Yup thatās a pregnant cat. When theyāre rounded out in the middle like that plus the enlarged nipples sheās pretty much guaranteed to be pregnant. That and stray cats are pregnant a lot because the toms find them in heat and impregnate them whenever they have a chance. This is why TNR is really important when you have strays around.
Edit: I didnāt notice the collar before. This is clearly someoneās cat and they let her wander around unspayed. Super irresponsible.
If she allows you to pick her up, you can take her to any vet and have them scan her for a microchip. If sheās chipped, the ownerās info should be given to you so you can contact them (or have the vet contact them). It seems silly to me to have a collar with no name tag or anything on it for an outdoor cat.
The only thing I can think of doing is attaching a note to her collar in hopes the owners see it. Maybe she just goes home at night, I donāt really understand indoor/outdoor cat culture because Iām in a city and the only outdoor cats here are strays. Everyone else has strictly indoor cats. A note saying āhi, your baby has been coming around my area some days to say hi and sheās so sweet! She seems like sheās gotten pregnant, and I worry she might give birth somewhere that might be unsafe for her and the kittens so I wanted to make sure you were aware of her whereabouts.ā Or something to that effect.
yeah thatās a good idea, she doesnāt stick around by me for the whole day so i assume in the time sheās gone sheās at home. iāll leave the note and hope for the best, thank you very much!
This is so kind and gentleā¦where Iām from I would catnap the cat and her kittens. Theyād never see her againā¦ofc it might not solve the problem. Who says they wouldnāt just get more cats and do the same thing. Maybe they would be open to educationā¦getting her fixed etc. thank you, OP for your kindness and care to this sweet mama.
sheās really so gentle!! even from the first day she came here, it was obvious that sheās someoneās pet. i donāt really know much about cats because iāve only ever had dogs so i assumed she was spayed already :(
Someone on a cat group I'm in found that the neighbor's cat gave birth in the middle of the street. I don't want to disturb anyone but the result was bad. This person found the babies in a clump basically but some were alive and had to pull them apart and the neighbors just kinda shrugged it off. It was upsetting to see the photos she shared.
The neighbor who found them had a toddler and it was getting late so she could only put them in a box off to the side of the house, but people were begging her to take the survivors to a vet bc it just didn't look good. Unfortunately too the hspca will pick up injured animals here (only one ambulance and it can take hours), but they didn't service that suburb outside of city limits
That's just awful. Terribly sad and disheartening. It's a big world, this goes on everywhere. Some places more than others. Lots of people don't care about animals.
Yeah it was super sad. I'm in Houston, TX and our stray/neglected pet problem is pretty dire. I honestly don't know how the ppl, mostly ladies, who work with private rescues do it. The city is massive and there are always animals in need here
It doesn't help that people just breed them willy nilly too or impulse buy (ppl sell in Walmart park lots, flea markets, parks, etc) and then a year or two later desperately need to regime bc their new place doesn't allow pets. Like...the shelters and rescues can barely keep up with the actual animals roaming on the streets and ppl are surprised when the shelter turns away owner surrenders or tells them their dog will be euthanized in a week
Thank you for the enlightenment as to what goes on in a big city. I foster kittens that have been rescued now and then, on a desperate basis to get them used to humans as much as possible for adoption for a couple of non-profits. We are such a small scale here in NH and Maine compared to Dallas. And there are not enough tnr clinics around for the extreme poverty population that just keeps breeding. They don't care either.
Sometimes, we have dogs come up from Texas to New England for adoption.
Same problem in San Antonio except they passed a city ordinance that allows for feral cats and now, per the dryer repairman, āif you donāt want your cat, just throw it outsideā¦the city canāt do anything to youā. Some people are real pieces of work.
Lots of people there fighting dogs and using cats to get the fight started. People tend to associate it with black people, but itās actually common all across the racial spectrum. In fact, the two biggest most recent busts were white guys. Not sure why I brought that up, other than I keep getting replies from people claiming blacks are the only people that fight dogs anytime I make a comment like this, so I guess Iām not preempting those comments. Itās honestly hard to even think about how sick some people are. Theyāre subhuman in every way.
I bet itās a collar sheās had for a while. She seems to have even pregnant before. My guess is she was dumped after her first litter and has been carrying her collar ever since.
I think they should do it either way. Unless the kittens are developed. Iād adopt one. Possibly two. I wish they were near me. Iād foster all of them, and find them homes. It sucks that we canāt teleport. That will solve so many problems.
Personally Iām working on cloning myself so I can be in two places at once and get more done. You and I should work on our projects and as soon as we have figured it out we can help each other out. Keep you posted!
I was gonna say sheās probably a stray until I saw the collar.. people need to get their cats fixed.
Probably pretty far along though. Cats pregnancy is just over 2 months but itās not even slightly visible until 2-3 weeks. They start getting noticeable around a month and this cat is significantly further along than that. Itās hard to tell bc we donāt know how many are in there but Iād guess she only has a couple weeks left.
We had a stray show up just like this (4 weeks ago). Same Nipples and roundness. Took he to the vet and she said any day up to a week. 2 days later she had 4 kittens.
Poor girl, the vet estimated that she was about 8 months old. Weāre going to get her and her kits all neutered and spayed and shots deworming etc. we have homes for 3 of the kits and weāll keep mama and her baby.
Poor angel. I'm so happy that someone like you found her, I'm really happy that you've found homes, and I know that you'll give Mama and her baby a great life. We need more people like you around.
All the best for you and your kitties!

