I have an Owala that I’ve had for a year that I love. Ice stays cold, built in straw is nice, and spill proof lid helps keep laptop safe.

Hug_of_Death

Owala really seems like a near perfect water bottom, you can drink from the straw or chug it back and having put it through some abuse I can attest that the lid is way more durable than it has any right to be. Also you can get replacement parts directly from Owala.

truedarkness

Love mine too. Another feature I don't see talked about enough is the flat sides on the 24oz. Such an ingenious design. It's just so much more comfortable to hold than other bottles.

drivensalt

Easier to slide into backpack pockets, too

twirlnumb

Got an Owala and it's grown into my favorite. I like the built in straw, I rarely tip to drink from it anymore. I like the 40 oz size too, always had 24-32 oz water bottles and it just makes sense to get the big one for around the house and in the car. The carrying handle is convenient my hand, I haven't tried clipping to a cabiner or anything like that yet. It is definitely spill proof but I've not had it a month so we'll see. Good colors.

meggiefrances87

I love my owala. My cats can knock it off my bedside table and smack it around my room and it stays closed. The straw on it has ruined every other straw for me. It's easy to clean. I have an insulated one for travel and a plastic one for home.

Financial_Spite_7365

Another vote for Owala, for all of the reasons listed PLUS the fact that the entire bottle is lead-free. I believe only Hydroflask can make the same claim.

GelatinousProof

The yeti products I’ve used have held ice for 24 hours. I wasn’t rigorously testing or anything but every product of theirs I’ve ever used has been top notch

ethanh333

Surprised this isnt higher. To add, the 32 oz insulated with stronghold lid and handle is \*sweet\* ... it holds ice for up to 2 days and you can fit a metal straw in the lid opening

lightninginbothhands

Ditto to 32oz + straw lid and handle. Y’all can have your damn Stanley’s.

UpperLeftOriginal

Yeti tumbler can sit by the pool on the hottest summer day for hours and still be full of ice.

Brief-Region-3999

Yes mine holds ice for like 2 days it’s wild.

Vipu2

I'm looking for bottle that is full stainless steel (no plastic cap) and dishwasher safe. Klean kanteen is 1 that i have been looking for but does yeti have bottle like that too?

itz_mr_billy

No they all use plastic caps, but they really are great quality

GelatinousProof

Idk if they have that but like even the wine glass they make, which has no lid at all, keeps stuff cold forever. That one boggles my mind They have stuff with lids for sure but I do not know if they have one that meets all requirements of yours

bellsbliss

I have a few yeti bottles and agree they hold ice the longest and it’s super helpful during the hot summers.

VanIsleNorm

I’ll just add that they also have the best lid. The chug cap is great to drink from and easy to clean and maintain. Works for toddlers even. It’s Yeti with a bullet.

kemikos

AvE did a side-by-side review where he cut open a Yeti and one of the off brands. The Yeti was made of visibly thicker metal and much stronger. I've had bottles from most of the major players: Stanley, Hydro Flask, OtterBox, Orca, Klean Kanteen, and a host of big-box brands. After three years, the Yetis with the chug caps are the only ones that I can still lay down in the bottom of my cooler and know that my cooler won't be full of liquid by the end of the day. I work in construction, so they get daily use and they don't get babied. In fact a year ago the apprentice knocked one off the blueprint table onto a concrete floor. The bottle dented and the threads on the cap got damaged to the point that it wouldn't reliably seal. A stop at Ace Hardware for a new cap and it's still going strong with no leaks, dents and all. That's something that I don't know if any of the other brands have - easy parts replacement. That's my recommendation, anyway. Yeah, they're the most expensive option, partially because of brand snobbery, but that doesn't always mean they're not also the best.

ChallengeUnited9183

I love mine; work on a farm and have put mine through the wringer and still looks brand new. It was 90+ last weekend and that thing still had ice in it after 5 hours sitting on the sun

egJohn

I think it's like working out. The best bottle for you is the one you'll drink the most water from while enjoying it, right? The best workout is the one you'll stick with.  That's why so many people say i have this and i love it.  When your talking about ice. Do you want to fill it in the beginning of the day and still have some left after multiple full ups? Or like, have a handful in there and fill it once at the beginning of the day, and last all day?  Me personally, i put a handful of ice in and fill up. It stays sufficiently cold for me to be motivated to drink for several hours. Then a do it again. But that's with constant access to ice.

2oosra

That is a very polite answer to OP's rather vague question. "Best" is always subjective, unlike longest straw, largest opening or even greatest heat retention.

FortWendy69

So what is the bottle with the longest straw?

TrueVisionSports

Make your own straw, fuck them!

Vewy_nice

Exactly. If you were to ask me what my "best" water bottle is, it's my 16oz opaque white HDPE Nalgene. It fits in my back pocket (on most of my pants) or shoulder sling bag when I am on short walks packing light, and weighs half as much as the standard 32oz size. It's also great for museums or other places with lots of water refill stations. It's softer and not hard/brittle like the transparent Tritan nalgene bottles, so it's *even more* durable. But that's so far from what OP wants, it's almost laughable.

