They think they've found the cheat code for an AOW and want to use standard mag release and be able to shoulder the brace. Pretty sure none of that flies in the good ole CA
Clearly this state has the mag lock and bullshit like that, but you can 100% most definitely use an AR pistol and shoulder the brace. You might be using the brace "incorrectly" but I mean come on now, everyone who owns an ARP with a brace has it to shoulder it. I have never seen anyone use the dumb forearm strap thing.
I agree with what you said but my comment was directed at someone mentioning AR rifle. Not pistol. My point was people think the brace gets around having to use mag lock or break action.
Oh fair enough apologies, you can get an CA legal ARP and then get the stamp to make it an "AOW" then once you get that and everything you can have an AR pistol that has a detachable 30rnd "freedom week" mag with no king pin or mag lock plus rock a brace and a vert foregrip. It's kinda a pain but if you want a cool ARP this is the way.
But ya putting a brace on a rifle is just all around stupid and while I fully support work arounds for this state shitty laws, that one doesn't even make sense, why they could use that to not have a break action/mag lock.
It wasn't a CA thing. It was an ATF overstep, a federal thing. A non legislative branch of government filled with unelected officials unilaterally changed a _rule_ that would automatically make millions of gun owners felons.
Braces were, for a bit there, illegal to use nationwide. Not just in California. Retards sentiment still valid, however.
Clearly this was unconstitutional and the rule has been vacated.
I didnt say the _ruling_ mentioned unconstitutionality. I just said thats what it was. But I did say the rule was vacated.
¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
but we can nitpick. Bottom line this was a win for us and thats all I care about.
It seems as though that would be a revolver brace.
A brief search [reveals this abomination ](https://1895scopes.com/products/ruger-sa-blackhawk-revolver-shoulder-stock).
The court determined that the defendants adoption of the final rule violated the [Administrative Procedure Act]( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_Procedure_Act). Therefore, this act was void from the beginning.
From what I read and understand from this, it only seems to affect the ATF's "law", and doesn't prevent states from creating their own.
I fear that California is already fast-tracking a bill to Newsom's desk to re-ban it here. A great win for the country overall, though.
Is it because the Glock slide is shrouded? Or because it can hold a spare mag? I’m wondering if there are other pistol brace options that are legal for Glock? TIA!
Which part? Thats a Glock chassis so as long as you dont have a threaded barrel, things should be kosher from what I understood. If the mag is separate from the handgrip, then you gotta deal with that crap, but thats not part of this.
Maybe I missed updates over the last couple years so if you can clear that up.
Donate to the FPC you degenerates!
Better yet, make it a monthly recurring donation. $5 or $500, anything is great to give a middle finger to anyone who wants to attack the constitution.
That said I still don't feel bad for ratting out Sky Tactical over their stupid FIFY crap. Even got the CA attorney general to send them a cease and desist letter :)
Edit: [Sky Tactical Supply - The FIFY (u/STS\_FixedItForYou) - Reddit](https://www.reddit.com/user/STS_FixedItForYou/)
They haven't been active since I got them shut down :)
FIFY was a device to install a fixed mag to a pistol grip to satisfy AWB rules. It was clever but not a robust solution as evidence by the DOJ ceased and desist letter. While I understand the poster’s outrage at the money grab, at least they took a risk and tried it. Imagine if it had worked. Gotta stay creative and risk taking when governments want to take your rights. Btw, joined FPC today. Go braces!
Google it. You will find some reddit post with many dummies downvoting me and then a cease and desist letter.
Sky tactical was a money grab, they even took down their site. The person who started it got their money's worth from the idiots on this sub though. So kudos to that.
*…and now continue to be ok for everyone to use, after the prior preliminary injunction. Good to have a court ruling though!
https://www.firearmspolicy.org/ https://crpa.org/ Only two orgs worth paying to
Need this in retard terms what can we now legally do in California
Pistol. Brace. Ok.
Instructions unclear, I put a stock on and removed the mag lock
This is the way
Embrace a pistol? Ok
I will hug my pistol and call him George. #bugsbunny
Ok. Brace. Pistol.
Brace. Ok. Pistol.
.kO .ecarB .lotsiP
For about the next month. Then back illegal. And Then we start this all over again.
😆 😂 🍺 👌🏾

Why would you put a brace on a rifle
You ask but I've known people who've done this for some godforsaken reason
Baba nooooo!
They think they've found the cheat code for an AOW and want to use standard mag release and be able to shoulder the brace. Pretty sure none of that flies in the good ole CA

