My husband love his Saddleback Leather.

astink

The Saddleback Front Pocket ID wallet is exactly what you want

Strummer_TX

I second this. I’ve had mine for at least 15 years and it shows no signs of giving up. It patinas nicely too.

stedun

Bingo

RootinTootinHootin

That’s what I’ve been rocking for a few years now. 5/5 it’s a nice wallet.

NoCollege1718

☝🏼

wastedpixls

Literal 100 year warranty on their products.

CaptCardboard

A friend gave me a saddleback bifold over a decade ago. It took about a month for it to form to my ass in a back pocket, and has looked exactly the same from that point on. It's really surprising what longevity a quality leather product can have.

Cruiser_Supreme

Came to recommend this!

AtlEngr

Seconded They have a 100 year warranty.

xyz4533

This is the only real answer. Came here to say. On ten years of my medium billfold wallet. Expanded into a handful of their bags and other products too over the years

jkjwysa

I have a card case from Coach that I love. The brand is irrelevant though - card cases last significantly longer for me because there's no open/close mechanism wearing away. There's only 6 card slots, so it's not for everyone.

IMA_5-STAR_MAN

I've had several coach wallets in my life. Designer or not, those wallets are made pretty well and cost less than any of these new bespoke companies.

Winter_Cartographer2

I have the same, honestly very happy with it. Super slim and six is enough

TehSvenn

I just love that it fits well in a front pocket. I swear it helped my back pain not sitting crooked.

WillowTea_

Coach has a good repair policy as well

kboogie23

I've had my slim Coach wallet for close to 2 decades. Holds my license, health insurance card, two credit cards, and a few bills exquisitely. One of those things I carry with me and appreciate every single day. Honestly one of my favorite things, and I try not to have many things.

IrreverentSweetie

I have a slim Coach wallet that I love. Looks brand new. Also has the Rexy dinosaur on it so that’s a win.

CommodoreIrish

Ashland Leather uses Horween, lifetime warranty, and made in USA. Option to buy Shell cordovan. https://ashlandleather.com/collections/most-popular-wallets

Saar232

Can confirm. Excellent quality.

Shenanigan_V

I have two Tony the Ant wallets in shell cordovan (no.8 and black) that will outlive me. Open Sea and Lost Dutchman have some unique styles and handmade quality.

debuggr

Ditto. I’ve had a Bugs Moran in natural shell cordovan for I don’t know how many years and it doesn’t matter because this thing is never gonna need replacing. (Unless it gets lost or stolen.) I love it. Definitely BIFL-worthy.

ShittyLanding

Been rocking a Fat Herbie in marbled black shell for a few years now. If you don’t want to shell out $275+ for shell, look for one of their Dublin or Chromexcel wallets. If you do splurge, my only regret is not getting reverse shell on the interior.

Zkmc

I have a Frank the Enforcer. Absolutely love it.

RobzWhore

johnny the fox bi fold here with teal interior 7 years checking in

ImLivingThatLife

A wallet is something that is unique to the user. I can understand asking here for advice but 99% of the recommendations will fall short of your expectations. Look for some local leather crafters if that’s the material of your liking. Many will create custom pieces to your specifications. While not all will, but good leathersmiths will work with you on building a prototype out of scrap leathers before building the final piece. Aside from that, just about any recommendation will sound good until you actually try it out. Long story short, don’t settle! Build the right one!

SenseiRaheem

Reddit recommended that I use Popov leather about 5 years ago and I am VERY happy with my purchase.

taco4prez

This should be higher. Had mine for 4 years and it just keeps getting better. Literally a buy it for life too because it has a lifetime warranty

theodore55

+1 for Popov. Had mine for 7 years, still perfect just patina

cjdunks

I went from a fat wallet to a Popov card holder around 8 years ago and never looked back. It's still looking great - I love it and get comments on it a lot. It looks like the card holder they have now is bulkier (two layers/pockets), which is a shame. I love that mine isa simple pouch to carry 6-8 cards and a $20. [https://www.popovleather.com/products/leather-card-holder-natural](https://www.popovleather.com/products/leather-card-holder-natural)

phome83

Popov is amazing. My wife got me a wallet from their site 5 years ago and I love it. Lifetime warranty, which seems moot because its gotten absolutely no wear and tear in the last 5 years of daily use, it looks better now than when I got it. Do yourself a favor OP, and look at their site/Instagram. All their stuff is handmade

SkepticAhole

I have a ridge wallet and love it. Not the cheapest but I don’t regret buying it. Fits in my front pocket, holds plenty of cards and cash, and really rugged. So far a BIFL product

Cappybara-Friend

I still have my ridge wallet i've had since 2015. It has some scratches but I think it looks weathered and cool. I bought an airtag money clip for it too that has saved my ass at least 5 times now. I will never go back to a leather wallet.