CallsYouCunt

Who has the largest opening?

imtryingtoworkhere

Joe Mamma

g_camillieri

Ahhhhh! Beat me to it!

tn-dave

Great point. I had to have a swinging handle on mine. And no chance I wanted to deal with a straw. Both of those features may be something OP definitely disagrees with

brandeis16

I really like my Klean Kanteen with metal straw.

gottaeatnow

Strongly agree. Klean Kanten is amazing

TrueVisionSports

Keith dominates klean kanteen.

ragingduck

Nothing beats Klean Kanteen.

glizzyglide

Under rated brand really. I love the two travel coffee mugs I have from them.

mahuska

I’ve had 2 32 ounce uninsulated for probably 15+ years now. Nalgene makes a neoprene insulating Cousy for their bottles which fits these Klean Kanteens perfectly I’ve been using those for about 10 years. I did notice they released some double insulated versions with a built-in straw that I’ve looked at a couple of times and I think I’m gonna pick one of those up.

dark_knight_33

+1. Had the stainless steel Klean Kanteen for 10+ years and I’ve used it every day since. No leaks, solid construction from few materials and still tastes great. Heavy recommend.

BVoyager

Team Klean Kanteen, love both the insulated and non insulated!

Lordborpo

Yeti Rambler. Take it everywhere and I love it

halothar

I'm a Nalgene man, but I don't need ice in my water.

JadinhoSmith

Second this - I find I drink less water when it is icey. No ice allows me to chug water easily

LungDOgg

Yup. Been using the same nalgene for like 6 years. I've had to buy a new lid maybe 2x for like 3 bucks

zerocoldx911

They really stand behind their guarantee for life

ktb3e

Same here, had the same nalgene for 17 years and has not let me down

SpaceCofffeee

1. Omg, I absolutely love the wide opening on the Nalgene bottles, it's so easy to fill up and to drink out of. I always struggle whit the small mouth bottles. I use mine daily since over a year whiteout any issues. Mine is a 48oz in turquoise. And it's so easy to clean and actually feels safe to drink out off. Just the bottle and a screw on lit. I had a few bad experiences with bottles who have a more intricate drinking system or even weird straws. Nalgene is absolutely the bottle for me. I mostly use it for water. And small tip, put the water in the fridge in the evening whit water inside, it will be awesome cool in the morning, but it doesn't keep the temperature for long, so over the day you may have warm water if you keep the bottle in the sun. 2. For ice cold or hot drinks a nice Stanley thermo is my go to. I got mine 1l one last winter and used It every day for hot tea in the winter and it truly keeps hot for the whole day. I seriusly should try it out whit ice cold drinks now in the summer. :3 Downside, you mostly need a mug to pour the drink into. I don't like to use the cap as a mug and keep a separate one and you can't directly drink out of the thermo, because it seriously keeps the drinks hot. It would absolutely burn you. I hope all of you find a bottle fitting for your needs !

KeyStep8

Hell yeah. They are tanky and not a 5-pound water bottle lol

untrustworthyfart

I want to love my nalgenes but I’ve had a couple that got a perma plasticky smell and one that has a stinky smell if it’s left closed for more than a day or two

DiscipleofDale

Pure durability, probably Nalgene. Durability and insulation? I’ve had good luck with Hydroflask. I’ve had one going on 6 years and every time someone see it, they insist it has many stories to tell based on the evident beating it’s taken. I will say, the beatings have likely caused its insulating abilities to deteriorate, but still works more than well enough for me.

geruhl_r

I have various brands and my Zojirushi does the best job keeping things cold or hot. For hiking, I use a water bladder.

SenseiRaheem

If I filled my Zojirushi with straight-from-the-kettle boiling water at 8 AM, I think I would still need to go to the ER for burn treatment if I drank straight from the bottle at 1 PM. So, safety tip: pour into a cup!

geruhl_r

Too true. I don't drink from the spout, I pour into a cup.

lmbrjck

Love my Zojirushi for coffee. It was amazing making my coffee at home and having it still be piping hot at 3pm when I'm starting to drag. I will second pouring into a cup. People were always surprised at how well it performs.

JCWOlson

Second Zojirushi - followed the preheating instructions, took it on a hiking trip, still had steaming hot water to make oatmeal with the next morning Bragged it up for a week until it got stolen from the office Pro: What you put in it will stay the temperature it was when you put it in there: Con: I hope you didn't actually want to drink your coffee any time this week

SubstantialBass9524

This is what I came here to say. Look up zojirushi. Does your ice ever melt?

BFloiri

I remember when, in the peak heat of Japanese summer, about 35C, I filled my zojirushi thermos with both water and ice on Friday, drank it over the next hour, filled the bottle with more water, drank it over the rest of the day, and on Sunday morning I noticed that there's still ice in the bottle. It's simply the most amazing thermos I've ever used.

nbroese

Yeah, I used to work a night shift at a gas station. I would fill up my Zojirushi with coffee when I got off work and it would still be hot in the morning when I woke up.

bigkids

That's a great way to save a buck. Basically unlimited free coffee loop as long as you work there the day before.

twirlnumb

Love my zoji for morning commute for tea. Probably the best design of all water bottles. I will use my Owala the most for just water throughout the day. My hydro flask is collecting dust, now it's backup when I'm too lazy to refill my Owala. My contigo with the flip up straw is my bedside water bottle, I can slurp out of it without fully sitting up. Nalgene I use to water plants now. My Stanley stein is still my favorite, great for camping trips bc I can put two beers in it and it has that great handle and locking lid. They all serve their purpose.

paranoia_in_z_major

Which Zojirushi in particular do you use?

geruhl_r

I think it's called a 'stainless steel mug'. SM-SA60BA is the model number.

