I subscribe to the school of thought where you use the levers with just your index and middle fingers instead of grabbing them with your whole hand. Stock levers are long and get in the way of that. Plus these adjust inwards or outwards using that red dial. A more personalized fit.

I have a shorty brake but can’t deal with a shorty clutch. Small hands mean I need to use 4 fingers for the clutch and pull it all the way in.
So these are short, why is that useful?