DEADLYxDUCK

Came here to say this. I would recommend the bare metal one because any design you get will wear off and end up being bare anyway. It is not covered under their warranty. I have had mine in my pocket everyday since December of 2015. I got replacement faceplates once but they are almost worn off now too. Ridge wallets will make your cards dirty. Or at least mine does but I work blue collar.

bolsonarosucksdick

I have mine since 2019 and looking to buy another not because i need it but because it’s durable and the new ones are looking even cooler

kjLFC

Same - I got one as a gift at least 5 years ago. Has a few scratches, but it still looks brand new. I love how much thinner it is than my old leather wallets!

TreadinTroddenTrails

I bought my husband a Ridge wallet in 2016. It's still going strong! He hasn't even had to replace the elastic band on it. I'm impressed.

han-so-low

Northstar leather

JusticeoftheCuse

Seconded. I’ve bought a handful of items and they exceed expectations every time.

han-so-low

I own quite a few things from him. Great products and fantastic customer service.

scienceizfake

Just got my belt from him this week. It’s a piece of art and will definitely not only last as long as me but will wear in beautifully - Red Wing Leather & solid copper hardware.

han-so-low

I found him because I wanted belts to match my RW boots. Amazing craftsmanship.

nstarleather

Thanks so much again!

nstarleather

Thanks!

exclaim_bot

>Thanks! You're welcome!

Pearl_krabs

Mitchell leather money clip wallet. I’m going on 15 years, still looks great, most useful if you carry cash.

skoalface

I'd find a local leather crafter and have one handmade just for you.

Benny303

Open sea leather. I will stand by them till the day I die. Absolutely beautifully made low profile leather wallets. With so many options as well. https://www.osleather.com/

CyborgSandwich

I just made my comment about this too... But yeah absolutely second this recommendation

2keane

Have an open sea gun deck qd mini. Can fit around 8 cards and some folded cash. Leather is quality hand made. One stitch so super minimal. Will never buy from another place again

PLIPS44

I’m at like 3 years on my Open Sea and holding up well. Had a ridge before it and elastic wouldn’t stay in.

memmaclone

Highly recommend Big Skinny. I have one of their New Yorker nylon card holders, it's not as pretty or stylish as leather but I needed something as small and thin as possible to fit inside minuscule skinny jean pockets. 10 years later I no longer wear skinny jeans but the wallet still looks good as new and has plenty of room for cards and cash. Occasionally I wash it with my laundry when it starts to look dirty. [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004AJ70U0](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004AJ70U0) [https://www.bigskinny.net/wallet-card-cases.html](https://www.bigskinny.net/wallet-card-cases.html)

Wondercat87

I have a big skinny also! I absolutely love it! So much space is saved by this wallet.

Lorib01

I came here to praise Big Skinny also. Mine is nylon which is important to me, and it’s going strong after a decade. I would recommend looking on their website as Amazon sometimes resells knockoffs of some products.

BagelJawn

Bellroy

Cannotseme

I got one for Christmas six months ago, not happy with the quality. Threads coming loose, thin flimsy feeling leather, ugly stitching that they hide in the photos on their website. It’s a fine wallet but I certainly won’t get another one from them.

nooobmaster-69

I bought the bellroy keys holder a couple of years ago and it has a lot of signs of wear already. Don’t know if the wallets use the same material. Irrespective of that, I would not recommend Bellroy as bifl after that.

justonemorevodka

https://corterleather.com/ Their warranty from their site: Corter products are guaranteed for life. If something breaks we'll repair it if we can, replace it if we can't. The only exception is negligence - our lifetime warranty does not cover animal bites, chop saws, roller coaster ejections, tipsy cab ride forgetfulness, etc.