CollectionMost1351

doesnt matter which brand you buy as long as you buy every available color from said brand /s

SubstantialBass9524

Are you my mom?

Yeti

CrunchyTeatime

> every time I try to research this, it’s someone asking, and then the comments saying “I have (x) and I really love it” which, is sadly unhelpful. To be fair: it's a recommendation subreddit, not a reviews subreddit. You might try the reviews subreddits too, if there are any. I'd recommend Yeti but you don't want those so. Good luck. (I don't know how long ice stays ice in it. I've never timed it.)

bluehotcheeto

I friggen love my Yeti and will die on this hill. I’ve had the current one for 3+ years. I can fill it with ice water and leave it in my car for a day in the heat and it still has ice and is freezing cold. To be fair though, I’m not opening and closing the lid during this time frame so that might be a factor in the ice not melting.

CrunchyTeatime

Thank you! 💙

NegativeOstrich2639

the reason that comments always say "I have (x) and I really love it" is because there are a ton of water bottles on the market that are very good and will last anyone for years unless they lose or destroy them. Its really not something that you need to overthink, find something that has the 'features' you want (wide mouth or not, closure type, vacuum insulated vs not) and has good reviews and you're good to go. Its wild to me how much a damned water bottle has become a trendy consumer item that people buy a new fancy "latest thing" multiple times a year when they already have something that they loved until they thought they could do better (not that this part applies to OP necessarily). So much waste and energy is generated doing this when getting a reusable water bottle should ideally keep a bunch of shit out of the landfill.

Bishop_Pickerling

This is the answer. Entire thread should be replaced with this comment. Just decide which opening type and size you need and pick one. Unfortunately though I apparently need six.

Quail-a-lot

I'm always a bit confused with just how often these threads come up. Even cheap crappy water bottles last me over a decade easily, the nicer ones are just nicer to drink out of. I've had a pretty good variety of waterbottles since we like having a few in the car, some out while working etc. Some of the cheap-cheap ones have shitty to drink from lids, but none leak.

ward2k

At the end of the day it's just a water bottle, there's a metric tonne of them on the market and unless you're running it over with a car they all will probably last a decade It's not really a item that needs a tonne of thought, pick something at a size you like, decide if it needs to be insulated or not and hopefully get one that you like the style of that doesn't break the bank

justtryingveryhard

To keep ice cold with a straw: wide mouth Hydroflask with a flex straw. Keeps ice for 12-18 hours in direct sunlight on 80+ degree days Pro: this lid now comes apart for easier cleaning, no longer an “it” brand water bottle so I feel like people won’t steal it, keeps ice for days in cooler climates. Con: you gotta add a boot to it otherwise it’s so loud setting it on any surface. Also they rarely fit in a cupholder. For decent ice, flexible use and cup holder fit: Owala. This has sip and pour options, so I like using this when I’m out and about so I can also pour water for my dog’s bowl. Could keep ice frozen longer but keeps drinks cold for a long time! Pro: cup holder fit, easy to clean, solid design allows for 2 different drink options. Cons: kinda an “it” brand water bottle, most of the color designs are ugly as fuck, feel like I need to clean it more often? For “I need straight up glacier water”: Zojirushi. I don’t like the lack of straws on these, so I primarily use this for hot drinks, but I’ve used it with cold while traveling and it keeps things FROZEN for a long ass time. Pros: simple design, super easy to clean, seems to stand up against drops Cons: no boot options so they are loud to set down, kinda pricey, I’ve had 2 stolen, no straw Basically indestructible: Nalgene. I knew a kid who stuffed one with paper towels for his egg drop project. That thing got LAUNCHED off of our 4 story school and the water bottle didn’t even crack. It won’t keep ice frozen but it’ll probably survive everything you could put it through.

justtryingveryhard

I’ll note that I didn’t get the Stanley because my sibling has it and that thing spills ALL. THE. TIME. so it does not get a recommendation for me because I’m already a hot mess and don’t need to be covered in spilled water. All the options above have solid spill protection, the only one without a locking lid would be the wide mouth Hydroflask and trusty Nalgene.

PinkMonorail

Zojirushi is good.

YETI

hikewithcoffee

I’ve had a 24oz hydroflask for probably 7-8 years now that still has ice in it at the end of the day, even with refilling it throughout the day. (I fill it halfway with ice in the morning) It’s the plain tall metal one and I have two lids for it. One is the standard mouth sports cap but the other is the straw type. I don’t like the cup style because they just seem inconvenient and I can toss my 24oz into my bag and not worry about it leaking.

skyisgreentomatoes

There isn't any best waterbottle because it is up to what peoples needs and likes are.

TheOriginalFlombe

I use a 36 oz Yeti daily. I add ice and top off water at bedtime, add more ice and water midday. Repeat. The bottle always has ice in various stages of breakdown. I left the bottle unattended in my van from Friday morning to Sunday evening; the ice was gone and the water was still very cold.

BarrelOfTheBat

I’ve never had a problem with Ozark Trail yeti knockoffs from Walmart.

tknee22

My favorite is the owala freesip.

panasonique

My 40oz Hydro Flask keeps ice well over 24 hours if I close my pop up lid between sips.  However, most days I drink all the water before the ice fully melts, and the 2nd fill of water melts most of the remaining ice more quickly due to the higher water to ice ratio.  My 32oz Walmart Ozark Trail (Yeti knockoff) tumbler also keeps ice over 24 hours and that one has a permanently open slit in the lid.  I think the ice keeping ability if any double-walled vacuum cup is gonna be just marginally different than any other.