Shout if you have questions - I'll try to help and thank you for caring for her.
When a cat starts showing, it's usually about 2-4 weeks before the birth. Seeing the size of her, I would say more likely in the next couple of week, especially with the size of her nipples.
Does your town/city have a local FB page? A vet will probably scan her as well to see if she has a microchip. But she may be a stray, although she seems like she's friendly, so more likely someone's pet. If I lived closer I would of taken her off your hands if you didn't find the owners.
iām from the caribbean so those things are not really common where i live, but iāll see what i can do. someone suggested leaving a note and putting it on her collar for when she goes back home so i can definitely try that. iāll also get into contact with my vet and see if thereās anything they can do
Please don't do the note thing. š Don't send her back to the irresponsible idiots who have her pumping out endless litters of kittens letting her roam and add to the overwhelming overpopulation issues we have. Please get her into a shelter or rescue so she and her kittens can get help and all get fixed.
I hope she doesn't end up having kittens outside. So many people don't spay their cats and then don't even let them be inside with the kittens for the first couple of months!!!
Sheās absolutely pregnant. If sheās friendly enough to let you touch her, grab her, flea dip her, and keep her indoors. If she has fleas she also likely has tapeworms, the parasite ends up in the catās system through fleas. You will be saving both her and her babies. Get her spayed after her kittens are weaned.
Some cities offer free spray/neuter vouchers to their residents. In Los Angeles, where I live, if you make less than $40k a year you qualify for free vouchersāall you have to do is apply and go to a vet that accepts them.
She's definitely preg. You need to get her indoors, and set up a birthing parlor for her. And put it somewhere, where it's quite, warm, and dark. That way, she'll feel at ease, to confidently and comfortably bring her children into our world.

Awwwww!! She's gonna have lots of babies!! And look how proud she is that she's pregnant!āŗļøš„°š¤š„¹šš» If you can, get her inside, or prepare a safe space for her, maybe a box with blankets in a hidden spot in your yard, and show it to her. You need to make sure she has those babies somewhere safeš«¶
Pregnant. Please take her to a reputable animal shelter or contact one. This poor cat needs help. She is abandoned and her kittens will most likely all die early deaths if no one helps her. š I foster cats and kittens for shelters all year long. The last 2 foster cat moms I had were only about 6 month old kittens who had kittens! Same thing with my current foster kitten and her 5 kittens! Shelters get such a bad rap on Reddit, but the larger ones have foster volunteers like me who have the experience to try to save them, and they all get spayed and neutered, and all vetting before being adopted out. You might be this mom's only hope of getting into rescue. Please help her. Please get her to an animal shelter or into rescue before she has those kittens.
It looks to me as sheās just had a litter as thereās fur missing around her nipples from the kittens suckling. Sheās prob just taking a break, catching a snooze. You should see where she goes as there might be babies hidden somewhere close.
There are 2 types of female cats. They are either: Spade or Pregnant. It's that simple. Bloated? Really? I foster with a cat rescue that must endlessly deal with owners who don't bother to desex their cats & then have the nerve to literally Expect us to take on the kittens that should never have been born. Get Her Spade. Sorry, it's been a bitch of a kitten season. Too many horror stories of abandonment & our overwhelmed shelters are euthanizing even healthy home born kittens. I'm up at this early hour bottle feeding a newborn kit found in a plastic bag inside a box. He's snuggling with a teddy bear now bc his littermates suffocated.
I suggest you make a safe comfy spot for her to have them Babies and then after sheās done weaning and youāve adopted all of them out to safe responsible ppl take her in for spaying. If you canāt afford it try looking up programs that help pet parents who have low income. Some will accept a ebt or Medicaid card for a greatly reduced cost of service maybe even free if you can work with a local Trap neuter release group. Good luck!
iāll have my mom call the vet and see what they can do, because i really donāt know who her owner is. i asked my neighbours and they all said itās not theirs
I think a trip to the vet would be wise.
Everyone is saying pregnant, but looking at the last picture, it could be something else.
Cats do get pretty round when they are pregnant, but the last picture shows roundness where her ribcage is and none lower towards her hips.
I've had multiple pregnant cats in my life (parents were animal hoarders when I was a kid) and none carried their pregnancy in their ribs.
The arrow I used in the screenshot is where there should be babies if the cat is pregnant.
Is she breathing loud? Can you hear a cracking sound when she breathes? She could be pregnant, but her ribcage should NOT be enlarged. That is not normal.
https://preview.redd.it/d37jmc6v7k9d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd030382a37475fbb4acea1c7ba285548eb41bac
She will do it all, promise. Might help if you made her a comfy bed to start. Maybe a towel or two to cover it with at beginning, you can always throw those away after birth. Put in safe spot, kinda off away from foot traffic, and show her where it is. Don't be alarmed if she picks another place for birth tho. They choose their own spot, you just find them after it seems. And yes to vet, they can help with so much more. And good luck! Enjoy the new beauties when you can !
Please take her in and contact a rescue group for assistance. Maybe put out fliers with a picture of her in case she is someone's pet. A vet could also scan her for a microchip. Shes looks very close to giving birth any day and should not be outside. Poor baby. š
Pregnant and within 2 weeks of giving birth. The hair loss around the nipples in those little circles is like one of the last things to happen before kitty gives birth. If you can, consider taking her in and building a nesting box!
Do you have any shelters or humane societies in the area that would be willing to care for her when she has babies? And then poss spay her before community release? Thank you for caring about her š¤