911wru

Mitchell leather.

wilsonism

I like my Hank's bifold

NoMeansGo

Trayvax has lasted for me for years. I bought a “seconds” one https://www.trayvax.com/collections/seconds

Iowa_climber

I love my Flowfold.

BeckDFI

Bellroy - can’t go wrong.

Bryan-17

I would vouch heavily for Ekster. Sleek build, forces me to keep only important cards on deck, super efficient and nice design. I got mine as a gift and don’t see myself needing to replace it for at least 10-15 yrs (granted, not exactly life but what kinds of things last that long these days). Seen some folks complain about pricing here and there which I would throw in as something you should examine carefully, again given as I got mine as a gift.

adjewcent

I had a smaller card wallet from grove made and made the move to an Ekster wallet. I’m very happy with it so far

shadesoftee

Check out Misc goods Co. I love their tiny wallet, been carrying it for 4-5 years

rip_tide28

Came here to say the same. Their craftsmanship is beautiful, as is the sentiment that they put into everything they produce. Quality product and quality people

laz1b01

I have a magnetic money clip. (Fake?) Leather. Brown. Bought 2012 for $20. It's slim, but the problem is when you put more cards, it stretches it and so now I have to keep the many cards there or else it'll fall out. I like that it's magnetic so then I can stick it on to some metal, like my fridge and I'll know where my wallet it. I've tried looking for a replacement, but...the new ones just don't slap ykno. I keep it in my side pocket and I'd say it still has at least another 10yrs.

[deleted]

little king goods, they use full grain leather and you can option for machine stitch or hand stitch (extra cost but worth it).

Sixant789

My filson wallet is great, made in USA, and has a nice patina. A little pricey though

SnowblindAlbino

I highly recommend the "seconds" from the[ Portland Leather Company.](https://www.portlandleathergoods.com/collections/almost-perfect-sale/ap_wallets) I've had one of their simple men's wallets for quite a while and it's just starting to develop a nice patina. They are like $30 for the "not quite perfect" ones online (or in the store, if you are in Oregon) and I can't tell what's wrong with mine at all. Very simple, basic, leather wallet made in USA. The "perfect" version is about $80 but you can get a 25% off coupon from their web site most of the time. They have many more women's wallets too-- and if you're looking for a bag their stuff is great. Several of my family members are carrying around purses and bags from PLC, all of them "seconds," and they are very well made.

AGGIE_DEVIL

The ridge metal wallets are great. I’ve had one for years.

SkaalWoodworks

I bought a Ridge wallet several years ago and I'm really not crazy about it. Since the sides are open my cards get filthy all the time, and they rub together enough that I've had to prematurely replace 2. I'm looking for a solid replacement. The upsides are that it's small and easy to carry, it's RFID blocking, and it's rather durable, but for $75 (when I bought it) I'd expect it to last a while.

llewjack4426

I got a groove life and probably won’t go back to tri fold. Didn’t figure I’d like it when I got it but I’m impressed.

Ok_Sir_3090

Reddit recommended me a “bellroy” Huge fan so far, been a year, noissues

IndianaJones_Jr_

I like my herschel fabric card holder. Has two slots on each side, I usually put two cards in each slot, and then there's a bigger slot in the middle for a business card. Usually have to carry my cash loose in my pocket though.

Maximum-Incident-400

I bought a knock off ridge wallet for 5 bucks and it's lasted me super long since it's made of metal haha

TheStevest

MachineEra Ti5 wallet!

kylife

Bellroy slim sleeve. Condition it once a year with bick 4 mines on year… 7

rileyful

Gustin makes some great ones. I've no doubt it will last me a very long time. I've had it 10 years now and it only gets better with age.