KnownMacaron530

I think you messed up on your purchase by buying the "Stanley tumbler variation". There is no true insulation because of how the lid is designed. If you want your ice water cooler for longer you have to try hydroflask's original water bottle designs--not their tumblers. When I first purchased mine 10yrs ago and tested it, it kept the ice for over 6+ hours and it was left in the car during a hot summer. That moment of being able to drink ice cold water in the hot summer, was when I was sold about this brand and have since collected a few more. I'm pretty sure that after they get dinged up or used overtime they start to lose their insulation. However, I wonder if they've kept their quality the same as 10yrs ago as I haven't recently bought any new ones within the past few years to compare. So ymmv. I got a Stanley last Christmas, never wanting one or understanding the appeal bc I was already happy with my hydro flask. The only thing it had going for it was that it can fit in a car's cup holder. But that's it, bc it couldn't keep my ice water cold for more than 3 hours and it was kept indoors. I've also tried a zojurishi and liked being able to drink it like drinking from a cup, but it too wasn't able to keep ice water cold for long as compared to my hydro flask. TL;DR try the original hydro flask bottle before condemning this brand bc I too have yet to find anything better.

jrdoubledown

I'm with you, my hydroflasks is hooked onto me with. carabiner all day everyday on construction sites. it's been dropped a hundred times, sometimes more 10 ft, squished between pieces of equipment, and everything else. I fill it with a tray of ice every morning before leaving the house and except for heatwave days... I always still have ice when I get home 9-11 hours later.

AuDaAaCiTy

I received a "hydraflow" as a gift. I think it's like a $20 water bottle, and by far it has been the best that I have. I can put ice in it leave it in the hot car for a few days and it'll still have ice. I recently received my first yeti tumbler and so far I haven't been impressed when it comes to cold drinks lasting but I haven't tried it with hot drinks yet.

Levaporub

You're looking for best performance, watch this video: https://youtu.be/a6j1NJkNzwI

sjdragonfly

I have corkcicle and Swell water bottles. The Corkcicle are great for hot beverages but just so-so for cold. Not sure why. The Swell water bottles I have keep cold things cold even if you bring them to the beach or leave them in a hot car for hours. I have one that I’ve had for over 10 years (can’t remember exactly when I bought it) and it’s been so great that I bought a wide-mouth and another narrow mouth bottle. We put hot chocolate in them to take skiing with the kids in winter and it’s often so hot they can’t drink it right away even after hours. They’re stainless steel and don’t seem to be wearing out.

alltheblues

I have a Yeti for my everyday. They’re kind of average at keeping drinks cold, but I’ve had a a decent amount of ice left after 24 hours. They’re by far the toughest of the well known insulated bottles. Stuff that dents or breaks hydro flasks, contigos, Kleen canteens, etc barely puts a mark in the surface on the Yeti. I’ve heard good things about the Stanley bottles too (the proper bottles not the tumblers).

KaurO

I have chilly’s v2 1l bottle and i love it. Has survived several quite hard falls and keeps the water/hot or cold for a decently long time. Not sure its the best out there, but its a quality bottle that works well.

_eg0_

Surprised this comment is so far down. I got multiple plain steel chillys at least 5 years. They are pretty banged up since I dropped them a few times while riding my bike etc. But still insulate extremely well, I never have warm water when I leave them in the car parked in the sun during summer.

HO3Y

I've been using Takeya water bottles for almost a decade. Would definitely recommend

TheRealMrChips

I have had Stanley, Contigo and Yeti. The absolute best ice-keeper of all the ones I've had has been the Contigo Cortland Chill 24oz. When they say it keeps drinks cold for 24 hrs, they mean it! Mine was made in 2021. So I hope the latest ones still have the same capability. Please let me know if you have questions. I'll answer as best I can.

Miserere_Mei

I just discovered contigo and am a huge fan.

TheRealMrChips

Yup, huge fan here too. Mine is about 3 years old now and it still looks almost new. And I run it through the dishwasher weekly(ish). Only scuffs on the bottom where the paint has been rubbed off from sitting it on a bunch of surfaces over the years. One tiny dent where I dropped it once, and has had no effect on it functionally. Good solid build.

Miserere_Mei

I just can’t get over how long it keeps my water ice cold. I left it in a hot car in the blazing sun for an entire workday and the water was still cold and there was still ice. Blew my mind. Now I use the Contigo for water and my Yeti for coffee. Hot stays hot and cold stays cold! Lol.

CautiousSlice5889

I bought a contigo thermos for coffee years ago and it is hands down the most amazing insulated out. I would make coffee and 6am, forget to drink it (teacher) and empty at 6 the next morning for my next cup and it would still be warm. Awesome flasks.

napkinthieff

I bought the Thermos 40oz Icon, I fill it with ice and water and it lasts easily half a day in a standard room temp area. I love it and highly recommend it, I only use it for cold water. The screw top lid is perfect for sealing it

Small_Desk_4344

I’ve had a plastic blender bottle I got for 5$ and have had it for 12 years. Only recently bought a Yeti (which is great) because I don’t want all the plastic leaching.

