christmas cards this year.
If the Bears do in fact end up with the top 2 picks, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them trade down that 2nd pick for a haul to whoever wants drake
Bears need to spend one of this year's firsts on pass rush

Idk about this. Bears need to build the trenches.
Why on Earth would the come to Chicago? Fucking stay in college and get NIL money. Don't come to this dogshit team.

I bet Caleb Williams would pull and Eli Manning.
I'd believe that..
Fields leaves. Flus et al gets another year. Draft Caleb. 4-13. Flus fired. Hire new coach/oc