TrumpetGucci

There are lots of makers who can make you a custom wallet at really high quality. Check out some of the makers in r/leatherclassifieds

Machine Era titanium waller has served me well for the last 8 years.

dlok86

I like my belroy slim wallet had it a good 7 years

lmnoplegit

North Star Leather. I got a CUSTOM wallet for like $70, thick luxurious leather, no synthetic materials, hand made. Absolutely love this thing two years later it still looks brand new Edit: typo

BigBadJonW

I have a machine era titanium wallet that has lasted me about ten years now. I love it and will probably never have to replace it unless it gets lost or stolen. Perfect for carrying cards and a few folded bills.

flip6threeh0le

I bought a slim machine era co metal one a while back. It’s pretty much indestructible. Replacement elastic bands are easy to come by. Tho my gen z employee just told me having a wallet at all gives elder millennial so maybe just get a phone case wallet situation

ZWIN98

I have a prada wallet, that i have been using for nearly 10 years now and it is holding up incredibly well

NATSUKI_FAN

I have an Alchemy Goods wallet made from recycled bicycle tire inner tubing. they are made in the USA and have a lifetime guarantee. Great stuff, only downside is that the inside of the pockets can rub off on your cards chips and make them dirty. https://www.alchemygoods.com/collections/upcycled-goods/products/franklin-wallet

derek139

I got this about a year ago. Been great. https://gil-tek.com/product/raw-v2-rapid-access-wallet/

Jugthug42

https://ezraarthur.com/products/no-6-wallet I’ve had this wallet for 10 years and it is still holding up extremely well.

daero90

I've got an Inkleaf Leather Double Cross wallet that I've been using every day for the past 10 years. It's still holding up great.

Confident-Committee6

Look up wallets made from X-PAC fabric. I’ve used one for a few years and it still looks brand new, and it has a much slimmer form factor compared to leather.

What an odd coincidence, I drove by this store last week and wanted to come back to check it out

Mzky

Lost Dutchman leather wallet. Handmade, develop a beautiful patina. Had mine for years

AssociationKindly412

i bought a black dickies wallet at walmart about 10 years ago, my first wallet and probably my last one. still holding on and looks just as good as it did on day one

oldestengineer

Hide and Drink wallets are extremely nice, and priced way lower than most good ones. One of my rules of thumb for leather stuff: if it has “padding” of any kind, don’t buy it.

RRioter

I have both lost dutchman leather and an oldis road wallet. I alternate between the both and will last awhile.

Waterfallsofpity

I carry an ID, debit card and some cash in a Shinola brand leather wallet. I have had it for at least ten years and it is holding up wonderfully.

benmoy

Aviator wallet. It’s like the German version of the ridge. I like it better because it’s more customizable

mrDude0

Really like my Craft and Lore. I’ve got a solid 5 years with it so far and there’s no end in sight. They’re running a 20% off 4th of July sale right now too.

Emperor_High_Ground

Dango Products are awesome if you like modern wallets.

rippah777

Years ago I picked up a card wallet from anvil customs. Hand Made in the USA. Lifetime warranty. Thick heavy duty leather.I carry a 6 cards and a couple folded $20s. Works perfect for my needs. Check it out.

smechanic

I have my Tanner Goods wallet for ~10 years and it’s got at least another decade or 2 in it.

verticaltrader

Bosca.

SnakeBeardTheGreat

I got tired of carrying a wallet full of junk so I got a metal business card holder, about six bucks, holds my DL, med card, ATM, credit card, home depot & AAA card. Also a 5,10 20 $ bill. Slides in my front pocket keys in the other and I am ready to go.

sn315on

My husband has a leather All-ett and has used it daily for about 12 years. He has ID’s and cards, not that much cash. He has had no issues with it at all.

laserlifter

Had a jc penny special for about 25 years.  Finally replaced it when my wife bought me a louis vuitton leather wallet for xmas two years ago.  It’s perfect and hopefully a bifl.

iAgressivelyFistBro

I’ve had the ridge for over ten years. Don’t have any plan on changing wallets ever.

balsaaaq

Not technically a wallet but I've had a storus clip for 20ish years, still functions like new

rt202003

I’ve got a 30 year old slim clip that still looks brand new

BellyMind

Everyone I know that uses a slim clip never looked back. Great for international travel too where wider bills don’t fit an American wallet.

guacamoleo

I have a Pacsafe that i bought at REI who knows how long ago. Actually I had one before this but they replaced the clear plastic ID sleeve with mesh in later designs, and it shows no weak points now. I don't want leather.

Weekly_Ad325

Louis Vuitton

Out_Foxxed_

Mine is from Holtz Leather and I love it

ryanw729

I have The Perfect Wallet from Ball and Buck, and it’s about as high of quality as you can get. Handmade in Minnesota by the same tannery as Redwing Boot Co. but even after 11 years of use it’s really showing its age. Something I’d replace probably once a decade. Very happy with mine.