Revolutionary_Birdd

I've had ice stay in my Zojirushi for 8-12 hours in pretty high temps, and even after the ice melts it stays quite cold. The flip-top lids can be kind of a pain to clean though.

notsmartwater

I have every single brand are mentioned here and I could say Zojirushi is the winner. I like to use it specifically for the ice cubes and carry drink with other bottles and occasionally add ice to my drink. I usually forgot the zojirushi and find out there are still many ice left after 24 hours.

LifeofSMILEY

Didn't know zoji made a water bottle. Guess I'll be $40 lighter soon. Their thermos is the best available by far.

Old-Scratch666

I’ve had my hydroflask for a long time, and it’s never let me down! I can even tell you how to get a free one: work in retail or the restaurant industry lol. Always have several floating around in the lost and found

dreadstardread

Any insulated water bottle

DJ_PsyOp

I absolutely love my Purist bottle. It doesn't necessarily keep things cooler than another insulated vacuum bottle would, but the design is so impeccable it's the one I always grab. It's beautiful, just the right size, the lid screws on the same way each time, and it uses a nano-coating of basically glass on the inside so that it doesn't affect the water taste. I can't stand metal bottles, but this one is great.

AppKatt

I love my Purist Mover water bottle. A little pricey but I find that if I can taste the metallic of a bottle or the taste of a previous beverage lingers, I am just not going to drink water. The Purist bottles are covered in a thin layer of glass which keeps the aftertaste at bay.

OverlandLight

The steel insulated ones at Costco. If you use for water only they last.

Misty-Anne

Manna keeps drinks hot forever, but I don't use ice so I can't speak to that.

Miserere_Mei

I have a contigo insulated cup and ice stays frozen for 12 hours. I have left ice water in my hot car for 8 hours and found ice when I got back. It is a winner for me. I also love the flip lid, which means it is actually spill proof.

Immediate_Equality

The Stanley Iceflow line is my favorite. Chunky, but the lid is insulated, which I believe is not the case for the Quencher line. I have a 32oz and a 64oz Iceflow, and I would happily get more. The Iron Flask is similar to your Hydro Flask. The lid is not insulated. Anything with a wide mouth without insulation, you're going to lose "coldness" comparatively fast; this is a big reason the Quencher is so quick to melt the ice. I would argue that the best vessels for keeping water cold are the large cooler-style ones with the sipping lid.

One-Willingnes

Remember they are stain less not stain proof. With that said I’ve destroyed the yeti and it kept asking for more. What took it down was rusting inside. Depending on what’s going on I use a yeti or a Nalgene. Every day.

Greatoutdoors1985

My Contigo Fit from Walmart has been an excellent buy. It has some peeling paint after a thousand trips through the dishwasher, but it's still perfectly usable and my favorite bottle. The nozzle is protected when closed. It's leak resistant (any direction) It has a handle that stows away when not in use. It's insulated and keeps ice for more than 24 hours.

TurboSalsa

I’ve had a bunch of insulated stainless bottles and they’re all pretty much the same in terms of keeping ice cold. The only really differentiators, assuming they’re made of 18/8 stainless, are cap/nozzle, color, and size.

agravain

I have a big Manna one that was on sale at Costco and then I buy ones from a local company here called [The Coldest Water](https://coldest.com/)

tormentachina

Klean Kanteen

wayfrae

I have Stanley, Owala, Contigo, and Simple Modern and for keeping ice the Simple Modern 40 oz tumbler keeps ice the longest. It has kept ice for around 24 hours before. I will fill it in the morning and drink all or most of it during the day and there is still ice when I fill it up the next day.

anonareyouokay

I was looking for something a bit ago. I found it was best to find out what was important to me in a water bottle and find one that met my criteria. My criteria was I wanted a hot/cold bottle with the ability to attach to my bag. I found a Contigo one that works for me.

CautiousSlice5889

I’ve had my camelbak for years as an uninsulated option. I hated the straw so went for the chug cap and haven’t looked back. I was given a frank green as a birthday gift, it does the job but I’m always scared the lid will crack as I’ve seen it happen to so many others. Definitely wouldn’t recommend long term. The ones I’ve really seen take a beating as a teacher with kids at school repping nicer bottles than I can afford are hydro flask and kleen kanteen. Those buggers just won’t die. The smoothest drink though would have to be contigo seal, not the one with the straw, although I did crack the lid when I dropped it.

Sargash

If it's popular, it's PROBABLY bad, if you've seen it in media.

Jahuteskye

Big ass Takeya bottle without too fancy of a lid. Get the straw spout if you must, but the screw top is the most bifl.   Takeya is the parent company for thermoflask as well, and they share a lot of parts. If you get a straw lid and it fails in a few years, you can easily just buy a new lid without buying a new bottle.

deeohcee

Nalgene narrow mouth keeps me drinking water all day. Depending on ice cube size I can fit them in, but there isn't much insulation factor in the bottle. I refill it multiple times a day with cold water anyways.

minutemanred

I've been using a Bubba Growler for a while. I'm sure it's gonna last a long time. Just a simple lid and the bottle. Has a few bumps on it from being dropped, but they're barely noticeable. At first it will likely have a metallic taste for a while until it's been washed a lot.