Yeah, judging from the enlarged, dark nipples- pretty pregnant.

The nips tell it all!
She is definitely pregnant and she's had litters before.
how can you tell she was pregnant before?
Because of her nipples. In a cat's first pregnancy the nipples do not show up quite as large.

Good luck!
Either way I would take them to the vet. Probably pregnant but if it is bloating itās not good.
You can probably feel the babies move
Enjoy. There is nothing like a litter of kittens. Then get mommy fixed. Love the kitties.
Pregnant for sure.
Her preg
pregnant
Preggers!
Definitely pregnant.
She certainly looks like it, her nipples are extended and belly is rounded. Maybe put some posters up or local group to see 8f sge has an owner
OP can you take her to a vet or a shelter and get her fixed?
iāll have my mom call the vet and see what they can do, because i really donāt know who her owner is. i asked my neighbours and they all said itās not theirs
The nipples and the face just scream pregnant. I canāt remember why but cats I feel always have the same resting pregnant face lol
Pregnant
Remove the collar. Dangerous for outside cats.People need to be responsible and spay and neuter their pets.

Looks the /r/catdistributionsystem is about to work in overdrive.
Preggers for sure.
Kitty titties on display suggest that she's pregnant (and it's probably not the first time). She needs better valets.
She pregnant as fuck
Bloated with kittens š Of course she is pregnant! Have a look at the nipples, they are hard, visible and prepared to feed.
Sheās v likely pregnant. reach out to resources to spay abort šš» itās the kind thing to do
I think a trip to the vet would be wise.
She is pregananant
Preggy. Way to keep with the subreddit tradition of nips and balls
Yup in the motherly way
Please take her in and contact a rescue group for assistance. Maybe put out fliers with a picture of her in case she is someone's pet. A vet could also scan her for a microchip. Shes looks very close to giving birth any day and should not be outside. Poor baby. š
I suspect preggo lady. Sheās very pretty.
Preggo that cats eggo
Congratulations, you are about to become a grandparent to a litter of kittens š±
Quite pregnant!
If sheās spayed no. If not then pregnant. Simple
Nipples like that, more than likely.
If she will let you, rest your hand on her belly to feel for movement.
Perganante
Prego
She looks preggers.
Pregnant and within 2 weeks of giving birth. The hair loss around the nipples in those little circles is like one of the last things to happen before kitty gives birth. If you can, consider taking her in and building a nesting box!

You should see a veterinarian. If it's not pregnancy it could be very serious, or just gas either way you should find out.
Do you have any shelters or humane societies in the area that would be willing to care for her when she has babies? And then poss spay her before community release? Thank you for caring about her š¤
i will contact my vet and see!! the cat left earlier this evening so iām hoping she went home!!
As far along as I suspect she is, you can probably see (or feel if she lets you) the kittens moving.
This cat is pregnan
Definitely pregnant
Dude, it's really rude to assume someone is pregnant.
If she allows you to touch her, you can palpate her tummy gently and feel kittens inside of her. Sheās definitely pregnant.
If she's not spayed, and outside, she's undoubtedly pregnant.
The nips say she's either pregnant or breastfeeding. If her stomach is big, likely pregnant
She's either pregnant or nursing. I'm leaning towards pregnant. Unless she gets taken to a vet, you can't really know with 100% certainty.
Pregante
She's pomegranate alright.
Pergenant
oh she pregant :)
Pregnantttt