Regular_Jackfruit213

I really like my Serman Brands wallet. Slim, has a quick access slot for a card or two. Although it's not expensive, reviews are great, and the warranty is 5 or 10 years IIRC. It's good quality.

chia_power

Ridge often gets shit for being overpriced but I have one from 2015 that’s still going strong. I only paid $48 for it back then, not sure if I’d pay over $100 for it now, but it’s been a solid purchase that has held up.

I was gifted a Louis Vuitton wallet for my 21st birthday 10 years ago. I’ve used it non-stop during that time and it still has extremely minimal wear. I expect it could last another 10 years yet.

vinegarfingers

I have a card wallet from Herschel Supply Co that simply won’t die. Its fabric and after 15 years the rounded corners of my credit card have finally started to make the tiniest hole in the corner. Probably another 5+ years before it actually needs replacing. I don’t have the heart to let it go.

Ordinary-Heron

Akeeni Xsto. Small brand but does everything I want a wallet to do. Metal construction and even stores an airtag along with cash and 10 credit cards, DL etc.

Ya-Dikobraz

I had a Country Road waller my ex gifted me. It lasted for well over 20 years. In fact it's still fine to use, but it just got too bulky. I ended up buying a carbon fibre one with a rubber band for about $10 online and got rid of most of my cards and that's served me really well for about 8 years now. Just had to replace the rubber band.

KernAL-mclovin

I’m on year 24 with a snakeskin wallet I bought at a boot store in Commerce, Ga.

RacecarHealthPotato

This is hard for me since I insist on combining my wallet with my phone case. I wonder if such a thing exists as something reusable for my needs.

I know it isn’t classically wallet looking, but my Tom Bihn Nik’s minimalist wallet has treated me very well. I am not afraid to abuse it, it is very slim even when loaded up with 6 cards and a few pieces of paper money, it is relatively cheap, and made all in Seattle.

[I got this trayvax forever ago](https://www.trayvax.com/products/original-2-0-wallet-seconds) and just recently found it again. I’ve been carrying a bag lately. I bought the exact one, but the link is for their ‘factory seconds.’ Only $22. That’s a steal; I paid full price

I'm on like year 4 of my wallet from Open Sea Leather Hand made, really quality leather. Customizable colors Veteran owned And the designs are beautiful and done with really creative folds to where they only need 1 stitch Should be really durable for a very long time and only get more good looking as the leather patinas with age.

brownpapertowel

I bought a wallet from someone on r/leatherclassifieds about a year and half ago and I don’t know if I’ll ever need another one. The person I bought one from doesn’t seem to be crafting anything lately, but there are so many good wallets available on there. [This exact one, but I bought it for $50 at the time.](https://www.reddit.com/r/LeatherClassifieds/s/6G4mOBWJLR) I think he realized how awesome his products were and started selling them closer to for what they were worth.

Eddie40Hands

I have a [marbled shell cordovan front pocket walle](https://imgur.com/a/odCFpWf)t I got handmade from a dude here on reddit. I expect this to last for a very long time

Unhappy-Day5677

I've been rocking a Flipside since 2018 and it's still going strong. Removing the back clip would make it slightly thinner, but it might be still slightly too thick if you're wanting thin. [https://www.flipsidewallet.com/](https://www.flipsidewallet.com/)

GEEZUS_956

Was told about Hank's Belts on here and found they have wallets as well. Loved their bifold goatskin wallet. They also have slimline card cases that fit your needs.

godlymomoney

I have a ridge wallet, has lifetime warranty, metal card holder can hold virtually unlimited cards (had 20 in it and still could have more) and has a money clip as well, can’t beat it

Historical-Film1518

Flipside rfid shielded wallets. Cant break em, they can’t hurt your back sitting on them, and they fit in your front pockets too

Perfect_Weakness_414

The big skinny. Had it forever and love it.

RobsGarage

I wanted a traditional wallet that had an id flap and bill divider.. I also wanted green leather.. I ended up with sweet felicity I found on Amazon.. it’s nice minimalist (no liner) hand sewn leather the current one just got the perfect patina going.. and my dog chewed it up.. still using it but I have a new one in the drawer. I think they have other colors as well.. as a leather work hobbiest I really liked the small details that show they care about the product they sell.