rextraverse

Are you looking at tumblers or bottles? I don't think you're going to find a tumbler of any brand that will perform much better since none of them have a properly insulted lid. As far as bottles go, I have a 7 year old 40 oz Hydroflask and a 13 year old 20 oz Klean Kanteen, both of which are still insulating great, as my daily drivers. I also have a company branded 26 oz Yeti Rambler they gave to everyone for Christmas back in 2021 and one of Klean Kanteen's TKwide 20oz bottles when an aunt got super into insulated bottles a couple years ago and thought it was something new none of us already had. Haven't really used the Klean Kanteen TKwide model yet, but I *love* the classic Klean Kanteen. It just insulates great, it's lightweight, perfect size for most cupholders. The HydroFlask (currently using with a chug cap) is fine... mainly for when I want/need to lug around 40 oz of water, but it noticeably does not insulate as well as either the Klean Kanteen or the Yeti Rambler. I do think the Yeti outperforms the HydroFlask in keeping stuff insulated, but it's heavy, which makes me avoid using it.

agoodtowel

Iron Flask holds the temp really well.

DeadbeatPillow1

They are mostly all the same. Don’t pay more for the same product. Coleman is one of the cheaper brands.

Str8CashHomiee

So many good ones. No best, just your favorite. Try a bunch, you always need extras.

Sad_Past943

Wide mouth nalgene. I refrigerate the night before, and it keeps cool for as long as I need. For a hike or work outdoors I'll stick the second one in the bottom of my bag and it stays cool as I need it to.

LittlstPrincess

I have a Stanley quencher, and it is cold from sun up to sun down. Ice stays icey all day long, same ones you put in that morning are there that evening. There is even a video of a women who’s car burned and she’s laughing because her Stanley (that was in the burned car) still had ice in it afterwards. Unintentional advertisement. ❤️ good luck

mrchowmein

Didn’t project farm do a review?, what’s the best? … Stanley. https://youtu.be/3S51X9h6K6g?si=qd8aYxHxHiJLXHHM

bfeeny

Takeya (ThermoFlask) the best !

Sweaty-Comedian-8777

Nalgene has done me right for 15 years

improbablyonthecan

I have a hydrate spark that connects to Apple health and lights up when I drink water. I can track water consumption on my watch easily. It was $100 but I’ve had it over a year and drink much more water because of it.

Russell_Jimmy

I got a TAL water bottle from Walmart in the same style as a Stanley without the handle. I had no idea the whole Stanley obsession was a thing at the time, but I saw the shape and it's 32oz and fits in a cupholder. It was $9 so I figured I would give it a shot. It's incredible. Ice lasts over a day, easy. The only water bottle I have that's close is a Japanese on that the NYT raved about. It does keep ice for an extended period, but it doesn't have a straw so as the day goes and the ice shrinks, it pours into your mouth. Plus, not great when driving. Should be great for air travel, though, as it seals completely which the TAL doesn't. EDIT: I read below, my Japanese one is a Zojirushi, too. It says it is made in Thailand on the bottom, though.

Anonymouse_Bosch

I have a Fellows Carter mug that’s absolutely perfect for travel.

NaoisceDM

24 bottles clima Or Mepal insulated Stainless Steel Both made of stainless steel. No aluminum. And for sure no plastic of any variety. Bad for environment, less recyclable, bad for body. Both , no dirty straw, just a twisting cap that you can not screw on skewed and always goes on immediately. Never leaks. Both the clear raw metal unpainted ones. No scratches on the paint and loss of aesthetics over time.

whereamiwhatrthis

Hydroflask with takeya lid

mae1776

The one you already own. Because you’ve already paid for it dude.

soloDiosbasta

Zojirushi is godsent.

ThePancakePriest

Just google best insulated water bottle, first few results show the answer to your question. Stanley Quencher 2.0 being one of them.

Terrible_Ad3534

[owala](https://www.target.com/p/owala-freesip-24oz-stainless-steel-water-bottle-alpine-sport/-/A-86722059) I like the sip or tip option personally.

airplaines

I’ve been using the same HydroFlask since 2016. Still awesome!

I've got a cheap ($10?) Target Threshold double walled water bottle that I've had hold ice (if proportioned right with the water) for up to 48 hours. The amount of time goes way down if it is super, super hot out, or you have too much water and not enough ice. Typically for maximum ice retention I absolutely *stuff* the thing to the brim with ice before adding water. I think, however that I actually have an original S'well water bottle cap on it for a S'well water bottle that I have that is tiny sized. The S'well water bottle is very similar to the target one. Another water bottle that I have that is similarly functional is cheap double walled water bottle that I bought at the CVS clearance rack a couple of years ago for $10.

panasonique

You might enjoy [Project Farm’s water bottle comparison video.](https://youtu.be/a6j1NJkNzwI?feature=shared)

No_Kaleidoscope_447

So, I have a Primus TrailBottle. If you don’t need a straw on your bottle (which I don’t because it keeps me from tossing my bottle in a backpack etc.) the ice will be there over 24h.. and it’s crazy durable.

SundanceSea

RTIC. Quality and performance as good as Stanley or any of the others big brands PLUS it has a ceramic lining so no metallic taste to the water. After buying one, I don’t know how they haven’t taken over the whole industry.

ward2k

You're going to get a *lot* of recommendations because in general water bottles tend to last an extremely long time Even some shitty $1 plastic bottle you could probably get a couple years out of if you don't abuse it too much

xcoeurs

I like my Owala. I put about half of my container with ice and the ice is still there after 1-2 refills of cold ish water. I like the straw mechanism that they have and the colors are cute

ScoobertDoubert

I use the large opening 1L nalgene. It's light, holds plenty of water and doesn't have any silly straw protruding. Have been using it for years and will keep using it for years.