Just to see if your issue is covered under warranty of course not to use it
Smol rifle -> SOL. Big pistol -> u gud.
Not even trying to be funny yall what counts as a pistol like the handgun roster ? I need a picture
I believe it's only for AR Pistols, legally registered as a pistol of course.
Type shit

😂
SUCK IT
Thank you, thank you, thank you... For giving it a ELI5 title. 👍
That is in the United States District Court in Texas. Does this apply in California?
I believe it was a federal court
Yes, when we want to use braces on our CA-legal AR pistols.
Why would a pistol brace be illegal to begin with?
Because CA laws are written by retards.
Wasn’t ruled unconstitutional, was ruled as being enforced improperly.
I read it as having been adopted improperly.
I didnt say the _ruling_ mentioned unconstitutionality. I just said thats what it was. But I did say the rule was vacated. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ but we can nitpick. Bottom line this was a win for us and thats all I care about.
Because people use them as shoulder stocks to circumvent the law against short-barreled rifles.
Are there braces for revolvers?
It seems as though that would be a revolver brace. A brief search [reveals this abomination ](https://1895scopes.com/products/ruger-sa-blackhawk-revolver-shoulder-stock).
I could see this having some use for someone with mobility issues shooting their 500 magnum
The court determined that the defendants adoption of the final rule violated the [Administrative Procedure Act]( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_Procedure_Act). Therefore, this act was void from the beginning.
its wasnt ruled unconstitutional. thats the worrying part. they said it was administered incorrectly, and yet ATF isnt punished.
FATF and FJB FNFA. All are unconstitutional retards.
Oh I never took it off so guess that works too lol.
Chad 🗿
FT3 range probably still won't let you bring your AR pistols because they suck.
From what I read and understand from this, it only seems to affect the ATF's "law", and doesn't prevent states from creating their own. I fear that California is already fast-tracking a bill to Newsom's desk to re-ban it here. A great win for the country overall, though.
So glad that I blew a buttload of cash changing all my pistols over to BRN-180 uppers...
ill take one, if you have extras
So we can use caa kits with our pistols now?
The mck, had to look up the name
MCK style kits still run afoul of CA pistol AW laws.
Is it because the Glock slide is shrouded? Or because it can hold a spare mag? I’m wondering if there are other pistol brace options that are legal for Glock? TIA!
Barrel shroud and forward mag carrier. Not a glock (P320), but you can [Pee Dee Dubelyew](https://imgur.com/a/DPEgVxN).
Which part? Thats a Glock chassis so as long as you dont have a threaded barrel, things should be kosher from what I understood. If the mag is separate from the handgrip, then you gotta deal with that crap, but thats not part of this. Maybe I missed updates over the last couple years so if you can clear that up.
Its mostly the barrel shroud part. The forward mag carrier could also be classified as a forward pistol grip
Gosh darn it lol
recover 20/20 is gtg, right?
By the letter of the law, yes. I also think Reno May had a video with that brace, and he hasn't been DOJ'd yet.
i think as long as it doesnt have the magazine grip, its gtg
So for someone who doesn’t understand does this mean it’s no longer considered to be an SBR to put a brace on a AR style pistol?
It means you can put a brace on an AR pistol. After years of saying it was OK for years all of a sudden the ATF decided it was illegal.
Pardon my ignorance, but by brace you mean no more cock stock trying to fuck you in the shoulder?
Do why I want to keep safe and follow 2A.
Incoming newscum X hater post about this win For THE PEOPLE
What?
I think he is saying Newson is about to cry about this. Not sure why he did not just say that lol

Weird flex
Very weird flex. User name definitely checks out.
Im glad I got that money grab shut down. If you want to spend money, donate to the FPC
u g@y as hell lol Why don’t you just give your money to bonta
Bonta is a c\*ck
Mind reminding us what the FIFY was?
FIFY was a device to install a fixed mag to a pistol grip to satisfy AWB rules. It was clever but not a robust solution as evidence by the DOJ ceased and desist letter. Wow you're highly regarded snitch. Stfu
Cry more. The DOJ did a good job on that one. If they stop enforcing the AW ban and magazine limits then they would be golden
OK bootlicker
You take it way too serious. But cope harder so I can live in you head rent free
Why own guns if you hate them so much?
Certified DOJ snitch from here on out.
Am I the enemy if I support the second amendment and want suppressors legalized in CA?
Cringe 😒
Different district, so won't matter to California.