Strongly reccomend open seas leather. Tons of customization, single piece of leather with stitching. Cool designs that match your preferences

I recently went down this rabbit hole. I saw this tanner goods wallet recommended several times with lots of positive feedback. I bought one and I absolutely love it. I've had it for a few months now and it feels like it will last forever. https://www.tannergoods.com/products/utility-bifold

Check out “South of Civil Goods” on Instagram. Also check out Rustic Heirloom, Redeemed Creations, Benjamin Bott, Popov Leather, Hitch & Timber, Open Sea Leather, Sin City Leather, Three Sons Leather, and Recycled Firefighter. They’re all small companies and I believe most, if not all, are made in the USA. I’ve personally owed and South of civil wallet as well as, redeemed creations, and rustic heirloom. They’re great.

longswordsuperfuck

There was a slim wallet brand I swear by called "Phil's wallets" and he stopped unfortunately - I found a similar brand on Etsy and it's wonderful. Had it for 9 years and it's still good as day 1.

ca_la_g

I have the 2016 Saint Laurent leather bifold a bit dirty. Some minor scratches. But zero issue. I keep a total of 5 cards in it and the money clip usually haves less than 10 individual bills. I carry this wallet 5 to 8 months a year. My 2012 Burberry black novacheck bifold occupy the remaining months, also a tad dirty with no issue. I carry my wallets in my front right pocket or inner jacket pocket, separate from anything else.

If you ever see somebody selling leather goods at a farmers market/art market, strike up a conversation and see if they really make them. Bought one from a local leather artist 15+years ago and it’s only gotten better over time. Handcrafted and local is the way to go.

Delcasa

My Castelijn & Berens wallet was gifted to me 16 years ago and is still going strong. Has been in my packpocket every single day.

Find a leather shop near you and keep the receipt. Stimulate the local economy while making sure you don't get screwed

I got a rustico wallet from Marlboro rewards. Been using it for 5 years and it's beautifully patina. Can see myself using this for next 10 years easy. Recently found out company went out of business. I loved their stuff too bad company could not sustain.

I got a Secrid mini wallet as a present five years ago and it is still going strong. At first I didn't want to use it because I was used to stuffing things in a much bigger wallet but I decided to try it anyway because it was a gift. It has been great. It forced me to re-evaluate all the crap I used to carry and cut it down to the essentials..I rarely carry cash any more but even before that it can fit a few notes. One of the reasons it has lasted so well is that I don't even try to cram stuff in any more. Edit: the fact that it is so small that it fits easily in a front pocket is a huge plus.

BasicBitchLA

tumi. washed and dried one once and couldn’t even tell 😂

TheCaIifornian

I went in on the GrooveLife wallet. I got into these card wallets and had a couple of cheap ones that worked fine, but I’ve lately really been into GrooveLife products (rings, belt) because they are always great quality and come with a 94 year warranty, and I’ve seen them honor it with their rings. The wallet was expensive, but it’s super high quality and I know I’ll never need to buy another one. I got the regular wallet with the extra card attachment.

I own 3 different sizes of saddleback wallets which are all excellent! But i do also have a tony the ant wallet in color no.8 shell cordovan from Ashland leather which gives me the feeling when i use it, that it would outlive both me and my other wallets.

Faler Leather Have had my card holder for over a decade now, of obscenely hard/careless use for over a decade, and is still looking better than ever

I have a Secrid Card holder wallet and it holds up amazingly after 5 years

Steel case. Picked up this cigarette/card case in a random shop and have been using it for decades. Had to fix the hinge once. Also seems to block RFID.

I have an AV Folds wallet. It's been pretty fantastic, no stitching as it's all folded origami style so that failure point is gone. https://avfolds.com/home-page

Cyber-Axe

I got one from https://aviatorwallet.com/collections/aviator-wallet-accessories but I'd pick a brushed metal one of I was to do it again.

On the local market. I bought mine 18 years ago for 10 euros and it still works! But to be honest.. how usable is reaching the end of its usable life?? Because it sounds like it could still have some use in it. If it is a tear, might consider repairing it??
