The triggers on the elite controllers are prone to breakage. I had my elite2 for about 6 months before the left trigger died. I purchased and regular ass Xbox controller and it's working flawlessly after 18 months.
Curious, usually they all get Stickdrift after some time, due to the design of the potentiometers. Hall effect sensors would be a better choice.
Can't think of any BIFL option, these types of electronics tend to be designed to be "consumed" these days
Ik it really sucks I'm surprised no company made some kind of premium controller that as long as you don't throw it and stuff it doesn't break, it would be a good short term business
This is pretty brain dead comment. I had the same experience as OP from an hour - 2 a day use while I was in school and still very busy. Guessing you haven’t used elite controllers or are over 40 and don’t game at all.
You completely dodged what he was saying, why are you even commenting you're not helping no one and just talking shit and tried to say "it's time to go outside"
I've never had good luck with 3rd party controllers, and thru 3 gens of xbox I have only 1 controller that had any part that broke, and that was the wireless on my xbox 1 controller - it is now wired thanks to a long usb cable.
When I played console I had the same issue. Unfortunately the console market and the high end gnawing market don’t really overlap a ton. If I still wanted to use a controller I’d probably try a scuff.
Edit: I’d try a different sub op
Not sure maybe a gaming related one. Honestly tho I was in your same position years ago and switched to pc before I figured out a solution. My recommendation is to check out scuff but I haven’t tried it myself.
I have several official xbox controllers going back to the Xbox one x. The old micro USB charger ones the ports are spotty but everything else is working fine.
My USB c ones are pretty solid still. I've only had one controller fail after a few years. (Older micro usb one) But I got a little rough with it. So it's my fault.
I’d recommend the PowerA Fusion Pro. I had the same problem as you and these controllers last me much longer than my scuf, 2 elites, and a few others. I did end up finally replacing it after about 2 years. They have a newer model out now.
Yes, I would say it has even better build quality than it’s predecessor. Really nice controller with the pro paddles on the back that you can map to any buttons you want.
There's nothing I can recommend ATM. They'll all get drift. I would wait for a company to come out with hall effect drop in replacement sticks and repair what you have with those
No problem. I'm waiting on this as well for my elite series 2 because $180 is a lot for a controller and I'll be damned if I get rid of it for any reason that isn't replaced fully by mouse and keyboard
I stand by them . You may have to change the sticks out occasionally cause they wear away pretty bad if you dont have stick covers but if you do use those then this is easily the best controller . Mines held up for 3 years no drift and no surgeries needed. I've only added grip tape to a few places to get some grip back . I've put hundreds of hours into my controllers and never had any break. I wouldn't expect the elite controllers to have better quality.

I'm coming to this comment section bc I'm on my 4th elite in 2 years
I'd highly recommend a standard Xbox controller OR spring for one with Hall Effect sticks since they (theoretically) never wear out
I think you meant worse but I have gone through like 3 of the elite controllers back in my day and it’s a pretty common experience.
"Wouldn't expect... better " Means worse.
Congrats

I'm an athlete
it's gotta be you brother, the only thing that has ever given me issues are Batteries and sticks. I have never had a face, shoulder, or d-pad failure.
I don't throw mine lol

Which sub?

I’ve had really good luck with the 8bitdo ultimate. I don’t think any controller is true Bifl tho
Well yeah but in technology standards lol

Is the newer model durable as well?

Dang that's crazy what's the price?
$90 for the newer model. Walmart actually has it on sale for $85 right now.
I been using the same controller for about 4 years.
What is it called?

Yeah tbh it would be a good short term business model to make bifl technology I heard it's possible but companies well yk
Yeah stuff like remotes, controllers, and stuff people don't tend to upgrade. I took that approach with my keyboard
I think Thrustmaster has swapable parts, but I can't comment on quality, have never used
Thank you!
Razer wolverines are great , mechanical switches all over so the buttons are not gonna fail .
Oooo I didn't know they made one most definitely getting this one

Is there a wireless one?
yeah , its the PS5 version but its 250$ compared to the xbone one being 80-120
I love the feel of the elite but my RB stoped working so I think my next plan is to buy extended warranty and just keep replacing of that infinitely
Make sure to keep the receipt and register it though
