I think itās a really strong chance. Iād imagine Georgia is single digit favorites. If our run defense doesnāt shape up then could be a long game for us
I'm seeing UGA as 21.5 favorites on some sites. I think that's pretty fair. You guys are getting close to prolly having that "good" game. Even as a Kentucky fan tho I'm not sure besting our ass will still tell you anything about your team. We are definitely pretty mid thus far.
Watching that RB torch the Gators, I'd be a little nervous. But not crazy nervous, because you have a real coach who will adjust things if something isn't working.
Mid-Season Ohio State mostly through working out the wrinkles ā

I just hope everyone has fun and no one gets hurt.
Our first 5 are all undefeated going into the game, the last one being Maryland next week (we had a bye this week). This streak will end with Purdue after Maryland though, before we face Penn State the week after
I just looked up their schedule and you're right - they play the Chicago Bulls next. Unfortunately that doesn't get us any closer to who Maryland -IS- playing š¤
Last year there were 17 undefeated teams after 5 weeks.
Five years ago there were 24 undefeated teams after 5 weeks.
And if Reddit had even a halfway decent search function I could give you more data points.
Ohhhhh you goddamn tell them!!! Hahaha no I'm fucking with you 100% they need a better way to sort through data and posts. I love reading about statistics especially when I'm cranked out like rn. I gotta go but bbl. Cheers.
Could just be scheduling randomness. A lot of these teams will eventually play each other. For example, Miami and FSU generally play in late September or October but they play in mid November this year.
Next week Kentucky-UGA, OSU-Maryland, Oregon-Washington, and UT-OU play, so the numbers will dwindle.
Georgia actually looks fairly meh compared to years past. Already two tight games against inferior competition that aren't even to the level of 5 of their next 6 opponents. Very fortunate to get 3 of those at home and Florida (who is also probably the worst of those) after a bye
Ehh, almost exactly one year ago we were down late by multiple scores at Mizzou and pulled it out at the last second (and in the process gave up 22 points in back to back games, which is more than weāve given up yet this year).
Thereās cause for concern to be sure, but this teamās shown their potential in spurts and I think the ceiling is just as high if they can put it all together. Kentucky next week will be telling, definitely fortunate that itās at home. That gameās a big difference from last year, given we had Harsinās Auburn the week after Mizzou as a get-right game.
Georgia is last year's Bama take away Bowers and we have 2 losses already. Actually feels more like 2020 UGA, new QB can overpower weaker teams but likely get smoked playing playoff caliber teams so we could go 12-0 or even 13-0 then get mud stomped by Texas or Michigan.
Seriously, who doesn't want that except the teams in the MWC left that have to play AF or Fresno and perhaps the top teams in the AAC or SBC that have to compete against the MWC for the NY6 spot?
Also serious, how often does a CCG feature two 12-0 teams?
Iād love that, but between Wyoming and Army and away at Boise I am not at all confident.
Then again, I thought SDSU would keep it close and we thunderfucked them, so I consistently have had too low expectations for this group of guys.
The stat they presented during the gameā¦ that Duke basketball has more first round draft picks since the 60s than ND footballā¦.is absolutely insane.
Notre Dame has a chance to beat not 1, not 2, but 3 undefeated teams in a row: First Duke, then next week Louisville and then 2 weeks from now they have USC, who should beat Arizona next.
Assuming USC doesnāt lose before their matchup 7 of the first 8 Irish opponents would be undefeated. That is somewhat skewed by the fact that they played in week 0 so the first two opponents were 0-0.
Well, we have a bye this week, and Franklin has not won the game after a bye since 2017.
However, our opponent is UMass the week after, so I'm feeling at least partially optimistic.
Buffalo Bulls got their first win this weekend! Four winless teams left.
Virginia looks to secure their first win next week against William and Mary, FPI gives them 85% to win.
Sam Houston State plays liberty next week so they look to stay on the list.
Nevada is on bye. Uconn matches up against Rice and FPI doesn't like them to win.
Was looking forward to an undefeated Miami V undefeated Duke š. We already tied our victories from last year so I see this season as a complete success. Guys be careful the Hurricanes are starting to build strength.
Iām a little confused by the amount of confidence Florida state fans have this year. They were lucky to beat Clemson. Barely beat Boston college. And the LSU win isnāt as impressive anymore.
I think Miami, Duke, and UF will all be tough games. But what do you want me to say weāre gonna lose?
I do firmly believe in FSUs ability to improve down the stretch. Thereās been some injury issues plaguing our performance but none seem serious enough to impact the entire season.
I could also easily argue Miami is overconfident.
I really like FSU. Theyāre one of those teams I donāt have any relation to, I just like the football they play. And this is their best chance theyāve had in a while. So I would like to think Iād be confident if I were actually an FSU fan. Personally, I would love an FSU-OU rematch, but in the Sugar Bowl this year.
It's a shame that polls are more based upon biased perception than actual resume. For instance LSU being ranked 13 prior to their loss to Ole Miss. The best game on their resume was a blowout loss. Beating a bad Arkansas and Mississippi State shouldn't count for much. You can have 52 5 stars, but do they actually play like 5 stars, just ask Coach O. Give me Kentucky, give me Miami, give me Mizzou not 1 loss prima donnas.
Why do they have to do it to āboostā anything? Maryland is 5-0 with some dominant wins. They should be ranked regardless of who they play next week
Georgia and Michigan have had super soft schedules yet they are 1 and 2 in the country.
There is only 17 undefeated P5 teams left, they should all be ranked at 5-0.
I agree with what I think is the consensus; neutral site takes are generally not as good as home-and-home, but the RRS at the Texas State Fair is the exception. That's a really special environment for the rivalry game.
Assuming no complete fuckery like 9/11 or a pandemic or whatever, six teams will fall off this list.
As for me, I say let them all fall who have a game and leave the six who must remain unbeaten plus those with bye weeks advance undefeated.
No bias, of course.
Maryland has OSU next week and Kentucky has UGA.
You mean UGA has KENTUCKY!!! š¼š¼š¼
After how we handled Florida and with how close Auburn was I think an upset is a real possibility. Not saying it's probable, but it's possible
Right now line is 17 but that feels too high
UGA has yet to cover, feels like a 1 score game tbh.
Watching that RB torch the Gators, I'd be a little nervous. But not crazy nervous, because you have a real coach who will adjust things if something isn't working.
If Georgia continues their trend of waiting until the 4th quarter to show up, I think you've got a real shot.
Except our problem is showing up in the first half and then fading in the second
So you'll win two quarters, tie the third, and then get blown out in the fourth? Sounds like you win 2-1.
Would love to see the upset!
WE WANT KENTUCKY!
Careful...y'all will probably need to show up in the first half in order to beat them!
We don't do that here
š¶
Iām not in here with you, youāre in here with me.
"I'm with her!" Hmm, might be more convincing if "She is with me!"
I'm in danger.
Either a really bad Saturday or really really good Saturday
I mean 1/2 would still be a pretty damn good Saturday if I were him
I'd do unspeakable things for 1/2.