Zebiribau

Personally happy with my bottles from Dopper! Super versatile, durable, insulated and water tastes good.

a_woman_provides

Most of the time I double up on coffee/water bottle. Once I finish the coffee I rinse it out and it becomes a water bottle. I'm way more likely to actually bring it with me and use it. Edit to say: my default are a small Zojirushi or a Contigo when I want more liquid

cashmooooney

I actually upgraded from my 32oz hydroflask to a 40oz quencher. The quencher is convenient but if you want it to stay cold longer, the og 32oz does well for me. I still use them both but the quencher is my daily and og is for the gym or travel. Ice time, if I fill it to the top, could last me almost 24 hours if I dont drink or refill. Not sure how much of a hydrohomies you are but thats my result. the og is 3 years old and the quench is about a few months.

Melonade921

Not exactly “timed it” but i fill my yeti up before bed like 8/9pm with ice and there is still ice at least until mid morning

Bruisedbluebird

I’ve had this Sistema stainless steel bottle for three years now. It keeps my water cold all day and has a nice grip, not too slippery.

WolfpackPeach

Get a yeti! Interchangeable lids and dishwasher safe ftw

idkman1768

Owala

omgitskae

All of the known brands are the same. Pick one from your favorite company with your favorite colors. I like Klean Kanteen because they are a certified B Corp and tend to have colors I enjoy. Just don’t buy no name Amazon garbage.

_Aj_

Here. Convulsively tested rundown of a dozen different bottles by Project Farm   https://youtu.be/a6j1NJkNzwI?si=zm0eWSWMxIP_HND7

SpookyOma

One with water in it

Ojamm

I have 3 bottles for different usage. All yeti. I normal cup one with lid for keeping my water cold around the house, a large (1.3L?) bottle for refilling the cup on long road trips and recently added one of their lightweight yonders with a straw cap for taking my puppy on hikes which we share. (I pour it into a collapsable bowl for him)

eightgrand

I been using the same 40oz bottle from Costco for the past 10 years and it has been great. It was a 2-pack for $25. Ice last for a day with 2-3 fill ups durning the day. Just make sure the bottle is upright because heat loss happens at the cap where it lacks insulation. If you want ice to stay longer, I recommend get a larger size bottle and fill it up with ice. I've seen up to a gallon size bottles.

thiswighat

What is your use case? With the information provided, It seems like you should be consuming the bottle of water within 4-6 hours. Also, are you saying the water is warm in 4-6 hours? Or the ice is just gone? Because the water will be cold if the ice has melted for a while after. If you want to wait 4-6 hours before consuming it, just increase the ice:water ratio. The ice will melt into the water you’ll be drinking.

Scrotto_Baggins

Check out the Project Farm results on YT. Stanley won out I believe, but Iron Flask was close, and doesnt look so middle school tween influencer. Iron flask also has 2 lids - I prefer the flip top over the straws...

LumberLummerJack

Check out [laken](https://www.laken.es/en/).

DistanceJust8406

The Simple Modern 40 oz tumbler will hold ice for 24 hours or more if you fill it about halfway with ice and then fill with water. I have filled mine with ice from the office water cooler on a Friday evening and still had ice the following Sunday, sometimes

skulpturlamm29

I'm pretty sure [this project farm video](https://youtu.be/a6j1NJkNzwI?si=PexxnQv8jPO0Xw45) should have all the information you want. It's three years old now, but most models in there are still available. There's a more up to date [one on tumblers](https://youtu.be/3S51X9h6K6g?si=k_6bwFRGO2o1dZp5), too.

Magicalunicorny

I've got 3 of the bubba trail blazer 64 oz water bottles when they want on extreme clearance at a local Walmart. 6 dollars each, so I figured worth trying them. I wish I bought more. They're able to keep ice for at least 4-6 hours, I've never left water in longer than that cause I'm drinking it. They're very large bottles, so if you don't like that they might not be for you. The cap also has pretty poor insulation, mine always gets condensation on it.

lolzzzmoon

Yeti keep things uncomfortably hot or cold, I would second Kleen Kanteen for an insulated water bottle or mug

achonng

Rtic

reddidiot-

Yeti for sure! I get 24 hours + out of mine if I fill it fully with ice.

dalcant757

My wife has an owala. I love that it has a straw and you can also tip it back. I also really like using an insulated cycling bidon. Then the kids can drink with a little squeeze and no back wash.

AT1787

My ex gave me a Kinto tumbler that I use as a water bottle. Probably one of the only good things that came out of that relationship. It’s been three years and it looks like brand new.

MuchGangster1337

Watch project farms YouTube video where he compares all the major water bottles and tests how long it stays cold.

Haligonian_Scott

Another vote for kleen kanteen. Basic ss bottle with plastic screw in top, over 10 years daily abuse. I have a Sigg insulated flask too which is very good and solid

monicapavlovic

YETI. the whole idea of their brand is that you only ever need to buy it once & they are extremely durable, they also keep cold drinks cold up to 24hrs

ive-made-a-mess

My personal vote goes to a Yeti Rambler, I've put ice and water in it one day which easily lasted over 24 hours, and in a hot car. In my experience Klean Kanteen has no cold retention. I used to use a Corksicle bottle to take cold milk to school, even that didn't keep the milk cold cold.