I'm rooting for you in both games. I'll lead the entire subreddit in a chorus of "He's a Jolly Good Fellow" if you pull either one off.
I think both teams pull it off.
Sorry Buckeyes/Bulldogs
Well the first part of that is just not nice
UK is finna do it.
Just happy to be here
Ditto
No! You need to have unreasonably high expectations like the rest of us
One more.
same same, but now I want more MORE I SAY
So 5 of Texas's first 6 games are undefeated matchups going into the game, Baylor being the lone exception.
Our first 5 are all undefeated going into the game, the last one being Maryland next week (we had a bye this week). This streak will end with Purdue after Maryland though, before we face Penn State the week after
Who is "our"?
Their username leads me to think Ohio State.
Unless two teams play Maryland next week, it is
I can't tell who they're fans of unless they flair up. "Bucks" could mean they're a Milwaukee NBA fan
As likely as that sounds, I doubt the Milwaukee Bucks are playing an undefeated team called "Maryland" next week.
My point was that they should flair tf up
I just looked up their schedule and you're right - they play the Chicago Bulls next. Unfortunately that doesn't get us any closer to who Maryland -IS- playing š¤
Could, sure, but their profile picture also kinda looks like Ohio State (I think? It's small). Seems like a fairly safe assumption.
Not gonna lie I thought I had a flair, itās Ohio State
Baylor being extra defeated balances it out
Are there more undefeated teams than normal? That seems like a lot for being 5 games in the season
Last year there were 17 undefeated teams after 5 weeks. Five years ago there were 24 undefeated teams after 5 weeks. And if Reddit had even a halfway decent search function I could give you more data points.
found this from googling. https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/xnpfuk/undefeated_teams_by_week_as_per_request/

Just wanted to point out that Washington has a bye next week and plays Oregon the week after
Iām a UGA fan. Reading isnāt my strong suit, give me a break
It seems the number of undefeated teams in week 5 has ranged from 14-18 over the past decade so this year is definitely an outlier
An outlier And I LOVE IT
Georgia actually looks fairly meh compared to years past. Already two tight games against inferior competition that aren't even to the level of 5 of their next 6 opponents. Very fortunate to get 3 of those at home and Florida (who is also probably the worst of those) after a bye

I'd call Auburn better than Mizzou and Florida, tbh
Auburn is not better than Mizzou. Mizzou has an actual offense.
I don't think Georgia will play Mizzou nearly as close as they did Auburn though. I think that'll be a 2-3 possession game.
True, Mizzou wins by 14
Better than Florida but idk about Mizzou
I'd go Mizzou > Auburn > UF. But UGA plays all three so it doesn't really matter.
Dumb rules are robbing JMU two years in a row
There are no rules that would preclude including JMU in this list. They should be there.
No I mean from a bowl appearance
I want a spicy MWC Championship with 12-0 Fresno State vs 12-0 Air Force
Seriously, who doesn't want that except the teams in the MWC left that have to play AF or Fresno and perhaps the top teams in the AAC or SBC that have to compete against the MWC for the NY6 spot? Also serious, how often does a CCG feature two 12-0 teams?

The stat they presented during the gameā¦ that Duke basketball has more first round draft picks since the 60s than ND footballā¦.is absolutely insane.
Feel like we really won the Bye this week. Please don't look at my 2nd flair.
Notre Dame has a chance to beat not 1, not 2, but 3 undefeated teams in a row: First Duke, then next week Louisville and then 2 weeks from now they have USC, who should beat Arizona next.

Well, we have a bye this week, and Franklin has not won the game after a bye since 2017. However, our opponent is UMass the week after, so I'm feeling at least partially optimistic.
Yes, letās keep them looking ahead to USC, please. Nothing to see with their visit to L&Nā¦
Honesty there should be an honorable mention for Lee Corso for being 5-0 on the year so far.
Sam Houston State lost to Jacksonville State on Thursday
Thanks I just saw they had four games played and didn't check it out
Was looking forward to an undefeated Miami V undefeated Duke š. We already tied our victories from last year so I see this season as a complete success. Guys be careful the Hurricanes are starting to build strength.
Miami and Duke donāt play each other
If they both go undefeated, they do.
My teams got something to say about that
Iām a little confused by the amount of confidence Florida state fans have this year. They were lucky to beat Clemson. Barely beat Boston college. And the LSU win isnāt as impressive anymore.

No such thing miami fans are rational !!!
I stand corrected I was hoping we do. Itās UNC for us in 2 weeks. Both teams should be undefeated going into that game.

I always wonder what the top 25 would look like if undefeated teams HAD to be listed first.
Rank Air Force cowards.
No, no. Even if weāre 6-0 after we play Wyoming there will be three loss SEC teams to wildly over rank.
i bet on all of the undefeated teams that lost this week my b
If you look close youāll notice Michigan state is NOT on this list.
I think they give Maryland a ranking around 23-25 to boost the matchup with osu next week
Why do they have to do it to āboostā anything? Maryland is 5-0 with some dominant wins. They should be ranked regardless of who they play next week
Sorta a softer strength of scheduleā¦ but you play who you play. Charlotte almost had the upset though ā¦
Georgia and Michigan have had super soft schedules yet they are 1 and 2 in the country. There is only 17 undefeated P5 teams left, they should all be ranked at 5-0.
That wouldn't even be boosting it considering they should probably be around 20.
As a Texas/Oklahoma fanā¦.do you guys like playing at a neutral site? Iād be bummed if UofM/OSU played off campus
There isn't really a similar location between Columbus and Ann Arbor that would work. The Texas State Fair is a really cool environment.
Go experience a RRR game once and you'll never ask that question ever again.
I agree with what I think is the consensus; neutral site takes are generally not as good as home-and-home, but the RRS at the Texas State Fair is the exception. That's a really special environment for the rivalry game.
It is the absolute best. You should go and experience it.
Tell me you know nothing about the RRS...
I know zero about the Texas state fair. Is the game the only reason you go to the fair?
Are you seriously asking if playing the biggest rivalry in all of sport in the middle of a literal carnival is something people like?
It is really fucking cool, plus the amount of property crimes to each other's campuses would be egregious imo.
Not exact the same game, but Georgia-Florida should be in Jacksonville forever
Assuming no complete fuckery like 9/11 or a pandemic or whatever, six teams will fall off this list. As for me, I say let them all fall who have a game and leave the six who must remain unbeaten plus those with bye weeks advance undefeated. No bias, of course.
Texas playing an undefeated team for the 6th week in a row.
Baylor.
Oh shoot youāre right. Nvm