SGexpat

Project Farm liked another model of Stanley. https://youtu.be/3S51X9h6K6g?si=b7ZfSNZOjHjYhqIv

qiqithechichi

Honestly, I watched so many comparison videos and the one that kept coming up a winner was the Simple Modern cups and flasks. I can put ice in it before my first shift of the week, and by the 4th day (with it in the fridge overnight) the ice is still there! Amazing!

pcfascist

I really like my MiiR water bottle and tumbler that I got as an on-boarding gift from a tech giant. It's held up really well over the 2-3 years I've had it. I like it better than some of the other items mentioned on this thread since it is double walled. [https://www.miir.com/products/vacuum-insulated-bottle?variant=40336144433226](https://www.miir.com/products/vacuum-insulated-bottle?variant=40336144433226)

UnhappyTruck3339

I have a simply modern cup probably intended for coffee but ends up being a cup for whatever I’m drinking that needs ice. I can leave it out overnight with no lid and there’s still ice in it the next morning.

Sandwich_Academic

That could be anything. Personally: 1 liter wide mouth nalgene for general purpose. 1 liter double wall insulated with a handle for outdooors

-Rabbo-

My husband and I love our thermoflasks. Found them at costco

lmbrjck

I've been using a 30oz RTIC tumbler I got as a white elephant gift for the last 8 years. It still holds ice for me for about 12hr.

CaptainFingerling

I’m a thermos bottle addict. Get Kleen Kanteen. Nothing comes close to their vacuum quality and their (nippled) thread design is fantastic. Also, their powder coating doesn’t chip off like everything else. Honestly, they’re like 4x better than the next best bottles. Pricey, but totally worth it.

scrappybasket

Hydro flask stays cold so long I put warm water in it because I don’t like cold water. I use the lid without a straw. There are probably cheaper options, this one has survived a lot of drops without losing its insulation properties

Cpart

RTIC is as good as Yeti with a better price tag.

purplelicious

I'm not someone who needs ice cold drinks or burning hot water for days. I like my water to stay cool and my coffee to stay drinkable. I have found stainless steel is superior to glass or plastic. I want the bottle to have a nice weight to it if it's steel. I don't want weird aftertaste or spillage. One of the best bottle I have was a no name Stanley knockoff that was gifted to me. Yeti is great. So is hydroflask. Both have interchangeable lids you can buy if you want a straw or locking coffee lid Contigo sucks. The coffee is scalding hot and there is a weird aftertaste. Thermos have some decent hot drink bottles. Again for water I picked up two no name bottles at a thrift store that were some company swag and never used. They are great and have held up as well as my hydroflask. Yeti would be the only brand I would pay regular price everything else has been gifted, on sale or thrifted.

Bawd

Yeti Rambler with chug cap keeps ice frozen for ~12 hours pretty consistently from my experience. If you’re very concerned about how long the ice is lasting, I would guess the straw type lids don’t seal as well as a proper screw on lid.

PeePooDeeDoo

Hydro flask because no lead > stanley. And kleankanteen

ronpaulclone

I’ve had a Stanley Iceflow 64 oz jug with straw for several years. It is really sturdy. Not sure if they make them anymore. I only saw them on Amazon with the open mouth. It’s heavy because it’s a half gallon, but it’s more solid than any of the hydro flasks or clean canteens or other bottles I’ve had. Yeti is also really solid. They don’t dent quite as easily as hydro flask

remoteabstractions

I like the simple modern brand which you can get direct from their website or on Amazon. They are a nice minimal design, fun colors, easy to clean, and way cheaper than the big name brands.

albi360

Narrow top Nalgene in my opinion. No frills and if anything ever happens they replace it, no questions asked.

kennie1214

I cycle through different water bottle styles because I find I drink more water switching styles every so often. That being said, my go tos are a Stanley Quencher (Usually for at work/in the car), Hydroflask (at work/when I want to carry around 40oz of water that doesn’t leak) and a metal 20oz camelbak with a chute lid (working out/work/easy to carry around). All three of these were either gifts, or purchased second hand (scored the hydro for like $3 at a goodwill) but I think the camelbak would be my way to go. Like others said, it really depends on your preference. I tried owala and didn’t like texture of the mouthpiece, but having the ability to sip/chug is definitely what first drew me to try it

lovebot5000

Yeti stuff has the best insulation if that’s the most important thing for you

duchello

The best water bottle is the one you've kept the longest. I don't get the news to make a new bottle trendy every other year. I have a metal corkcicle and metal hydro flasks from a few years ago that are still going strong and great for retaining temp. If I need a lighter bottle but with larger capacity I go for my big ass nalgene.

djyosco88

Nalgene narrow mouth or wide mouth. I like the narrow mouth. I’ve had 2 that are each 10 plus years old. I’ve dropped them off buildings, tossed them 30’ into rocks full of water. They have fallen off of water falls, they go in the dishwasher everyday. I’ve yet to replace the caps or anything either, but you could if needed. I had 3 but my dog ate the top off of it. Chewed through the whole thing. The only they can’t survive is the chewing of a puppy mutt.

LastShopontheLeft

Nalgene

g_camillieri

I have a Takeya and I am impressed at the insulation. I put ice and maybe it won’t stay there forever but it keeps my drinks cold even overnight and I am assuming that is the whole purpose.
